They say that everything’s bigger in Texas, and motorcycle events are no different.  Texas has long been a favorite state for serious bikers and hobbyists alike.  The long expanses of open road coupled by the beautiful scenery make this state perfect for traveling via motorcycle.  Texas has deserts and coastlines and everything in between.  It also offers year-round riding conditions due to the warmer climate.  If you’re a dedicated biker and want some challenging routes, this state also boasts some of the most exciting twists and turns in the entire country.  

If you’re looking for a route that can encompass an entire vacation, look no further than the Texas Forest Trail.  This is a 1000 mile expanse that has something for everyone.  Anyone who believes that Texas is a stark or fairly dehydrated landscape has definitely never experienced the forest trail.  You’ll find that the majority of the trail is lined with beautiful foliage and flowering trees.  There are also a large number of historic stops along the way that welcome the biker community.  Whether you enjoy camping beneath the bright expanse of the Texas sky, or want something a bit more modern- this trail has access to it all.  If you’re looking for something a bit shorter, consider the three sisters 100 mile loop.  Make sure that you’re a confident and experienced rider who’s prepared to navigate a complex and beautiful route.

Live Oak Resort Annual Bike Rally

Explore your wild side with this “clothing optional” motorcycle rally. Well-known for its wild crowd and huge variety of antics, this rally promises to be both fun and entertaining.  The purchase price is a little steep at about a hundred bucks per person, but this allows for total access to the resort’s amenities.  This includes an outdoor swimming pool, hot tubs, and some spa services.  You’ll have plenty of opportunities to earn it back with the annual poker games.  This is a three day long party that caters to a more mature crowd.

The Southern Thunder Rally

In October the Southern Brothers MC will host its third annual Texas Rally.  This particular club focuses heavily on improving the community through charity and the embrace of southern values.  They consider members to be family, and take their position in the community very seriously.  This rally will have everything from a bikini car wash to Christin themed children’s games for the little ones.  It promises to be fun for the entire family.

The Annual Southwest Texas Area Toy Run

Who doesn’t enjoy riding their motorcycle for a good cause?  The cost of admission for this charity ride comes at the price of an unwrapped toy.  These toys will go to needy children in the upcoming Christmas season.  There are several toy runs hosted in Texas.  Keep your eyes open for the chance to do something good!

People often imagine bikers as a death defying culture full of rebels and those who throw caution to the wind.  In all reality, the majority of them are more safety conscious than we initially believe.  They have to be, motorcycles have the potential to be incredibly dangerous.  When moving at high speeds virtually unprotected, it’s incredibly important to protect yourself.  

Bikers need to be prepared for the effects of the elements at 60 plus miles an hour, and what can happen if they do get into a wreck.  Fortunately, regular drivers are becoming more aware of bikers, and are learning to drive with more caution.  This lessens the incidents of motorcycle fatalities, and helps people to recover from injuries much faster.

Full Face Helmets

These are the motorcycle helmets that cover every part of the head and face.  They have an open window that allows you to see, while protecting everything else from the neck up.  Full face helmets also cover the chin, which is a huge help in most motorcycle accidents.  Fortunately, these helmets come with specifications for almost any riding position.  The key is to finding ones that are well-ventilated and easy to clean.

Modular Helmets

Slightly less safe than the full face version, these helmets have a hinge that allows the chin bar to flip up.  These allows for more ventilation, and an ease of access to the face and mouth.  Many riders prefer this because it makes it easier to stop and relax or to take a drink or eat when they have a moment.  

Open Face Helmets

These helmets are what many of us are familiar with.  They protect the sides and back of the head, but do virtually nothing for the face and eyes.  They are also lacking a chin bar to help absorb the impact.  You may have to invest in goggles or other accessories if you choose this helmet.

Half Helmets

Half helmets get their name because they only effectively protect the top half of your head.  These provide some protection, but are considered the least safe of all of the models.  They are popular with those who enjoy a vintage look, and who require more ventilation as they ride.  Again, you’ll be buying quite a few accessories if you plan on trying to use this helmet for longer trips.

Bikers have been referred to as the “new American cowboys”, and the last of the rebellious spirit left in the U.S.  It’s this kind of awe that inspires our fascination with bikers and their perceived lifestyles.  Yes, most bikers are our friends and neighbors.  

