How to praise your demon by Ciel Phantomhive
âI must be rather firm about this. I know it is hard to request, but you are going to have to trust me. After all, is it not better that I have it? In your position, William may find a means to have those privileges revoked. I donât think that you want another messy incident where you are reduced to mere scissors again, would you? You are more useful to me..â
.. and the young master.. a part of his thinking that he did not voiceâŠ.Â
â..fully armed. However, the job I have for you is rather personal and requires a bit of fineness. It would put my mine at ease.â, He kept his gloved hand moving. His mind already moving two steps ahead for if the reaper didnât relinquish his death scythe and had to be escorted away so he could complete his many other tasks. Â
He hesitated, weighing up Sebastianâs points. William would likely have more reason to take his scythe privileges away if he handed it over so casually to a demon.
âNo, no darling, Iâm willing to take the risk and keep hold of it. Donât fret about it. It wont see light of day unless Iâm really given need to use it. Besides why would I need my scythe if youâre intent on showing me the tour of the bedroom. Come along~â He smiled warmly, âdonât just stand there, I promise I can do marvelous things with my hands with or without my scythe within reach.â
âOh, those marvelous hands are what I am counting on.â, He smirked in amusement, lowering his hand to take another gander at his trusty watch. âI suppose I really donât have time to argue. I suppose, much to my chagrin, your word is going to have to do for now.âÂ
Of course, he will have to place his mind in three places at once for everything to go off without a hitch. Still, with Grellâs help with the more personal matter, he will be more focused on the hospitality of the young masterâs guest. However, the redheadâs short temper may be more harm then good... which would make for an eventful evening, without doubt.
He continued to lead on down the corridors of the servantsâ quarters. âI wouldnât call it a tour. Think of it as you having a personal task for me. A favor.â
Grell turned and stared at him for a long moment, eyes flickering up and down, assessing him. Slowly a wide grin split his lips, and he all out laughed.
âOh Bassy darling, you are funny. You must have bumped your head and mistaken me for someone elseâŠGive you my death scythe~ Oh thatâs priceless darling. No, no, Iâll be keeping hold of it. Just donât give me reason to use it and it wont even come out~â
Turning on his heel, Grell continued on his way with a chortle of laughter.
âWhich way to the bedroom?â
âI must be rather firm about this. I know it is hard to request, but you are going to have to trust me. After all, is it not better that I have it? In your position, William may find a means to have those privileges revoked. I donât think that you want another messy incident where you are reduced to mere scissors again, would you? â..fully armed. However, the job I have for you is rather personal and requires a bit of fineness. It would put my mine at ease.â, He kept his gloved hand moving. His mind already moving two steps ahead for if the reaper didnât relinquish his death scythe and had to be escorted away so he could complete his many other tasks. Â
âOf course. Be it as it mayâŠÂ â, he takes a moment to look over his stop watch. âItâs nearly time for the young masterâs afternoon tea and meeting with the contractor regarding an expansion to one of the factories.â, He snapped the lid closed and paced the treasured item back into his vest pocket. â⊠and since you are even more useless then the current help I have at my disposal, I couldnât possibly make the time. Nor can I stall you till William comes to collect you.â
âOh come now~ Iâm sure thereâs something I could do to help youâŠâ Grell smirked, batting his lashes and giving a delighted wiggle.
âIâm not completely useless, you just havenât gotten to experience what Iâm good at yet. Iâd be more than happy to show you of course. You donât even have to ask, Iâd be happy to obligeâŠâ
He stepped past Sebastian and into the manor, as if he owned the place, looking about as he went. âI assure you, I can take your mind off all those pesky choresâŠâ
He did need some side entertainment for the evening. And if that meant entertaining the reaper for a time, then so be it. Just, not in the manner the redhead was anticipating.Â
âI suppose... there is something you can do for me.â
A slight smirk turns a sinister grin as the heels of Grellâs shoes clack by him. âFollow me. Itâs in my quarters.... and it would put some of my stress to ease. Iâm sure you have just the zell and steady hand to get it done.. Oh... and one other small detail.âÂ
He holds his hand out to Grell, âI will holding on to your deathscythe from here on out. It will be returned to you once you depart the manner, but I canât have any misshapes. Is that understood?âÂ
Holding out a gloved hand, âIâm afraid that is not part of my duty list for today, Grell. I donât see a spot of such things in the near or distant future either. You do have a job to do, yes? Or has all death stopped in London?â
âAlas Death is one of the worlds great constants, as you should well know Sebas-chan~ However, I can always find a little time to squeeze you inâŠâ He gave a waggle of his eyebrows, leaning in close.
âOf course. Be it as it may... â, he takes a moment to look over his stop watch. âItâs nearly time for the young masterâs afternoon tea and meeting with the contractor regarding an expansion to one of the factories.â, He snapped the lid closed and paced the treasured item back into his vest pocket. â... and since you are even more useless then the current help I have at my disposal, I couldnât possibly make the time. The butler exited the front doors and into the drive, awaiting an expected guest of the young master. He pulls out his pocket watch and noticed that it was a bit... off.. he arched a brow and tapped on the glass with his glove-cad finger.
âThat .... may become a problem. At least it is running early.â

âIt appears we have some guests⊠tell me, what brings you to the doorstep of my lord this fine evening?â
âHello, sir.  I am inquiring about a lost child.  She is approximately four feet in height, and thin as a wisp.  She wasâŠunder my care, however managed to get away.â What a conincidence.  He had stopped right at the Phantomhive manor.  Drocell wondered if the demon would remember him. âHave you perhaps seen such a girl?â
âA lost child, you say? How unfortunate.â
Oh yes, the demon recognized the man very well. However, Elizabeth was a guest of the manor on a frequent occasion. As much as he, secretly, would like to give her up and say goodbye to her impromptu dinner parties and random event planning...It was the opposite of his duty as a Phantomhive butler.
âThat description could fit any number of young girls.â
âIt appears we have some guests⊠tell me, what brings you to the doorstep of my lord this fine evening?â
âWell isnât it obvious Bassy my darlingâŠâ Grell cooed, all sickly sweet and saccharin. âI came to see you my love. Now, why donât you come here and give me a nice big kiss in greeting~â
Holding out a gloved hand, âIâm afraid that is not part of my duty list for today, Grell. I donât see a spot of such things in the near or distant future either. You do have a job to do, yes? Or has all death stopped in London?â

âEarl Gray, as ordered for this afternoonâs tea. Long side are freshly made chocolate scones and a strawberry tart.â Starts to serve the tea. The smirk playing on his lips. âHonestly, sometimes I wonder if it is the taste of this particular tea or the name that has you enamored with it.â Â
