Hakyeon, still sleeping peacefully, didn’t notice when the other demigod joined him, didn’t notice when he was stared at and if somebody would have had bad intent, Hakyeon probably wouldn’t have noticed either. The young man seemed almost dead to his surroundings, still too deep in sleep to really notice what was going on. He had really pushed himself too hard; at least his sleep was dreamless.

Hakyeon didn’t notice anything going on around him until suddenly, the smell of food slowly made him aware; moving slightly in his sleep, curling up a little at first and slowly reaching to grab a pillow and hug it. The last time Hakyeon had been awake he had been a fox, sleeping in the grass - grass where there was no pillows; and that realization made him suddenly start awake, sitting up fast and almost falling over himself as he backed up against the wall, eyes wandering quickly. Where was he?

And then he noticed the man.

He didn’t recall having seen him before, or had he? He was no friend, so much Hakyeon could tell, and the fox ears sitting on his head moved fast and nervous as he quietly listened to the sound of the pan, nose crinkling a little as he took in the smell of eggs and it took him another moment to realize that not only he wasn’t in the park anymore but also, he was now in his human form. He could only assume the other had found him as a fox. Or when did he change back?

Realization| Wonshik && Hakyeon

Hakyeon hadn’t really felt like going out for drinks that particular night - Hakyeon had felt more going to the park and watching the stars because he knew it would be another sleepless one, escaping the noise, everyone else and just life. It would have been a great, silent night but also, Hakyeon couldn’t leave his friend hanging and he had already promised that he would spend the night with him; Wonshik hadn’t looked good, the demigod had noticed when he was asked to hang out, and so it took him only a second instead of two before he nodded and agreed to drag along. If it was for a friend, it was okay to make sacrifices; and he didn’t mind making sacrifices for Wonshik. Hakyeon really liked Wonshik, as a very good friend, a person he could trust completely. Hakyeon really liked Wonshik, and he hoped that Wonshik felt the same way about him.

The night was still calm, probably because it wasn’t that late yet, people weren’t falling around wasted and loudly yet; it was alright even though Hakyeon had been sipping on the same drink for almost an hour now - he wasn’t too good handling alcohol, really, and he probably shouldn’t even have this one drink. This fact however was seemingly enough reason for a young woman to approach him and ask him about why he was drinking so slowly; "Saving money" he responded with a small smile (he felt a bit embarrassed admitting that his tolerance level was low, and only a few selected people were allowed to know, Wonshik included). The light was dim but Hakyeon could see just fine; the woman didn’t look bad at all, and her personality seemed nice too. If Hakyeon was interested, he’d probably think he was lucky. But right now, he just felt bad because he was distracted from paying attention to Wonshik.

It took a few minutes until he realized the young woman wouldn’t give up on the chat just yet; and she had eased him into a conversation about things so comfortable, he caught himself forgetting about Wonshik suddenly - an apologetic look toward the friend waiting, and despite in his mind still rejecting his interest, his body language slowly became more open the more he realized that she seemed okay; smart enough, nice enough to be interesting.

Hakyeon had been convinced when he went out after waking up in the late morning that, yes, today was a good day. Honestly, he had thought he was in good condition, had gotten enough sleep and therefore also, that he could practice his abilities well. Hakyeon was still working hard on staying in his fox form for a longer period of time; and he slowly, just slowly had started noticing change. The past few weeks, most of his free time had been spent shifting, holding for as long as he could, and only little resting. In order to get change, the body needs to be put under stress; and so far it seemed to be working. Hakyeon himself knew it was stupid, that there was no rush to become the best and then again, his fox form was the one he was the most comfortable in.

He hadn’t expected to run out of energy this fast, hadn’t expected that all this practicing would take a toll on him today, especially after waking up feeling completely energized and fine. It was bad, to the point the exhaustion had him stumble even on four feet and he knew, he needed to find a safe place to rest. Somewhere where he wouldn’t be completely exposed to random passerbies, but also somewhere where he could be found in case he wouldn’t wake up soon enough to not have a friend worried.

It took him just a moment until he found a spot that he deemed safe enough, shaking slightly as he curled up into a ball. The exhaustion didn’t wait much longer, lulled him into a deep sleep within seconds as soon as he had laid down and refused to let him go again for way longer than he had intended; Hakyeon had hoped that he would wake up once being good enough to go to his room, to continue his rest there, on his bed and away from possible spectators.

