Sighing, Mingyu puts down his phone again. His complex an actual mess from Peanut and Butter just running around his house, luckily, with no glass broken or liquids spilled. The only place they’ve ran around was his living room (they surprisingly listen to him...to a degree), where Peanut and Butter’s respective beds now upside down, their mini-closets overturned and his couch full of scratches and its cushions full of bite marks.
“Peanut, Butter! Stop playing with each other and play with me!” He said while crawling around, trying to catch up with his children. “You both only listen to me when I put up treats.” Mingyu sat there, dejected, in the middle of his living room. He just wanted to play with his kids, but his kids aren’t budging an inch and now Peanut was using his head as a resting spot while Peanut barked loudly for his sister to come down.
“Ah, I’ll just pretend you’re barking at me...” His laugh soulless and tired, he picked up Butter from his head. “But now that Peanut is in my hands, I will play with her!” Mingyu said as he ran to the tattered couch with his new feline in his grip. “I knew it, you wanted to play with me-AH!” The feline had lightly clawed his hands, forcing him to let go and now his children were playing again without him, leaving Mingyu back in that dejected state. He just prays that his sister will come and somehow save him from his emotionally wrecked state.
I’m Sorry~~cyhiraeth + mingyu
@mpxmingyu
Cyhiraeth was going on her usual after supper walk through the park; there was something about the night breeze that relaxed her in a way that most other things did not. It was hard enough living with images of death practically every time she closed her eyes, but on top of that she had found that by living at Mount Phoenix, she realized how truly lonely she was. She constantly saw other Gods and Goddesses out with their children, and it stabbed at her heart at the fact that her own children were nowhere to be found. It had only been a couple weeks since Cyhiraeth had gotten here, but she had hoped to see her children almost right away and the fact that she had it made her sad and lonely feelings bubble inside of her. Her usually confident facade was broken on nights like these, as she let the tears that she kept hidden freely flow, but only after making sure no one was around her.
After plopping herself on a bench in the middle of the park, far away from any ponds or rivers in the area to ward off any unwanted thoughts, she let the tears finally drip from her eyes. It had been so long since she had seen her children and the sheer fact that they might not even be at Mount Phoenix really hit her hard. Suddenly out of the corner of her eye, a figure standing about ten yards away caught her attention: that hair, those shoulders, that posture. It could only be one person.
“Mingyu!” His name came from her lips before she could stop herself, before she could check to see if it might be someone other than him. But at that moment Cyhiraeth didn’t care, she had gone too long without seeing him and even if there was only a 50% chance it was him, it didn’t hurt to check. Practically sprinting over to the figure, Cyhiraeth wrapped her arms around whoever it was, praying that it was her Mingyu, and that she could finally ask him all the questions she had been dying to know, finally see his face after so long.
It wasn’t unusual for Mingyu to walk around in the night, alone–Okay, it was. Prior to this, he’d be at home with his precious child, Peanut, pampering him and playing with him. However, with the addition of a new family member, he’d barely gotten any attention at home. Peanut and Butter were way too busy playing with each other to even notice their father, and it was way harder to catch two children pets at the same time, especially when work and working out was just as exhausting. He finally knew how parents felt, and he’s surprised at how some parents were able to have more than one child.
He’s suddenly reminded of his mother. Up until a while ago, Mingyu was an only child. He’d lived his life alone, usually spending his time at home with hig dog more than his dad. Now, he had a sister, an older one and the gap between them was only by a few months. He wondered how mom did it–of course, his mom was a goddess, so maybe babies matured in her womb faster? How did she even get from Australia to Europe? How many more siblinhs did he have, and did they ever spend time with her? He was so confused by how the deities worked, but then again, Mingyu was confused by a lot of things. Maybe it would have been better if he doesn’t know how.