Perfectly law-abiding citizens who live and work alongside us, and just so happen to have a motorcycle parked outside instead of a car.  But, there’s something defiant about riding down the road on the back of a motorcycle.  Look at popular television series, and outlaw characters.  Plotlines and ratings don’t lie- people really do love bikers.  This is part of the reason why there are places all over America dedicated to the motorcycle community.  Many of these are located along well-known and popular motorcycle routes, and they give bikers a welcoming place to stop and relax when they need a rest stop.

It helps to have places like this available, especially when the route is going to take you more than one day to complete.  Some bikers simply ride for the pleasure of it.  They don’t necessarily have a specific destination in mind, and are riding a route because of the historical scenery or dangerous curves.  Being on a motorcycle puts you closer to the environment that you’re traveling through.  It’s this kind of unique feeling that’s made motorcycle tours so popular.  Vacationing from the back of a bike is entirely possible, and more common than many people think.

Johnny’s Bar

This historical bar located in Hollister, California, has been serving the biker community since 1964.  The walls are decorated with vintage memorabilia, and the parking lot is generally full of motorcycles.  Excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere have kept this bar in business, and will continue to do so for decades to come.

Scoundrels Pub

Scoundrel’s Pub was involved in a lawsuit in 2012 that fought several state and government entities that were openly discriminating against the biker community.  This is a place that’s well-known for its food, and well-received for the atmosphere.  If you ever ride through Las Vegas, Nevada- make sure to put this famous location of your list of stops.

The Rock Store

This is another famous California location nestled in the Santa Monica Mountains of Los Angeles.  The low key atmosphere is slightly less boisterous than many people expect, and has earned this location a reputation for being almost spiritual for some bikers.

COME RIDE WITH ME

VROOM, VROOOOM, we’ve all seen them---the whole gang of bikers riding together alongside us in traffic.  And they are somewhat of a showstopper.

There is something about the brotherhood of a motorcycle gang that will make all other traffic stop and watch them ride by.  And when you see them all riding together, there is something about them that is somewhat impressive.  Perhaps it’s because you can really sense the cohesiveness among them.  

For the most part---when you ride along side them in your car---they seem to be of the friendly type.  You can get the ever-so slight smile from some, a wink of the eye from another, and then there are times when you may hear a “hello ma’am” from a few of the other riders.   And then there are the ones that can seem to be a little bit intimidating.  Especially when you see the big burly guys who are wearing the leather jackets, boots, and sporting the big tattoos.  But, astoundingly enough, they end up being some of the nicest ones.

Bikers have been known to live outside the boundaries that have been set by what some call conventional society.  They have their own Klan and play by their own rules---at least that’s what it seems like sometimes.  Biker clubs such as the New York motorcycle are a tight-knit family, as most biker clubs will attest to.  Some bikers have been known to alienate their biological families and totally integrate themselves to what they call their new family, which are the other biker brothers.

If a biker club is known to be rowdy, rambunctious, and lawbreakers, their clubs are quickly labeled as 1%ers (One Percenters), which meant that the other 99% of the gang were decent law abiding citizens and did not commit crimes or break the law to the extent where they had negative encounters with the police.

Like the New York motorcycle club, most other biker clubs originated here in the U.S. and started clubs that eventually opened up chapters all around the world.  However, there are some of these chapters that have been known to have turf wars with other biker clubs and have been arrested for crimes that range anywhere from extortion and drug trafficking to murder, rapes and racketeering.

However, research shows that the Department of Justice reports that there are more than 300 outlaw biker gangs throughout the United States alone.  One of the largest and most well known is the gang that goes by the name Hell’s Angels.  They reportedly have in excess of 2,500 members and roughly over 250 chapters that l are located both domestically and internationally.

There are other chapters that have been prosecuted by law enforcement.  And at one time the FBI used the RICO (Racketeer Influenced & Corrupt Organization) Act to cripple one biker organization that was involved in drug dealing and extorting bars and clubs throughout their region.

Law enforcement continues to monitor certain organizations across states for any sign or implication for trouble from chapters that have been known to cause disruption across the country.  Within some of these chapters, law enforcement is aware that many of the clubs are known for organized crime.  With that said, there are certain chapters that move to the head of the list, such as the Pagans, Hell’s Angels and The Banditos.

