THE JOURNEY by Mary Oliver
One day you finally knew
What you had to do, and began,
Though the voices around you
Kept shouting
Their bad advice ---
Though the whole house
Began to tremble
And you felt the old tug
At your ankles.
"Mend my life!"
Each voice cried.
But you didn't stop.
You knew what you had to do,
Though the wind pried
With its stiff fingers
At the very foundations,
Though their melancholy
Was terrible.
It was already late
Enough, and a wild night,
And the road full of fallen
Branches and stones.
But little by little,
As you left their voices behind,
The stars began to burn
Through the sheets of clouds,
And there was a new voice
Which you slowly
Recognized as your own,
That kept you company
As you strode deeper and deeper
Into the world,
Determined to do
The only thing you could do ---
Determined to save
The only life that you could save.
“She did not need much, wanted very little. A kind word, sincerity, fresh air, clean water, a garden, kisses, books to read, sheltering arms, a cozy bed, and to love and be loved in return.”
— Starra Neely Blade

Sometimes it is hard for you to see,
that I am indeed lost in a sea,
or perhaps an ocean,
an ocean of you,
and I'd rather be lost there
than be found elsewhere,
for even in your shadows
there's still a tranquility,
that I wouldn't be able to find,
even in someone else's light.

Gosh, why can't we do it though?
The man I love is right by my side
Darling, your eyes are filled
With your love for me
Even if everything in the world changes
Don't ever let me go
(◕‿◕✿) It still feels so awkward and funny that I can’t even look at his face.

"I was not, in the true sense of the word, alive. I simply performed the mundane tasks that were handed to me, one after another. I never had one real friend, no human ties with the students in my charge. I never loved anyone. I no longer knew what it meant to love another person [...] Living like an empty shell is not really living, no matter how many years it may go on. The heart and flesh of an empty shell give birth to nothing more than the life of an empty shell"
— Haruki Murakami: The wind-Up bird Chronicle
I loved you with my eyes because they only saw the good in you. I loved you with my mind because I never ran out of words for you. I loved you with my heart because it still beats your name. But mostly, I loved you with my soul. Because my soul always remembers. Because my soul never forgets.
-N.R.Hart, I Loved You With My Soul *insp.
It was November— the month of crimson sunsets, parting birds, deep, sad hymns of the sea, passionate wind—songs in the pines. Anne roamed through the pineland alleys in the park and, as she said, let that great sweeping wind blow the fogs out of her soul.
L.M Montgomery; Anne of Green Gables
