Mind-blowingly beautiful. The imagery alone nearly made me cry.. I was just staring at all the details, all the colours, all of it and thinking "this is what people are capable of doing, people are amazing, oh wow".

There were some moments when I found myself a bit bored, but I can't really explain it. Mostly I just enjoyed the ride and loved the fuck out of Leo and Tobey. They are amazing.

The ending.. I surprised myself a bit with all my bawling. At first I was like "a bit of a tear", next I noticed I could actually see the reflection of the stream of tears on the inside of my 3D glasses. I don't know how that happened. Massive Gatsby feels, they just caught me by surprise.

Ugh, it seems I can't write a movie review without turning into a hysterical fangirl. So I'll just leave this here with my warmest of recommendations.

FINALLY. I HAVE SEEN IT. We drove 800 kilometres to see this in a special screening, but it was so worth it.

(Some small spoilers, tread carefully if you haven't seen it yet.)

I'd be a bit embarrassed, really, if you had any idea how frustrated I truly was over seeing this movie before it was spoiled to me on the internet. (Well, if you're read all my rants about it, then you know. It got a little too far, I admit..)

I expected so much and I got even more. It was way better than the first Trek. I sat in my chair, squeezing the life out of my own hands and arms and popcorn buckets and whatever I could get a hold on. At times I realised I was breathing way too shallow & quick while flailing my arms around just because people were falling and fighting and shooting and it was all so visually mind-blowing.

I got sucked in so badly I was having trouble finding my way out.

The whole "shooting dudes out of a hole into space" scene.. I wanted to scream. Beautiful, in all its nerve-wrecking excitement. That scene between Spock and Kirk. Ugh, waterworks. A volcano, dude! The people of the red planet! So many details I can't even remember right now as I'm ranting on.

And then, shit:

This dude right here in the picture, you can't possibly understand how excited I was about this movie for him. I'm talking proud mama feels of a grown-ass man. I'm talking freaking out about it for him.

He's the biggest thing for me, ever, out of all the actors I've ever adored and I couldn't wait to see how his first ever big Hollywood role was gonna play out. And he did so good he did so gooood. He's been getting spaceshiploads of praise for his work from everyone: the critics, the fellow cast members, the fans.. and the humble silly thing he is, he can just barely stomach it.

So yeah. I can't really be 100% objective about this film, since there's the Batch factor and since I've totally fallen in love with the whole cast but.. who cares? It's my blog and my fangirl life and I LOVE WHAT I WANT!

Going to see this again this Sunday. Happy, happy me. Thank you J.J. for making me a happy, happy girl. Ugh!

Well shiver me timbers! I've seen this movie before just a few months ago, but I couldn't find any comments about it in my blog. So here goes - this one's for both of the viewings.

I LOVED IT MORE THAN I THOUGHT I WOULD. Really! What a wonderful, funny cast (just check out the gag reel) and all sorts of likable things. I've never been a Trekkie but I've seen a lot of the old stuff. Who hasn't? But for some reason it took me a while to check out J.J.'s doings.

Well, Mr. Abrams, nicely done. I'm very entertained. No deeper analysis here as I wouldn't deep-analyze a good hamburger either. Very enjoyable fast food for dem brainzz.

Oh, and casting Zachary Quinto? Bravo. Best casting I've seen in a long while.

The Cosmonaut is a crowdfunded movie by Nicolás Alcalá. It was so much more than I expected. Obviously, when you hear the word "sci-fi", you'll expect something more spacey-wacey and action-filled. Something less organic, something less.. well, the only word that comes to mind is "beautiful".

The cinematography was surprisingly unique and pretty, and the story complex enough to leave you just a little bit confused & puzzled. I pretty much enjoyed all the actors' performances as well and might have a little crush on both main dudes. Oops, did I say that out loud?

Anyway. Guess what's the best thing about this film? Lemme tell you: it's now downloadable for free HERE. That's a pretty decent price for a film like this.

20 years later and I still almost shit my pants several times during the movie. It's quite amazing and definitely worth watching in 3D, especially if you haven't even seen it to begin with. The next generation.. off you go now, go see the dinosaurs. Chop chop.

A three ep miniseries. I've been having a Tennant situation lately, ok? So I had to watch this one as well, even though I'm not that much into political thrillers and dramas and whatnots.

But I must say.. it was a rather nice watch. If not for anything else, then for David's immaculate performance.. once again.
