For context: I have been smoking/vaping for about 3-4 years, and as of today I’m officially one week clean. And oh boy oh boy.

Since I have started quitting nicotine, I have experienced exactly two new moods

Number one:

“And that’s supposed to be hard?? I don’t get it, I literally have no cravings and it couldn’t be easier, people who complain are just pussies, I’m built different”

And number two:

“OUCH ow ow ouch OWWW this is the hardest thing I’ve ever done I will DIE if I don’t inhale some smoke RIGHT NOW I will fight everyone around me FUCK IT HURTS MY BRAIN”

And I switch back and forth between these two mentalities without notice and totally forget that the other one exists - until my brain decides it’s time to switch em back

Update for my friends: now 279 days free from nicotine

Update for people struggling: it gets so much better. The painful cravings stopped for me around day 80. You will be okay. Your brain lies while you are going through withdrawal telling you you NEED it but you DON’T and things will get better! Much better!! And it really is worth it.

So glad past me went through that hell.

Trans men are men, therefore they have male privilege. If you say they don’t, you’re saying trans men aren’t actually men.

We’re using the same word to refer to two different things. There’s men (gender) and men (class).

Trans men are men (gender). Cis men are men (gender). -> Cis men are included in men (class). Trans men aren’t because the patriarchy doesn’t recognize trans men as men. -> Being a member of men (class) is what gives you male privilege and the power that comes with it.

Therefore:

Trans men don’t have male privilege.

why is it that when you see a complete lack of history, representation and stories, you assume that those people just have nothing good to offer? why is it that you don't even stop to think about the possibility that those people have been assaulted, killed, and then had their identities erased in death? why is it that you would rather claim an entire group of people has no worth, instead of looking at the lack of transmasc stories and thinking "wow, the erasure of trans men and mascs is horrible, i'm going to try to uplift their voices where i can"?
