reblog to fire a medium laser
Back on another hitch.
Tropical heat is not a fucking joke.
I am a jingling handful of change's worth of degrees south of the equator and Jesus H Christ
"I'm from Texas I'll be fine" no little southern boy YOU WILL NOT
It's all fucking ladders on this ship.
Ladder down to the forepeak. Ladder to the afterpeak. Ladder down to the paint locker. Ladder down to the Ladder to get up the cranes. Ladder to the kitchen provisions storage. I'm done with ladders. Ladder. Ladder. Word doesn't even sound real.

My biggest project so far! A baker's dozen in the (non-canon) scheme of the 3rd Draconis Strike Regiment. This scheme only exists as a fanmade scheme on UnitColorCompendium, but I wanted to get away from the flat red, so...
Shiro, Avatar, Akuma, Grand Dragon, and Inferno. The Inferno is a new design, only available in metal so far from IWM. It does, however, speak to me in a nice kind of way.
Venom, Hitotsume-Kozo, Phoenix Hawk IIC, and Panther. The Hito is also only available from IWM, and it makes me wonder why they didn't go for it to round out the trio of Shiro/Hito/Roku.
Shadow Hawk IIC, Rokurokubi, Chimera, Griffin IIC. Speaking of the Roku, look at that little ankle biter. Played against one at the shop, and launched a Charger C at it for a 10 hex charge. 80 damage to that 35 ton mech and it didn't even break armor. Jesus christ.
Some glamour shots of the samurai trio. I am *especially* proud of those swords.
This is the largest batch I've ever done at once and I'm shocked it only took me about two weeks to pull off, even if a not insignificant portion of that was distracted by playing MW5.
Clan Smoke Jaguar, Alpha Galaxy
Add this to my Shadow Cat and we've got an understrength binary, or two lances if you're a dirty unwashed spheroid. Turkina, Mist Lynx, Naga II, Stormcrow, Timber Wolf, Summoner, and Dire Wolf.
Yes, that first one *is* a Turkina and I am *damn* proud of it. Try as I might I cannot bring myself to love CGL's Roswell reject take me to your leader lookin ahh. The body and legs are from SMB's Turkina II, which is a wholly fanmade design, and I grafted the arms of a CGL Turkina to it. Looks appropriately falcon-like to me now. Also VLS missiles my beloved.
God it feels good to get back in the swing of things. I'd much rather spend my off time on the ship painting than laying in my bunk scrolling, but bringing all my hobby gear is definitely non-feasible.
Iron Cheetah, and a Huntsman!
the best colors ever actually
for those gradient enjoyers
On November 28, 2018, WildStar shut down. At that point, I've been playing for about 2-3 years with my husband (then my boyfriend) and our friends. Seven years later, it still occupies a special place in my heart. There were many characters we RPed as we played, but none so haunting to me as Avell Lunarswift and Sylas Frostmoon, the Aurin couple that my husband and I RPed together. I've drawn them over the years because their story remains unfinished and, sometimes, I would think about them and remember the game that's gone but I could never ever forget.
Sylas and Avell in the game's wedding outfits is wishful thinking on my part. Maybe there's an alternate universe wherein WildStar didn't shut down and we'd still be playing to arrive at this point in our characters' stories. But for now, it floats in the ether, locked away inside my heart.
Painting Minis: relaxing, joyous, an avenue to release creativity
Assembling Minis: suffering, pain, endless frustration
Assembling minis: I am an artisan at work. I'm creating kitbashes hitherto unconcieved of. CGL wishes they had sauce like me. Truly I am unstoppable.
Painting minis: oh god oh fuck the white's too white oh jesus the wash stained it oh fuck im gonna have to strip it and start all over fuck my stupid dezgra life
what do we think of this lad.
he's getting anti-aircraft targeting as a quirk btw on account of the head turret
Definitely a mech!
In fact, I'd say it's easily one of the mechs of all time!
Jokes aside, I love love love oddball equipment. Could definitely catch me running this.

Quickdraw 2nd Sword of Light
youve almost found me
Seeing people talk about "The Drifter" and having to go to the tags to figure out if it's a Destiny post or a Warframe post.
Neither are games I play anymore but I keep it in my followed tags for nostalgia.
Destiny Rising, however... it's got a little hook in me, not gonna lie.
Back from Korea, first thing I do is pick up an exacto and go to town. Please enjoy this BLR-1S. The S stands for Shitbox, BTW. Would you like to have not one, not two, but *three* ammobombs in your Beemer? No? Fuck you. This bad boy swaggers onto the field with, get this: an LRM-15, an LRM-5, and *two* SRM-2s. And just to kick you in the shmeckel, you lose your rear-mounted MLs.
LCAF, baby, what is you doing?
I forgot to post it here
These pictures are mushier than expected but just lean back from the screen a bit and they'll be better. Please enjoy the last lance I painted before going back to work.
1. Ostsol OTL-4D -- He is literally just a guy. I hate to say it, but the Dragon might just have been dethroned as my favorite fast raider heavy. Especially when you get the lostech version with a full battery of pulse lasers? Mmf.
2. Blackjack BJ2-OA -- Once again I proclaim my love for Inner Sphere Omnimechs. Yes, I know that there's technically only 15 tubes, hush now. They were exactly the right size.
3. Rifleman -- Visually similar to a RFL-8D, I sliced on these Steel Rift bits because I hate hate hate the visual profile of the standard CGL Rifleman. I dunno what it is, but it just don't hit. This, however. This looks like lean mean aircraft-killin' machine.
4. Super Griffin GRF-2N-X -- I love ugly ducklings. I love one offs. I love technology demonstrators. The YF-23 should have won the contract... ahem. Literally one of a kind, chock full of prototype improved jump jets. Slower base speed, since it's now a 60 tonner, but 4/6/6 is decent.
Fun tidbit about the Blackjack: those missile bits are from the Hardwar line of minis, formerly by Strato Minis, now owned and maybe relaunching soon(tm) by Modiphius. Depending on how the Corp wants to monetize it... old bits like that may soon be unobtanium. Like tears in rain, Scoob...