Deep in thought, Mingyu mindlessly walked around the dry areas of the park, afraid he might actually get wet for some reason, and just really disliked anything relatively wet (other than his children). He was thinking about his mom, and how sad she must be to be the goddess of streams but seeing death when in contact with her element. He was already annoyed with having to live with it for two decades, and his mom was probably older than Korea, it must get way too unbearable.
Just then, he heard his name being called out, and a figure approached tackled him. This woman was definitely heavier than what her physique tells, and if Mingyu wasn’t as strong as he was, he might have dropped down to the ground, resulting in a very unwanted first impression. But, wait, was she the one who said his name?
“Miss? Is anything wrong?” He bent his head down. Luckily, she was taller than most women, which meant he didn’t have to squat down to see her face.
“Mom?” He asked out randomly, just because she looked exactly like how his dad described her, except she was the less sugar coated version of it. Plus, he had a gut feeling, just like how those people in the soap operas always had a gut feeling that a certain character was their mother or father who they thought they lost years ago.
“I–I’m not dreaming, right? You’re actually my mom?”

He was about to say that he consented to whatever Taemin had planned, but the sudden sharp turn into the alley and pleas to invade their personal spaces had shaken him and caused him to doubt himself, mentally taking note that he should really learn how to say no, especially to strangers.
“I…have to…what? Here?” He looked slightly confused for a second before deciding to just go with whatever, which was exactly what put him in this situation. He put up his elbow to cover Taemin’s face and came closer, too close for comfort, just as Taemin gestured. “Uhm, are you sure this helps?” He asked while his eyes looked through the corners again, noticing the deadly glare from this Jongmyun person. This was possibly one of his weirdest days in the two decades that he’d been alive.
Nodding, he leaned down to the love demi-god’s level, the only thing that gave them air to breathe was the small distance between the tips of the noses. The blush on Mingyu’s face (he was more frustrated than infatuated) was as clear as day, and with that knowledge, he couldn’t bring himself to look up. Right now, he actually felt smaller than Taemin.
“Don’t worry about it, I told you I’d help you.” He said as his body finally showed some signs of trembling, the warmness from Taemin had completely gone over his head. Still, he was able to bring himself to smile, just so the other wouldn’t worry. “I’m used to this, but I never really liked it.”
“Does this happen to you all the time?” Muffling a little laugh against the other man’s neck he winds one arm around his pseudo lover just as Jongmyun rounds the corner and very nearly passes their little hideout.
Taemin can’t help but recall a warmer evening he and Jongmyun had done just this, kissing leisurely into the warm summer night. Of course that had been before their little fling had crumbled into possessive bouts of rage and fighting.
Closing his eyes the blonde leans up as if deepening the supposed kiss, instead bumping his nose into Mingyu’s cheek playfully. He doesn’t have to look at his ex-lover to imagine the tightening of his fists and that dark, boiling rage in his eyes. Maybe Taemin would have been more sympathetic if just once there was a trace of heartache or genuine sadness, but for scorn and the desire to control he has no love.
“Sorry, again.”
The sound of heavy footfalls turn away and only then does he lean back, flush against the wall and as far out of the other demi-god’s space as he can be. He expects the poor man to recoil now. Perhaps the son of Aphrodite could have tried his hand at actually using his powers to seduce his faux boyfriend, to ease the guilt of seeing the obvious discomfort on the other’s face, but he would have probably felt worse- and ultimately it hadn’t even been necessary.
Slipping away to put a decent amount of distance between them- the amount that would normally be given to a stranger -he offers up a little bow.
“I better take this chance to try and make it home before he comes back-”
“They asked me to do a lot of stuff back in the day, and they were usually weirder than this.” He chuckled a little, not exactly proud of doing the favors he was asked to do.
He did all kinds of wrongs back in Anyang, and whether he consented to it or not, he still caused quite the turmoil in his hometown. He wasn’t guilty of it, but he wasn’t proud of it either, and he wished that no one else from that city was a demi-god, just so he could live in peace.
