difference reposting reblogging
Hi! If youâre new to Tumblr and youâre just starting to post stuff, thereâs something you should know. People work very hard to create all those pictures, gifs, and pieces of art that you love so much. And so, after theyâve created stuff, they like to be given credit when those images appear on other peopleâs blogs.
If youâre posting stuff that other people made, you should be respectful of the people who make the stuff you like (thereby encouraging them to make even more!). The way to show them respect is to not post anything without an attribution that gives credit to the person who made it, because otherwise it looks like you are claiming you made the image yourself, and thatâs not polite. Posting something like this, not giving credit to the person who made it, is called reposting, and itâs considered rude.
The best way to post the images you like while showing respect to the people who made them is by reblogging things from within Tumblr. To do this, you look at a Tumblr post you like and look for a little symbol with two arrows forming a little circle or rectangle (what this looks like and where itâs located varies depending on which Tumblr theme is being used). If you click that symbol with the arrows, you will reblog the post, and it will appear in your blog with a clear indication of where it came from. Unlike reposting, reblogging makes content creators very happy, because their work is being appreciated and spread to a wider audience, and they are being given credit. So reblog all you like, and the world will be filled with peace, harmony, and mutual respect.
This has been a public service announcement. Feel free to reblog it to spread the word.
Landing Pages Platforms
These are some of the best platforms to set up pretty landing pages:
- LeadPages.net - ClickFunnels.com
A beautiful Landing Page is the best way to attract, convince and convert potential clients to subscribe to your newsletter. So it's worth the investment!
Iâd used only these two tools for automating my Facebook posts, Buffer and Hootsuite. Honestly, I didnât see much of a difference between them. Personally, I prefer Bufferâs interface.
Buffer:
I found the interface more intuitive,Â
besides it lets me re-buffer posts already posted, which means that itâs easier for me to just schedule it again.
Hootsuite:Â
Lets me see the performance of the posts, and
ends up allowing me to post at many places at once and adding up to 3 accounts in the free plan.
Instagram Hashtags
There are many ways to search for new # to use, to follow and to engage with:
by checking the # your favorite, inspirational accounts are using by checking the related hashtags
Itâs suggested to always change your hashtags and keep them related to the content of your image, use a mix of small, niche-y tags with bigger tags the best hashtags for higher visibility + engagement are around 100K uses
the very small hashtags will take you directly to your ideal audience the ones that are exactly looking for this type of content youâre posting and might become your fans or xustomers though the bigger hashtags are better for engagement as more people are searching them and will give you a higher chance of being liked
Add meta description on Tumblr
For optimizing seo on your tumblr, you can add meta description and keywords at your tumblr templates. Follow this step:
1. login to your tumblr dashboard
2. clck menu tab settings (icon gear)
3. select the blog you will be fitted meta description code
4. On theme menu, click âcustomizeâ
5. On custom themes, click edit html
6. Copy and paste this code after </tittle> :
<meta content=âPLACE YOUR KEYWORDS HEREâ name=âkeywordsâ/> <meta content=âPLACE YOUR BLOG DESCRIPTION HEREâ name='descriptionâ/> <meta content='INDEX, FOLLOWâ name='GOOGLEBOTâ/> <meta content='index, follow, allâ name='robotsâ/> <meta content='allâ name='googlebotâ/> <meta content='allâ name='msnbotâ/> <meta content='allâ name='Googlebot-Imageâ/> <meta content='allâ name='Slurpâ/> <meta content='allâ name='ZyBorgâ/> <meta content='allâ name='Scooterâ/>
**) replace the bold font with yours meta keyword and description like this:
7. Click save and done.
Your tumblr blog will show up with description on google search engine like this :
SEO for Tumblr Blogs
A quick guide to Tumblr SEO.
I have been using Tumblr blogs for last five years to share photos, quotes, and links. I have been writing about Social Media and Technology News in my other blogs (in Googleâs Blogger) in the Nepali language. And from the last couple of months, I was thinking to share my experience as an Inbound Marketer about Social Media, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Analytics, Landing Pages and Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO).
It was quite challenging for me to choose the best platform for my new Inbound Marketing Blog, I have been juggling between Blogger, WordPress, and Tumblr. After playing with Blogger, Tumblr and WordPress for a few weeks finally, I decided to use Tumblr as a blogging platform, because it is super simple to use and have beautiful themes.
But being an SEO, choosing Tumblr as a blogging platform was a dumb idea because Tumblr does not have good SEO built-in, compared to WordPress and Blogger; and are losing the organic search traffic. I quickly realized Tumblr blog was poorly optimized though it provides sitemap and the robots.txt.