But, if you are just looking to join a chapter just for the sake of riding, this author suggests that you research chapters that are not labeled as 1%’ers.  And see what you would need to do in order to become a member of the motorcycle club of your choice

How To Pack Up Essentials For A Texas Trip

Are you about to leave on a long Texas bike trip? I bet you are already excited. You will even reach a point of thinking about nothing else. So, you need to get ample time to prepare for the trip. Your packing needs to match what you will need for the trip. You would not like it riding donned in anything more than a simple sweatshirt and a leather vest in chilly weather.  How to keep the bike rolling

With your mechanical skills aside, on a long trip, you might end up having to fix something on your bike. So, do carry a tire patch plus some carbon dioxide cartridges to fix those tire problems. Infamous American Biker Gangs

Motorcycle owners in America really embody a huge variety of men and women who simply enjoy the feel of the open road.  These are our friends and neighbors who have embraced the motorcycle lifestyle, and who love all of the positive things that it stands for.  Then there are those who take their personal commitment to the next level.

These are the people who belong to genuine motorcycle gangs, and who live their entire lives in loyalty to their clubs.  This is an entirely alternative culture that has been studied at length, and is often looked at like a separate society.  They live by a very definitive set of standards determined by a hierarchy within the club, and they adhere to these as if they are law. These are the outlaw gangs who make up both the romanticized television shows and the horrific portions of the evening news.  They have been described as both deadly and benevolent, and they have a long and rich history in America. These motorcycle chapters are present all over America today.  You can find Arizona biker gangs that are just as prevalent as those who have a major presence in California.  Many of these clubs seem elusive and almost mythical in certain areas of the country- in others, they’re almost common place. Check out some of these historical biker gangs: Hell’s Angels This is one motorcycle gang that we’ve all heard of at one point or another.  Hell’s angels are known throughout every part of the world, and are now recognized as an organized crime syndicate by the United States justice system.   This club really has its roots in World War Two, and is named for a flying squadron out of China.  It was founded in 1948 by the Bishop family in Fontana, California.  The actual history of this motorcycle gang is sometimes debated, and their formation and initial spread is muddy at best. The Hell’s Angels are synonymous with criminal activities in several different countries, and are known for organized crime.  There are some areas that claim that the club has stepped in and instituted a unique kind of internal law, but they almost always remain involved in drugs and extortion.  This is one of the oldest and best established biker gangs in the world.  They merit a great deal attention from legal entities, and seem as if they’ll be going strong for many years to come. The Pagans The Pagans are considered a direct rival of the Hell’s Angels.  They were formed in Maryland in 1959, and have been competing for territory with other gangs since their inception.  They are considered among the “one-percenter” clubs.  This is a label that was generated when a group released a study stating that ninety-nine percent of motorcycle owners were normal law abiding citizens, and the one percenters were the outlaws.  The Pagans and other one percenters wear a one percent patch on their colors.   The Pagans are also identified by the United States justice system as an outlaw group involved in both drug and weapon trafficking. The Warlocks This is a newer one percenter motorcycle gang.  They are famous for their extreme use of violence to control their territory, and their involvement in the drug trade.  They began in Florida, and have made their presence known across America- particularly in areas of Pennsylvania.   This is another gang that uses fear and violence to further their particular agenda.  The Warlocks are only one of many groups that have continued to evolve throughout America over the last fifty years.   It’s a well-known truth that most motorcycle owners are just regular people, but if you run into any of these one percenters- ride in the other direction as qui

Three Ways To Transport A Motorcycle Other Than Riding It

Need to haul a vintage motorcycle, or planning to take it with you on a trip along with family members or friends? You cannot simply ride on your motorcycle with too much equipment and other passengers that need transportation as well, but here are 3 ways to bring your motorcycle with you where ever you may go.

On the bed of a pickup truck This is the most hassle free method. As it will not take a lot of effort to pick your motorcycle up and simply place it on a bed, but it still will require a lot of care and attention to detail to ensure your motorcycle is safe and stable. There are motorcycle ramps available to make it easier to guide it into the bed of your pickup truck. Have another person help you push it into the bed to avoid injury. Putting the motorcycle in neutral will be very helpful as you carry it into the ramp. With the motorcycle standing up with its kickstand, you can fasten it to the bed with tight bungee cords so that it won’t fall over or out of the bed of your pickup truck.