When he sees Taemin finally leaning away, he finally puts a at least a feet of distance between them, sighing in relief as the experience was finally over. “Don’t worry about it. I’m glad I could help…but I really think you should give me a heads up next time you need any help.“ He joked as a sigh escaped his lips, so I could actually be mentally prepared he wanted to add, but chose to stay silent instead.
“Have fun going home. Take care.” He said, not noticing the pause in Taemin’s voice and started walking away, thinking that he might as well go to work early and take care of the animals, hopefully, they were enough to take his mind off the weird day he’s had.

mpxmingyu:
To say that Mingyu felt weirded out was an understatement. He was uncomfortable at the sudden skinship, something that he was used to, but never really fond of, especially with a man he barely knew. He didn’t shudder nor show any disgust, but instead kept the large smile on his face with his teeth showing, it was obvious that Mingyu was oblivious about the situation.
“Sure, if it helps.” He said, placing a tiny fraction of distance between him and the smaller blonde as he started walking; he was in front of the demi-god, seeing as how his steps were slightly larger. “We could just walk around the island, since you don’t seem to have any destination in mind.” He looked back to tell Taemin, but he also noticed a figure that was heading to their direction, the person’s eyes glared daggers at him. His day just became way creepier than intended.
However, with the image burned into his mind, Mingyu could suddenly feel like someone was watching him as they walked, and slowly felt way more uncomfortable than he already was. He wanted to make sure that the person he saw wasn’t following them, so he took full advantage of the next curve down the street and turned left, his head slightly tilted to the side to see if someone was following.
“There’s this really creepy person behind following us for a while now,“ he slightly bent down to Taemin’s level and whispered with a worry-filled voice. “Or am I just being paranoid?”
“Thank you!” Taking both the distance and the extension of help in stride Taemin hurries to catch up with the other man, not relinquishing his hand and instead slipping in close again to block Mingyu’s view over his shoulder. He doesn’t want his new friend to worry too much.
“Jongmyun.” Sighing the name as if he’s mentioning some undeniably sad but unavoidable catastrophe, the love demi-god lets his head lean against Mingyu’s shoulder. “I guess I didn’t let him down sternly enough but… I hate being hurtful. You’re really doing me a favor right now.” Whispering the words he turned his head, cheek pressing against Mingyu’s arm to beam up at him. “I promise I won’t ask anything else of you after this, just one more thing, okay?”
Suddenly turning sharp into an alley he guides his unexpected hero with him, far enough down to still be seen from the street but not too close to the road. He’s careful, trying to create the illusion of two lovers wanting to sneak away and share an intimate moment together.
Leaning back against the chilled bricks Taemin shivers, laughing quietly and tugging gently on the front of Mingyu’s shirt in a silent bid for him to come closer, chest to chest; he motions for him to put the opposite arm up, elbow against the wall next to Taemin’s head, blocking their faces from anyone looking in.
“I hope I’m not making you too uncomfortable.” There was obvious resistance to the touching and he feels just a bit bad for it, but there’s mirth behind his smile and in his eyes, his hands as soothing as possible.
“Can you just pretend to kiss me? Lean in and tilt your head? He’ll go away then, I think.”
He was about to say that he consented to whatever Taemin had planned, but the sudden sharp turn into the alley and pleas to invade their personal spaces had shaken him and caused him to doubt himself, mentally taking note that he should really learn how to say no, especially to strangers.

Friend to all, he had no qualms in asking for help from a stranger on the street.
Unbidden, a warm hand finds Mingyu’s, and their fingers lace. The smile on plush lips is just as gentle, even as the blonde steps close into this man’s space. In a motion easily mistaken for intimacy, Taemin dips his head as if murmuring sweet nothings: hushed and mild.
“walk with me somewhere?” Soft voice lowered he runs his thumb on the skin of Mingyu’s hand, glancing up briefly through his lashes before looking down again. He cocks his head, grasp tugging just so, tucking himself under Mingyu’s chin and into the line of the other demi-god’s body naturally.