Yet, against his hopes, he barely noticed somebody picking him up. Maybe just a dream, maybe real? Hakyeon couldn’t tell, and Hakyeon wasn’t strong enough to check what was going on either let alone protest. Soft cushions subconsciously told him that he was safe, however, and his tail wagged once, weakly when he was left in peace and alone again - when he could happily curl up into warmth and relax. But Hakyeon didn’t notice when he shifted back into his normal, human form while he rested.

He rarely to never did notice, and neither did he today as he stayed curled up on the pile of cushions and kept sleeping to recover. The only thing giving him away were the fox ears sitting on his head, twitching occasionally when his dreams changed.

Sweet Surprise | Hyuk & Hakyeon

A huff escaped the older male, the teasing having him pause momentarily but then he only shook his head. “I’m not getting old yet, just getting wiser… sort of. Drinking coffee is like finally understanding the meaning of being an adult.” He tried speaking in a sing-song voice, picking up a towel just to have something in hands.

Hakyeon didn’t like the thought of becoming older; when people expected him to act his age. And although he often did, in the end, the times when he felt so much younger were still more than the times he actually felt like an adult. “Until now I have never hurt myself, so I must be doing at least something right. Sleep doesn’t come so easy” he sighed then, however a soft smile kept lingering on his lips. Hakyeon wouldn’t say it, but Hyuk couldn’t get upset about it when he kept the thought to himself – the younger man was still cute as he remembered.

His eyes followed until Hyuk had taken his seat, and then he continued in silence. Albeit he was smiling now, kind of excited yet not rushing – or maybe a little bit rushed at least – since he needed to fill the time either way, whether he finished fast or slow.

It took a while, and Hakyeon had not only lost his smile but also track of time when it was finally shift change and he disappeared to the staff room to change clothes. His shirt was still full of flour dust from baking hours ago; and was replaced by a simple white one. His ears, now released, were quickly hidden under a beanie; he mostly hid them at work because of hygiene anyway. There was no reason to hide them from Hyuk, but he would only show them after explanations.

The situation was still unreal; there was Hyuk waiting outside at a table for him. The Hyuk he hadn’t seen in years and thought he’d never see again; in fact, he thought he had left behind most of his past life behind without a trace yet here he was and he was more than glad. How had he never noticed the other being here?

Somehow it felt like a cheesy love story right now as realization properly hit him, just… with less love and more friendship, or maybe a friendship kind of love. Either way it felt weird, but Hakyeon was also happy and he left the staff area with a wide smile, his backpack on one shoulder when he sat down next to the younger man. “Did you enjoy your hot chocolate? I’m sorry you had to wait so long but I’m all free now.”

Hakyeon didn’t care whether Hyuk was rich or not – it was just a small gesture which he really didn’t want to be taken away from him. And considering he was older, maybe it had something to do with pride as well; a little bit at least. Although he wasn’t quite sure himself, the fact that Hyuk took them as a gift from him made him smile a little brighter either way. Hakyeon knew it probably wasn’t much, definitely not enough for the times they’ve missed together, but something. For now at least.

“For some reason, I’m glad” Hakyeon admitted, hearing that the other still wasn’t a fan of coffee; as ever. It was one thing that hadn’t changed, even if it was just a small one and probably not even mentionable. “I’ve started drinking coffee a lot, for the past few months only, I kind of gave in” he continued speaking as he went on to prepare the hot chocolate as promised. Hakyeon didn’t use to like coffee, because it was bitter. It was sort of acceptable when he put syrup in. Syrup and sugar. Sometimes just a lot of sugar. He really preferred sweet things after all.

His eyes were focused on his task, yet his mind was focused on the other man and so he continued talking. “Because I’ve been sleeping less, I kind of need something to stay awake. It’s not really working though.” Hakyeon chuckled quietly at his own words even though they weren’t really funny, but he didn’t mean to appear serious either. It was just him feeling more awake at night times that made it kind of impossible to always be wide awake when he had to work. But he never felt it was that much of an issue as long as he did well.

Hakyeon finished by carefully putting a few small chocolate chips on top of the drink for decoration, making sure that they wouldn’t drown in it before handing the mug over with both hands and a smile, still honest and caring. “Just sit down wherever and I can join you when I’m done.”

[past] New Beginning ; Inari & Hakyeon

Things had changed, Hakyeon once again realized sitting there crossed-legged on green grounds in the park, mindlessly plucking at the grass around him. It had been a while that he had left home, when he had left to travel by himself to learn more about himself. It had actually been about two years that he had no ways of coming home to a family anymore - simply being greeted with just a hello instead of empty walls.