Inside a truck, van, or trailer It is much easier said than done to put your motorcycle inside of a truck and let it be that, but trucks do not provide a motorcycle with a sense of stability, due to their spacious holding areas. Ratchet straps and two wheel chocks are required to transport a motorcycle in a wide-open area.

Like a pickup truck, guide the motorcycle into the truck with the help from a ramp and another person.

If you own a cargo van or box van trailer, it should be an easier vehicle to put the motorcycle inside of, among other equipment or luggage that can be ideal for a motorcycle trip.

With the kickstand of the motorcycle out, place one wheel chock in front of the front tire, and the other behind the rear tire. These wheel chocks keep the motorcycle from moving around in addition to relieving pressure from being strapped into the truck. Before you gather the straps, put the kickstand back in.

Next, tie the handle bars to the sides of the trailer, truck, or van with the ratchet straps. All straps should be tightened to minimize movement and prevent the motorcycle from falling over. Put the kickstand back out so that the motorcycle is standing comfortably.

If you don’t have any other vehicle available to you, a friend, or a colleague, then your last resort is to have a company ship it to your location, which probably is not the best option if you are travelling very far for a motorcycle trip.

Ask multiple companies in your area for estimates on how much you should pay them upfront. The price of a haul will be affected by the size of the motorcycle, how long and far the motorcycle will travel, and how much time it would take to haul it.

These companies should have open and closed transportation available to you. Open transportation is similar to carrying it on a bed of a pickup truck. Closed transportation is similar to carrying it inside a truck, and should be pricier for the protection that it would get, compared to open transportation.

And of course, ask these companies about insurance policies, like what happens if the motorcycle is damaged during the trip. If the company does not have insurance, then that should raise a red flag for you; do not do business with a company without proper insurance.

The Brotherhood of Bikes

They are the modern cowboys.  Lovers of speed, freedom, and wide open spaces.  They are the romantic image of the alpha male, a modern day knight riding on a shining steed.  Everything about them speaks of the solitary, strong man.  

However, despite the romantic image, these men, these riders of the steel horse, find camaraderie with other bikers.  Their shared love of the freedom of the open road and the machines they ride give motorcyclists a common bond that spans culture, race, religion, gender, and economic circumstances.  If they find another biker, they have found a brother or sister.

Bikers often get a reputation for being rough, tough, gritty troublemakers, but nothing could be further from the truth.  While some bikers may fit this stereotype, the majority are men and women of great compassion who champion causes, raising money and awareness through their active participation in rides and fundraising events.

Many bikers join motorcycle clubs.  There are many reasons why bikers seem to congregate in groups, but a shared love of the road is first and foremost.  Some clubs are built of members who have a common affiliation, such as with a military unit or a union.  Motorcycle club lists provide you with not only the names of clubs, but where they meet and what their mission is, allowing you to find a club in your area that has the same passions and concerns as you do.

Motorcycle clubs are different from a riding club in that a riding club meets solely for the purpose of riding, while motorcycle clubs do have a mission that they actively pursue, whether it be to join others of a common faith, to help members stay clean and sober, or to support children who have been sexually abused.  Joining a club is much more than brothers riding; it is a chance to make a real difference to others within the club or the world at large.  This is not Sons of Anarchy; this is brotherhood at its finest.

Motorcycle clubs become family to its members.  Regardless of color or creed, being part of a club means that you know there is someone who will always have your back, no matter what.  For clubs that are military in affiliation, the club and its “I’ve got your six” attitude is exactly what its members have been missing since leaving the military and have found again with the club.   Alcoholics find fellow addicts who understand their struggle to stay sober and support each other in that goal.  Motorcycle clubs are a haven for the lost, for those who need a chance to have a family and know that they ae not alone.  

Along with the feeling of family, there is also a sense of pride attached to being part of a motorcycle club.  Because clubs are active in their communities and are making a difference, being able to wear your club patch on your leathers can give a biker a chance to be recognized and appreciated for their club’s mission and work.  That patch also opens opportunities to bring awareness for their cause.  And the bikes themselves, those great shiny, loud, brilliant machines, are certainly highly visible (and audible) so the clubs are going to be noticed and the cause as well.

Many motorcycle enthusiasts treat riding with a reverence that makes this more of a culture and less of a hobby.  They describe their time on their motorcycles as a way to get away, to get closer to themselves, and to find some sort of balance.  Some just really enjoy the feeling of the wind and the sun as they fly down the highway.  Others like the less restricted feeling of a bike over a traditional vehicle.  Then, there are those who want the rush.  The thrill of traveling seventy miles an hour only inches from the road.

