"Oh I'm sure they do care! I never said they didn't... or that wasn't my intention," Mai said quickly, blushing a bit.
The demigoddess tilted her head as the other spoke to her beloved pet - her friend - admiring how he talked to her companion like an equal.
Cactus sniffed the air and then made a series of adorable snuffling sounds. The tiny creature looked at Sun with his small black eyes, seemingly thoughtful. As Sundrop spoke, Cactus wiggled his tiny nose and then gave a few little squeaky sounds, almost as if in agreement. He then settled comfortably in Mai's hands, seemingly content with the attention he was receiving.
"He seems to like you," Mai beamed, then patiently waited for the translation.
Sun smiled, nodding at her exclamation. "I was just saying, I know some people wonder if the gods care and all that so I just voiced my own thought in reflection to that." He explained in return before his attention returned to Cactus.
He listened, nodding again at the little creature with a soft hum before he looked back up at Mai. "From the sounds of it, he's just worried about you too. I think he just wants to help you make more friends and is doing what he can think of to help that." He bounced slightly, stretching and humming quietly before looking between Mai and her little companion.
"Who knows, I know animals tend to like me so maybe so. How about we become friends too though?" He asked lightly, a small smile on his lips as he spoke.