He couldn’t explain why, but now that he had finally found a place where he could settle, where he could rest and didn’t have to continue searching aimlessly - a new home so to say -, it suddenly bothered him so much more than ever before. It had only been a week that he had come here, and he felt tired of it already.

Hakyeon wasn’t used to having absolutely nobody to lean on. Maybe it was a bit ironic, considering how he had managed to make friends so fast all the while he travelled, but now? He was in a place where he knew he could and would fit in if he wanted to, and still, he found himself not fitting in at all. Maybe it was just how he suddenly understood that even though his family hadn’t exactly supported how he was different from the norm, he still could rely on them when he had to.

The young man continued plucking at grass quietly, a heavy sigh falling from his lips as suddenly something or someone came to his attention. The fox ears on his head twitched, eyes darting up to look who was spying – he was sure he had heard something, his enhanced senses never lied. And when a white fox showed itself to the demigod, he knew exactly who had been watching him. “You?”

He’d lie if he said that he wasn’t curious, and yet, it took him a while to understand that the animal wanted him to follow. Slowly, Hakyeon lifted himself from the ground and pat his bottom to get rid of dirt, steps that were at first wary becoming more and more confident as he followed the fox who kept turning to make sure that he was still following. Only the border of the forest made him stop for a second. Really?

If he was careful where he went, he’d remember the way back, he figured, nodding to himself - and maybe to the fox also who seemed to actually wait for him to take a step further -, walking into the woods. His focus was on the white creature guiding his way, and it was only after a while of walking that something else caught his attention. A cottage; his head tilted slightly in surprise and he took a few steps closer, realized too late that maybe he shouldn’t. He wanted to look back to the fox, but it was gone. And Hakyeon was lost - yet somehow something told him that this was exactly where he was supposed to be.

Hidden Playgrounds ; Youngjae & Hakyeon

“Okay, so there’s this place where we should totally go together, but you need to promise me first that you’re not going to chicken out right away without considering it first” Hakyeon spoke in a playful tone of voice, seated cross-legged on the bed of his friend as he looked at him with expectation. His fingers were curled into the sleeves of his slightly oversized white and blue striped sweater, eyes practically smiling at the other as he didn’t really pay much attention to hide his excitement about his idea.

The bright expression on his face easily told how much he really wanted to carry out the idea, and yet the way his shoulders were pulled up just slightly revealed enough that he was just as nervous about the suggestion as the other would probably be once he spoke it out loud. Hakyeon sometimes did have weird ideas, ideas you’d think he was joking about at first, and today was yet another day where he would allow the inner child with the weirder thoughts to come out - he was running out of playgrounds after all, he needed to explore.

He was pretty sure that Youngjae would reject the moment he would speak up about his plans, but he would give it a try anyway. Asking would never hurt, and for several reasons, Youngjae had been the first person he had thought about when he had first come up with it. “You know, the forest” his grin widened just a little bit, “I really want to go there. Not that deep inside, just checking it out. Us two. Like... an adventure.”

The demigod’s fox ears twitched in mild enthusiasm and he pressed his lips together, forcing himself to tone down his grin a little. He had been thinking about it for a few days as well as in the past, and he was definitely determined to go now. Even if the other chose not to come along, he’d probably just go alone.

Aren’t We Friends? - Wonshik + Hakyeon

“Ah…” Hakyeon let out a soft sound, his eyes wandering back forward and hands pushing into his jeans pockets as he thought about Wonshik’s explanation. You Only Live Once and Forever Young. The quotes sounded stupid and generic, really, but then again how the other explained why he got them not so stupid after all. Hakyeon was a bit at loss how to respond.

He realized that with asking about the other’s tattoos, he had hit a topic with which they definitely had nothing in common, and therefore was probably a weak point to carry a conversation. The farthest he would probably ever go were his pierced earlobes, and those were a challenge already.

“I don’t think I would ever get a tattoo” he eventually continued after a few seconds of thought how to comment on the body art without accidentally having words slip that seemed negative, glancing over at the man again. “I’m not a fan of needles.” And Hakyeon went quiet again, for a moment their steps the only sound audible, and he lowered his gaze to the ground. At least the store wasn’t all too far and actually on the way to the house as well. Thankfully.

