There is nothing by the door but dust and fallen plaster. Rize straightens and brushes off her skirt. She’s taking her time--she can afford to. There’s no way Kichiro will escape her; she can smell the blood slicking his palms and taste the fear swimming in his veins.
After Rize has wrapped her dainty fingers around the doorknob, she pulls it. And then she steps out of the way. The door squeaks before toppling over, landing with a bang! on the floor. Rize rolls her eyes, steps over it, and walks through the doorway.
The streetlights have turned on. They illuminate the road eerily. Rize looks up and down the street, sniffing the air. A grin stretches across her lips when she picks up Kichiro’s scent. “Found you,” she says. Her kagune curls around her while she runs down the road. “I simply adore this part of the game! I hope you’re having as much fun as I am, Kichiro-kun~”
Once Rize reaches the train tracks, she skids to a halt. “Come out, come out wherever you are...” A trail of blood mars the tracks. In the distance, a train horn blares, but she pays it no mind. “It’s not polite to tease a lady like this, you know...”
Skipping along the tracks, she looks from left to right. “I wonder if Edward-kun’s fear will be as tasty as yours. What do you think?” She grins evilly. “Oh... does that make you mad? Are you angry with me, Kichiro-kun? I’m so sorry--I hope you’ll forgive me...”
Rize spots a pile of boxes. They look like the perfect hiding place for someone of Kichiro’s size. But before she can hop over to them, the tracks beneath her feet start to rumble. A blinding bright light shines in her face. And the train horn she had heard earlier screams in her ear.
Rize’s eyes widen. She stumbles off the tracks, but trips. Her legs catch under the wheels of the engine, and are torn to shreds. Rize screams in agony; her blood is pooling under her, spraying around her, and staining her dress red.
Digging her nails into the dirt, she drags herself away from the tracks, panting. Her breath clouds in the cold air. She’s shaking all over. Kichiro is the furthest thing from her mind--she has to stop the bleeding. Sparks arc across her shattered legs, starting her regeneration.