How to increase you Tumblr SEO.
Tumblr does not have very good SEO built in, compared to blog sites like Wordpress and Blogger. But you do have the option to edit the HTML, so we can increase our search rank with a bit of smart coding, and good habits.
Beef up the <title> tag. Add the Post Summary to the Title, as its more likely to gain you search spots than the title alone. <title>{block:PostSummary}{PostSummary} - {/block:PostSummary}{Title}</title> Â
Use your tags as keywords. Basic SEO 101, add meta keywords, but weâll leverage off of Tumblr to dynamically add them. <meta name=âkeywordsâ content=â{block:Permalink}{block:Posts}{block:Tags}{Tag}, {/block:Tags}{/block:Posts}{/block:Permalink}â />Â
Meta it more. Add meta tags for title and description. <meta name=âtitleâ content=â{block:PostSummary}{PostSummary} - {/block:PostSummary}{Title}â /> <meta name=âdescriptionâ content=â{MetaDescription}â /> Â
Upload your sitemap.xml to Google Webmaster Tools. Tumblr builds sitemaps automatically, http://yourname.tumblr.com/sitemap.xml. Submit it to Google Webmaster Tools, Bing Webmaster and Yahoo Site Explorer.
Use <h1>. Delve into your themes custom HTML and find the {block:Title} and replace it with this. {block:Title}<h1>{Title}</h1>{/block:Title}
Add a social button. Search engines rank sites higher by the the amount of sites that link to a page, so make it easy for people to link to you. <!-- AddThis Button BEGIN --><div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style " addthis:title="{Title}" addthis:url="{Permalink}"><a class="addthis_button_preferred_1"></a><a class="addthis_button_preferred_2"></a><a class="addthis_button_preferred_3"></a><a class="addthis_button_preferred_4"></a><a class="addthis_button_compact"></a><a class="addthis_counter addthis_bubble_style"></a></div><script type="text/javascript" src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#pubid=xa-4d9c5506633045a3"></script><!-- AddThis Button END -->
Piggy back on Tumblrâs limited SEO. Go to the http://www.tumblr.com/customize, and under Advanced, and tick Use descriptive URLs and Allow search engines to index your blog.
Add Google Analytics so you can track your progress.
Follow these steps as well as good and engaging content you should have solid traffic from search engines.Â
Pinterest - What It Is & How to Use It
Pinterest is a great way to gain more visibility to your site, your blog, your business or whatever. I do think SEO is the best way but I'd say before learning the complicated SEO techniques, you can already do great by using Pinterest, StumbleUpon, Google+ etc.
Those are some tips for improving your website's traffic with Pinterest:
The first thing you should do, if you ddidn't switch to a Business Profileyet, is to do it.
If you're lucky (as me đ) to have the Featured Boards in your Profile, you should definetely use it to your advantage as well.
Put your name + business name in the profil, your site and a description that tells us who you are.
Write interesting descriptions for your pins & boards with:
KEYWORDS
HASHTAGS
CTA
PĂ€rticipate and use Group Boards as part of your strategy.
Use Facebook Groups for advertising your Pinterest account, your own Group Boards and your Pins.
Repin other people's content.
Keep reppining your own content consistently.
The number of followers on Pinterest is less important that the number of monthly views. And keep in mind that you're not going to double your traffic overnight, youâre going to see an improvement in your long-term goal.
For any other questions, or suggestions, leave me a comment. If you're interested on knowing more tips, or having me set up your Profile for you, let me know: facebook.com/dami_laveoux / [email protected] (: I'd love to help.
Pinterest Group Boards
Lately, Group Boards have been maybe the best way to use Pinterest to gain traffic back to your site and more exposure to your account.
I'm not saying that you should only rely on that - not at all - it's equally as important to have your own boards, your own content and your own inspiration. That's just a simple and way of collaborating with others.
By using Group Boards effectively, you have chances to be seen by a higher audience. Group Boards also makes it easier for you to find + repin interesting content related to your topic.
Please
- respect the rules of each board,
- don't spam.
You can also make your own Group Boards, which I really recommend too. Thatâs a great way to gain more followers and become a reference to to people in your niche.
I've made 5 Group Boards for Moms, which are:
Parenting + Blogging
Home & Decoration
Recipes
Kids & Crafts
You can ask to participate in any of them, by following + messaging me there at pinterest.com/dami.
Pinterest Board Covers (in 2018)
It's so important to have the same style of board covers to keep a cohesive and branded aesthetic. It also makes you look instantly more professional, as you're seem to be someone that's taking care of your image and dedicating time to build your social medias.
Pinterest Board Covers Size for 2018
Currently, Board Covers are squares (which I'm not sure I prefer, but my personal opinion doesn't matter much here). You should do the graphics using the ratio 1:1, or the size 55x55. There are many editing apps you can use to make Board Covers, such as:
Canva
PicMonkey
Spark Post
Over
I personally don't use Canva, because I'm an alternative girl đ, the kind that always find better stuffs around - you can check my own personal lists of apps for Pinterest and others here.
Pinterest Board Cover Templates
Then, you can use pre-made templates or you can make your own, following your own creativity - you can also find some inspiration on how to do it by checking other profiles around.
I highly suggeat using your own colors + fonts from your Branding in your Board Covers as well as in your Pins. You can download designs & fonts from:
Creative Market
Font & Design Bundles
The Hungry JPEG
(Those are affiliate links - the currently sites I personally spend all my money on đ ).
Pinterest Board Cover Ideas
Some ideas for Board Covers are images related to the boardâs topic, some pre-made graphics, quotes or the name of the board written down.
I guess that's it. After you do your own Board Covers, show it to me there: pinterest.com/dami. I would love to see it for some inspiration as well, and maybe even use it as an example in my blog. Or if you're struggling on how to do it, contact me directly facebook.com/dami_laveoux / [email protected] and let me do it for you.