The demigod scolded himself inwardly. Had he paid more attention the past few weeks, he would already know what to talk about. He would know how to carry a conversation with the guy who (kind of unfortunately, seeing how things were going right now) was from the same pantheon as him as well. And he would know how to not have things turn completely awkward.

Moreover, had he given the guy a chance earlier, he probably wouldn’t be stuck walking home together with someone who was basically a stranger to him still. It was a bit unfair, he wondered, but his own fault either way.

Sweet Surprise | Hyuk & Hakyeon

Hakyeon raised his brows at the boy as he ordered all three, but without question picked one of the cupcake boxes fitted for three of the sweet treats and put the box down in front of him. “Of course they are” he answered, voice warm and a smile still present on his lips as he slipped on a plastic glove on his right hand for hygiene, “my taste buds have never betrayed me before. Ever.” Hakyeon shot another short glance up at the younger male, his eyes turning smiles before he reached to take out the cupcakes he had recommended the other. Carefully, he put them into the box while making sure they wouldn’t get damaged.

Pistachio, strawberry and white chocolate cream, he repeated inwardly and took a deep breath as he closed the lid of the box and his smile slowly vanished into a neutral expression. It was kind of still, well, unbelievable to have somebody in arm’s reach he had thought he wouldn’t see ever again. It would probably still take him a little longer to actually grasp the reality of the situation they were currently in.

“You’ll get them for free, tall child with your lucky genes” he finally spoke again then, taking off the glove and throwing it away into the trashcan positioned at the corner behind before picking up the box with both hands and holding it out to the other. Only when holding them out he looked back up again and tried to catch Hyuk’s eyes. “I’ve missed so many of your birthdays too, right? I’ll pay for the cupcakes, so just take it.” Hakyeon himself would have to pay for them, but that was alright. He felt like it was the least he to do right now, after just disappearing without a word.

“If you want” he started again, “I can make you hot chocolate too and you can eat here? The hour should pass fast. I… Or do you prefer coffee?” Hakyeon was unsure, and it was visible in his expression. How his nose scrunched slightly as he thought, how his head tilted just a bit and how he looked at the other in question, eyes just a tad narrowed. Hyuk had grown up. And frankly this only meant that Hakyeon didn’t know anything about him anymore. Or at least very little.

Aren’t We Friends? - Wonshik + Hakyeon

“Cool” Hakyeon’s response was short, yet he managed to smile a bit wider for the man who was obviously trying. He didn’t want to appear like a complete jerk, he knew that he wasn’t. But Hakyeon still didn’t know what to say, still couldn’t wake up his interest in the other and therefore, his response remained what it was, and nothing else was added. There was a voice in the back of his head scolding himself to give the poor guy a chance, and he would try to do exactly that, but… He didn’t particularly dislike Wonshik, so what chances was he giving when there were none to give?

His smile fell again as he continued thinking about what was going on in his head, and eventually, he nodded, walking past the man to leave the bakery first. Another goodbye was spoken into the room and fresh air tickled his skin already mere seconds later. He assumed that Wonshik was following close, he could hear the door being shut behind him even though the sound was just a quiet one, and he could hear the footsteps approaching. He waited for the man to catch up and walk next to him before he moved onwards, heading straight toward the store. He didn’t need much, just necessities to live. Tea, and cup noodles… Mostly that.

“What about your tattoos?” Hakyeon suddenly was the first of the two to speak again, and he was pretty sure that he would surprise Wonshik with that action. In the past month, Hakyeon had never been the one to initiate a conversation between them after all. “What do they say? Didn’t they hurt?” He shot Wonshik a quick look through big dark eyes; he’d at least try to look interested, just this once.

He was a friend of silent walking, but he didn’t like awkward silences and this situation dared to become one huge awkward silence would he continue short replying to the other man in the same way he used to. The tattoos probably were still the most exciting thing he could be asking about Wonshik, and yet his interest was rather short-lived. It was definitely safe to blame his general first impression for this matter as well.

The boy seemed to be thinking about what Hakyeon had said, just like himself because even though it was a childish thought, it wasn’t a question that was simply answered. He must have said something right though, because the distance Naoise had put between them when he had first sat down was suddenly closed again. And then he moved even closer than that. Hakyeon was too slow to realize what the other was implying with his whisper, when foreign lips were ghosting over his own and he could feel the other’s breath tickling his skin; before he put his own request into actions, soft lips pressing against his own and the young man suddenly felt the impact of his words that had been spoken in a mere attempt of cheering up a person he didn’t even know.