The Autobahn

This is the highway in Germany that is notorious for having no real set speed limit.  In areas that border towns and populated areas, they have instituted some speed regulations. But, the highway really is unregulated for much of its extensive length.  This is not your typical Sunday drive.  People who travel on the Autobahn mean business, and they regularly travel at speeds in excess of 112mph.  German cars are designed for speed, and the native drivers go through a much more involved training process than people in America.  A German driver’s license can cost thousands of dollars, and requires individual classes.  Having the privilege of driving is extremely important to them, and it shows in their highway etiquette.

When getting ready to drive your motorcycle on the Autobahn, it is extremely important to make sure that all of your maintenance is up-to-date.  Next comes safety gear (helmet, leathers, ect.). Last, make sure that you are completely aware of the rules of the road in Germany.  This is important, as they adhere strictly to traffic laws in order to safely drive on the fastest highway in the world.  Use the left lane for passing only, and give yourself more distance between you and the vehicle in front of you.  Using your lights to signal intent to pass is also a pretty safe policy.  Some motorcyclists have reached speeds in excess of 180mph on the Autobahn.  Your only limits are your machine, and your fear.

Tail of the Dragon

This is an eleven-mile stretch in Blount County Tennessee that is reputed to include over three hundred curves.  The trees grow close to the road, often obstructing the view.  This makes it particularly difficult for people to see the curves ahead, some of which are incredibly sharp.  So why drive it?  The payoff comes in the form of one of the most scenic views in the entire U.S.  That, and bragging rights.  Be careful, and don’t underestimate this drive!

Bolivia’s Road of Death

The name kind of says it all here.  This is quite literally the most dangerous road in the world, and that’s for full-sized vehicles.  This road amounts to a steep trail carved into the side of the Andes Mountains.  It’s rarely wide enough to accommodate two vehicles, and rounding curves is particularly perilous.  Guardrails?  Nope, not here.  With over two hundred deaths annually, this is really a road to travel at your own risk.

SEEING TEXAS IN A BIG WAY

Travelers used to say to you that all roads lead to home. I ‘m certain that can be true in some cases.

Back in the day, everyone seemed to somehow have the opportunity to travel Route 66.  I believe it was that route you always had to return to get back home

Road trips are not as frequent with families as they were in the days of yesteryear.  However, they seemed to make a comeback.  There is a lot of advertising today regarding RV trips and different states in the country inviting you to come for a visit to see what they have to offer.

Every state has its major attractions and you can familiarize yourself with the best road trips in Texas, should that end up being the destination of your choice.  

Texas is known for doing everything big and this will be especially true when you stop along the different places to get food for fuel to keep on going.  There is a place in Texas where you can challenge eating 72 oz. steak in one hour, if you should lose, you must pay $72.00 to the restaurant. I don’t know any other place in the good old USA where that is possible except in the state of Texas.  I wonder how many people thought they were capable of taking on that kind of challenge of devouring a king size steak in one setting.  Texas is also the home of the gigantic burgers.  So in short, bring a king-size appetite because I don’t believe you will be too successful eating just salad.  Although, I think it would be interesting to know how large of a salad they would be willing to make.

If you are one of those individuals that take frequent road trips owning a mobile home is the very best possible thing that you could do because know exactly how your big bucks are going to be spent.  Probably on food, gas, and souvenirs.

When families are doing road trips, parents realize the importance of factoring the kids into the trip.  One must remember that children and teens can become very restless and bored if they are not constantly being entertained by something of interest.  Amusement parks, zoos, National Parks and other activities that can take up considerable time are a way for parents to not go insane while trying to keep the kids occupied.  Some parts of Texas is equipped with caves and caverns that you can explore with your children.  There is even a Christmas Tree farm in Texas.  And don’t forget to tell the little cowboys in your brood that there is a dude ranch you will take them to if they promise to stop fighting.

Road trips always make for great family vacations, (never mind the fact the dad always has to yell at the kids in the back seat and constantly threaten to pull over and stop the car cause he just threatened your kid sister) However, even though Texas is our Lone Star state it is not isolated to only one attraction. There are many great fun and beautiful things to see and do in the state of Texas and remember you can always do them in what Texas calls, “A big way.”