Tailwind x Boardbooster
Tailwind already wins for me simply because they have an app, which makes it so easy to schedule my pins from any other app or from the browser. Iâm more of a portable device person, and having this practicity makes everything easier for me changes everything. But besides this, let me talk about each of those their so you can also make your own decision.

Scheduling on Instagram
While doing Instagram for Business, itâs important to keep a consistent feed aligned to a strong branding by scheduling posts.
Some tips I use for not running out of content and always having enough posts in advance are:
To take as many pictures as possible in the same situation or location (we donât need to post all of these pictures at once, they can be used throughout the year or matched to a certain holiday or occasion - which wonât saturate our folllowers and give the impression that weâre always doing different and new things);
To think about different categories for the feed and then, always take pictures to fit them - for example, by having a floral category in mind, youâll always remember to photograph beautiful flowers that might not be added to your feed at the moment but that can be used at any moment later that you might need to fill a blank space between a square and other. Other examples of categories could be: sunset/sunrise, trees, beaches, mountains etc.
The advantages of having a schedule feed are:
To automate the posts, thus stressing less and spending less time on social medias;
To plan holidays promotions, contests etc, ALSO our own holidays without worries of producing updated content.
I personally have enough pictures for a long period of time but I try to schedule them at least 2 weeks in advance, some apps Iâve used or still use for Instagram Scheduling are:
PLANOLY - thatâs the most girly, it also lets us plan our Stories in advance, Discover User Generated Content and upload from Dropbox, for example.
UNUM - Itâs maybe the most minimalistic and easiest to be used.
PREVIEW - It has the highest limit for uploading pictures.
Iâll make a post only comparing these apps one of these upcoming days.
If you want to know more apps for Social Media Automation, Scheduling, Strategies etc, you can have it in my email list here.

How is this workshop different from the one Iâm hosting in person ?
Itâs not, really ! Just one requires you to attend personally where Iâm currently located, Belgrade, and the other, you can watch from anywhere !
The workshop will cover different aspects of online businesses such as:
Choosing a topic
Marketing & Promoting
Social Medias Platforms (Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook etc)
How long does it last ?
1 hour
Who is this for ?
For beginners.Â
If you just want to know how to make money fast, grow an audience using hacks, thatâs not for you I indeed have some things written about those for free ! Instead, thatâs for those that are starting businesses and thinking of strategies in the long-term.
There are many free webinars, so why is this a paid workshop ?
Well, because thatâs indeed a small, closed WORKSHOP. These free webinars repeat themselves and what we already know found for free on Google, but the real insights are only inside their premium memberships which theyâre always trying to sell at the end. In our workshop, youâll receive all these paid informations and be answered right away. I had already bought many of these courses in many different subjects that cost hundreds by these other experts online so I know the information.
The common webinars are also always full with hundreds of people and even if they open a question session at the end, you only have a small chance to be found in the midst of all questions and answered to.Â
Thatâs why, in fact, you can send me your questions beforehand by email and Iâll prepare to answer them directly to you.Â
You'll have the option to open your camera + microphone so we all can see and interact with one another.Â
Why is it so cheap so ?
Iâm just starting as well and trying to gain experience and be of service. Currently, Iâm redesigning my blogs and desining my new websites, so there are some time and money involved that Iâm gathering. Iâm creating a new community for creative entrepreneurs that Iâll be announcing & launching soon.
The spots are also limited
If I ever decide to do it another time, it probably will be a bit more expensive. So this might be your only chance to have it at this price or even your last chance to have it at all.

Will there be a replay ?
This workshop is supposed to be attended but in case something happen and you canât be there, a replay will be sent for a limited time.