The fox ears twitched, his eyes widening in a moment of shock. Ending up in a situation like this was the last thing Hakyeon had imagined would happen when he had decided to go for a late night walk - starting from finding a stranger crying on a random park bench to kissing said stranger, all of it seemed very unlikely to happen and, especially now, surreal from beginning to end. He couldn’t hide his surprise in a moment of hesitation of whether or how he should respond, briefly pulling back from the other’s lips just to return the kiss again not even a second later.

Whatever drove him to the decision that it was an okay thing to do, Hakyeon didn’t know and Hakyeon wasn’t going to think about it right now either. Whatever made it okay that Naoise had overstepped that boundary, it appeared to be okay enough for Hakyeon to not push him away and he allowed himself to close his eyes and to focus on Naoise’s lips only. How they moved so eagerly against his own, and how the boy suddenly appeared so much more confident than when he was just sitting next to him mere moments earlier and speaking with that insecure voice.

Could Hakyeon ignore one detail, he’d believe the person right here right now was a completely different one than the person he had just talked to, and a hand wandered to hold onto a trembling one resting on his thigh, giving it a gentle squeeze. It wasn’t supposed to be assurance, just a simple gesture, although it could easily be taken as the first. There were no feelings involved, not when their lips had found a rhythm, and not when Hakyeon parted his slightly to tease with his tongue - just to see how far he could go.

Dinner at Sunrise ; Tsukiyomi & Hakyeon

It was one of the many reasons why Hakyeon kept returning every time; that smile Tsukiyomi smiled for him no matter how tired he was when he returned. The Japanese pet name was spoken in a mere whisper while the moon god was still walking toward him, but Hakyeon could hear it just fine from the distance, and if a fox could smile, he would have. Instead, wagging his tail would be the only appreciation he could give Tsukiyomi in response as he attentively watched every step the man took toward him. Sometimes, Hakyeon secretly thought, it looked as if the God was flying with his elegant steps, not walking, and it was fascinating to watch.

Only when the man crouched down for him and he felt the gentle touch of a cold hand against his warm fur, he allowed himself to close his eyes and he leaned into it slightly. Another reason to return; it was a way of affection that Hakyeon enjoyed the most. Even though the cold skin always had him wish that he could give a bit of his warmth to the God, even if it was just by curling up by his feet. Tsukiyomi never asked for it, it just felt natural to share what the other couldn’t have when he found a situation suitable.

A question directed toward him, and the fox opened his eyes again, looking into a pair that felt a bit wrong today. But Hakyeon couldn’t ask even though he wanted to; and the growling of his stomach gave his reason of visit away way too fast. The man’s expression changed again, and despite it now carrying amusement, he still wondered if there was reason to worry. He’d probably figure it out, Hakyeon decided and lifted himself up the same time Tsukiyomi did, readying himself to walk inside before the other would.

He was fast to slip through the door and run toward the kitchen, waiting more or less patiently next to the fridge; he had been waiting outside for a while already after all, and so he deemed that he was allowed. The time it took Tsukiyomi to join him at his waiting spot gave him a bit more time to observe though, watching the man’s expression more carefully now, and his tail stopped wagging when he realized just how tired the other was this morning.

Really bad timing, he was sure now, but Tsukiyomi would never send him away without letting him in first. A busy night?, Hakyeon inwardly asked and put a paw on top of the God’s foot as soon as he finally stood by his side and checked the contents of the fridge. It was a small gesture, yet the first thing he could come up with to show his concern.

Aren’t We Friends? - Wonshik + Hakyeon

Hakyeon stretched a little after closing the zipper of his jacket, exhaustedly rubbing at his eyes before he said his goodbyes into the bakery. Today had been a long day for the young man, seeing as the shop had been rather busy and loud during certain hours and that was something he didn’t like at all. Hakyeon was glad to finally be allowed to leave. He hadn’t really planned anything else for the rest of the day, maybe curl up in bed to read a book until he would fall asleep. Something relaxing to calm down his senses, that was the only plan he had made a few hours prior to the end of his shift.

Up to that moment, Hakyeon had no idea that his plans would be crushed the moment he’d turn to leave. Because when he turned around, a male figure sort of blocked his way and he was left looking up at a man who had joined their team not too long ago. Hakyeon tilted his head, slightly confused, slightly surprised because the taller man didn’t seem to have anything important to say. At least that’s what it seemed like from how the conversation was started, and Hakyeon calmly sighed through his nose.