Five Beautiful Classic Motorcycles

Moto Guzzi V8 This motorcycle has a reputation every bit as spectacular as its appearance. The Moto Guzzi V8 was a bike designed specifically for racing. It has a protected front end that helps to house its V8 engine. This bike set speed records in the 1950’s, reaching speeds in excess of 175mph.  It was discontinued in 1957, making it an extremely rare find for any collection.

Indian Chief This motorcycle was first built in 1947, and is still considered one of the most impressive looking motorcycles ever manufactured.  The Indian rearranged some of the key components to make a sleek looking bike that provided a much smoother ride.  The Indian is an absolute staple in most modern collections, and is still frequently driven today.

Henderson Excelsior Streamline In some (very) old movies, police officers can be seen driving up in what looks like a covered motorcycle.  This is the Henderson Excelsior Streamline.  This bike was at the absolute top of modern technology and innovative features in 1929.  It sported everything from a more efficient engine, to a lighted speed dial. Unfortunately, the Henderson company was short lived.  It was closed in 1931 as the money ran out with the great depression.  This bike is a beautiful piece for any collection, but can be very difficult to find.

Harley Davidson WLA This motorcycle was designed by Harley Davidson specifically for use in World War Two.  It had modified features to make it safer and to increase its stability on the battlefield.  These motorcycles were made for heavy duty off-roading, while still keeping to a sleek and uncomplicated design.  Any time that you see an army green vintage bike, it is more than likely one of these beauties.  Every one of these motorcycles comes with a unique history, and are considered a valuable piece of history to own.

Become Part of the Legacy While You Ride

The Hell’s Angels are by far the most famous, or rather the most infamous, but they were not the first.  Following World War II, the outlaw motorcycle gang came into being in 1947 with a brawl made famous in the movie The Wild Ones.  The fight between members of the Boozefighters and the Pissed Off Bastards of Bloomington, California brought this new and much more rowdy type of biker club into the spotlight.  IN response to the media’s craving for the reasons behind the brawl, the American Motorcyclist Association famously replied that 99% of bikers were law-abiding and that this last one percent, represented by those who had been involved in the fight, were in fact “outlaws.”  And thus mythos of the motorcycle gang was born.

The Hell’s Angels, depending on which account you believe, were founded in either 1948 or 1953 by former members of the Pissed Off Bastards and other motorcycling clubs.  It gained a reputation for violence that the club vehemently denies, but the association that was spawned between biker gangs and violence has become deeply ingrained in the American psyche.

None of the so-called one percenters’ clubs are recognized by the AMA as lawfully organized clubs.  Real motorcycle clubs are much more than a band of criminals and hooligans riding around looking for trouble, but the one percent have placed the other ninety-nine in a bad light and in a position of having to constantly prove that they are upstanding citizens.

Regardless of the public perception of motorcycle clubs, the men and women belonging to them find a great deal of satisfaction from being a member. Motorcycle clubs in Arizona, the Patriot Guard, and the Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club are changing the way that these clubs are viewed and drawing in new members who can see the benefits of joining.  

You become part of a brotherhood.  Much like soldiers who have served in war together, bikers view fellow members of the club as family and often extend that feeling of brotherhood to other motorcyclists they meet as they ride.

Motorcycle clubs have a very specific order and a code of conduct. Respect and discipline are very naturally part of being a member, respect for your fellow riders as well as the discipline to control yourself and show that respect for others.  

Motorcycle clubs are a brilliant way of drawing attention to your mission. Riding into town with a hundred Harleys growling and Yamahas singing and all that beautiful shining chrome is sure to draw the eye to the bikes, the riders, and their reason for riding.  Motorcycle clubs in Arizona to California commit themselves to community service projects or advocate for those who are in need, whether it be victims of child abuse or the families of fallen soldiers.  

As the saying goes, there’s safety in numbers, and this is especially true for bikers.  One motorcyclist is easily missed by a driver in a car changing lanes, but twenty, fifty, or hundred bikes?  Being seen is the key to a safe ride.

Clubs also give bikers a chance to see and ride the latest motorcycle models without ever setting foot in a dealership.  They also have opportunities to learn from their fellow members about maintenance and repair, to talk over ideas about customizing their rides, and to find out where to find the best prices on gear.
