As a child I did so much more than anyone would’ve expected someone of my age to do. I reached out for help to so many people, no one wanted to save me from my hell. I often get asked why I am closed and withdrawn, why do I keep the most painful thoughts to myself, why is it so hard to open up and trust that someone would want nothing but good for me. Since the age of 5 I wanted nothing more than to feel unconditional love, I’ve always craved the knowledge that someone else would put my safety first. Ever since I learned the Golden Rule, Treat Others How You Would Want To Be Treated, I implemented it into my life. I took the place of others to keep them from feeling pain that they didn’t deserve, pain that I myself was all too familiar with by then. Looking back now knowing how the cards would fall and where I would land within them I often ask myself was the sacrifice worth it? Would I put myself through every little thing all over again? If I knew that she would never be a mother to me would I still stand between the woman that birthed me and a mad man with a loaded shotgun? Hell it’s not like it would be the first time I had a gun pointed at me due to her life choices. Each time I ask myself if my choices as a child were worth my failed life as an adult I just give myself a stupid sad giggle because even knowing now how things would turn out I wouldn’t do anything different. I may not be the person I want to be but she is out there doing good things. She does exist, somehow when I was breaking she was seeping through the cracks. I see her occasionally in those that I put before myself, so yes I would do it all the same if I could.
I May Not Have Given Myself The Best But I Have Given Others The Best Of Me….. I often struggle with knowing that but I don’t know any other way.
The Golden Rule is a moral which says treat others as you would like them to treat you. ... It is called the 'golden' rule because there is value in having this kind of respect and caring attitude for one another.
Have been trying to figure out how to heal from a childhood that most would not have survived.
How do you move on knowing accountability was never taken. How can you be content with allowing your abuser to carry on a life you crave? Why is it i am judged by my mental illnesses when the person that gave me them will never be judged for her part in my abuse?
How do I get help?
This account was created to clean out my mind and hopefully help people who have been or are in similar situations that I have been in…. Topics Include
Abuse of All Kinds, Trying to cope with mental illness, being a young parent, breaking cycles and much more.