Somehow, he felt a little bad for how awkward the other seemed to be around him. Hakyeon was very well aware that it was his fault, always giving short responses whenever Wonshik tried speaking to him. But he couldn’t help it; the man had always appeared strange to the demigod. Especially with his tattoos that Hakyeon had managed to get a glimpse of every now and then, or how he always tried to be extra friendly with everyone. It had the boring smell of not interesting and that would be about it if there weren’t the tattoos. The tattoos just made everything a little worse. Just a little bit.

Some other coworkers had tried to convince him that he was misjudging too fast again and he would admit to himself that he might be, but the greeting directed toward him didn’t make his judgment any better. Hakyeon knew himself well enough to know that if he’d start a conversation with Wonshik, he would end up getting sidetracked very soon and then feel even worse about the situation. Wasn’t it nicer to just get out of his way from the start? At least it wouldn’t lead to misunderstandings.

With all those thoughts running through his head, Hakyeon wasn’t a bad person at all. Or was he? Did he seem like a bad person to Wonshik? “I need to go to the store first” was the again very short response, and yet it managed to come out more like an invitation to drag along. Technically, Hakyeon didn’t mind which he indicated with a light shrug of his shoulder and a small but honest smile, and so it was completely up to the other whether he’d bother or not.

Sweet Surprise | Hyuk & Hakyeon

Hakyeon’s eyes widened when the other male nodded, letting him know that his guess was right. And what was mere surprise at first quickly turned into happiness, lips curling into a warm smile – one that wasn’t reserved for customers, but for friends only, much more sincere and actually reaching his eyes. “Wow, I…” Hakyeon didn’t even know what to say, or how to respond to the questions that fell from the younger man’s lips like a waterfall. It wasn’t because they were thrown at him all at once, but because he was still trying to grasp the situation he was in. The chances of someone he ever knew ending up here in the same place were so slim, and yet it had happened anyway.

“All the ones that I made” he decided to respond to the easiest question first, the smile turning into a rather cheeky grin as he leaned a bit forward to see better where he was pointing at while he spoke, giving a proper answer at last. “They’re all good, but my favorites are these three; pistachio, strawberry and white chocolate cream.”

His eyes blinked back up at the boy and he straightened his back again, trying to appear at least a little taller. Because Hakyeon wasn’t exactly the definition of tall. And looking at Hyuk right now, he felt even smaller – the age difference didn’t make him feel any better about it. “And I’ll let you know when I get off work if you tell me how you managed to become twice my height.” Of course, Hakyeon was exaggerating, but amazed just how much a few years could change. “If you can wait another hour, I’ll be free?”

Even though they hadn’t spoken in a very long time, hadn’t even seen each other, it didn’t feel awkward at all. Hakyeon was curious too, wondering about how the other had been as well as why he was here, how long he had been here... Hakyeon quite liked the idea the younger had brought up; catching up, just talking again for a while.

Dinner at Sunrise ; Tsukiyomi & Hakyeon

A snarl escaped the usually quiet black fox as he laid, curled up on the floor in front of a door which he was all too well acquainted with by now. His eyes were stubbornly focused on the hallway as his head rested on his forelegs, tail wagging left and right every now and then as he impatiently waited for the God’s return this morning. Tsukiyomi was his name, someone who had sort of accepted the demigod, or rather the demigod in the form of a fox, as something what Hakyeon wouldn’t like to call a pet but – yes, certainly, a pet. He had even earned himself a pet name.

It had been an accident that he had gotten himself tangled and caught in the other’s sheets, but ever since this particular day, he had started coming back at random times. Often for food, because even though he was good at baking, cooking wasn’t quite his thing. And starving wasn’t either. Always in his fox form, however, because truthfully spoken, even though he was pretty sure that Tsukiyomi knew that he wasn’t just a fox, he couldn’t exactly imagine how the moon god would react seeing his actual self. In the form of a human, with or without fox ears. It didn’t seem worth an experiment either.

Hakyeon yawned, his stomach growling almost simultaneously and he curled up further, still staring, listening carefully whether he’d hear familiar steps approaching. And he did, after what seemed like a wait of eternity – Hakyeon was able to tell whether it was a stranger approaching or somebody he knew, and he had heard these footsteps too often to not recognize them right away. The fox was quick to sit up, leaning a bit forward to see better and make his anticipation clear to the man as soon as he would spot him sitting. Maybe his timing wasn’t the best sometimes, but it was still better than waking him up at times he was already asleep, right?