“It doesn’t matter where- just for a few moments.” His gaze doesn’t stray anywhere but before him; still it’s obvious there’s someone or something he’s avoiding.
Really, his plea is so tender and devoid of pressure that it could easily be shaken off, but Taemin asks with a tone of implore so strong it reflects in his eyes when he offers another smile.
To say that Mingyu felt weirded out was an understatement. He was uncomfortable at the sudden skinship, something that he was used to, but never really fond of, especially with a man he barely knew. 'He’s getting on my nerves.’
Mingyu had already known who Jungkook was talking about, or rather, had a pretty accurate guess. “That sucks, man.” He nodded and sighed. He didn’t really know the feeling of having a love rival, mostly because the girls in Anyang chose him over their own boyfriends, and he’d had more under-the-table relationships more than he did real ones, though he wasn’t really proud with it. “If you wanna eat the anger away, then you could call me any time. Food is a good way to relieve stress.” He said, trying his best to sympathize with the love struck boy. “I could make food you some food if you’re ever feeling like not spending anything.”
“I don’t really recommend fighting or drinking your problems away, especially drinking. You’d make more mistakes than you do right with alcohol.” He said with an embarrassed chuckle at the end, knowing all too well that he’d made more mistakes than a man his age should.
‘Your heart’s too big for your body.’
“Are you sure you’re the one who’s supposed to tell me this, noona?” He said teasingly with a large smile on his face. “I mean, your body is pretty small.” He laughed; he always loved teasing short people, especially his sister. He loved her reactions and sassy retorts. He loved his sister all too much, especially since she was his first sibling in forever.
“Anyway, if my heart is too big, then that means I get to love you and mom more!” He chuckled while softly petting her head. He’s gotten very comfortable with having a family now, which made him happy, especially since he’s been living with only Peanut for almost two years now, That being said, he still wasn’t used to showing affections, so he immediately hid his face in his hands after, his blood rushing rapidly to his cheeks. He couldn’t raise his head to meet her eyes now, not when he was blushing.
“That was too embarrassing.” It was ironic how such a man with a large build acted like a child, but he was the youngest sibling right now, so he thought it was okay to act like a baby sometimes. “I didn’t say anything.” He said shyly, still refusing to raise his head.
"I think I got myself in trouble~"
Mingyu looked mildly surprised at Taemin. He’d been living on the island for a while now, so he pretty much knew about most of the residents, especially about the love demigods who were always the talk of the town for some reason. He’d seen them a few times, and admittedly, they were pretty, but he didn’t feel the admiration most felt for them–maybe because he loved Peanut more than anyone other than his family that their charms didn’t work on him, or probably some other reason all together.
“Ah, do you need my help by any chance?” He looked dazed as he asked him, curious at how he could really be of some help to this peculiar demigod, especially since they weren’t that close. Still, if Mingyu could help, he’d probably try to do it. “Uhm, I don’t really know if I can help much, but I’ll be happy to help with whatever you need.” He smiled, reassuring the other that he really was willing to help, even if his initial reaction said otherwise.

“I would if I could, but I honestly have no idea how to make one” Sorn lied down again on the soft grass, one hand under her head and the other one reaching up to pull the boy down by his shirt so that he was lying besides her. “You should get one of the more flowery types to help you with that. I’m only good for when you really need a lighter but cant find one.” A small laugh escaped her lips as she let her fingers dig into the grass floor.
“Enjoy the weather instead. Can you imagine that there are people out there who like rainy days?” she continued, her voice skeptical. Sorn turned her head to look at Mingyu. Pulling up a few blades of grass, she used them to poke at his face as she continued, a playful smile painted across her face. “Imagine. Rainy days. Strange, isn’t it?”
Mingyu chuckled as he laid down on the grass, one hand above his head while the other laid on his stomach. “That’s too bad. But then again, we wouldn’t have to harm any daisies. So I guess that’s good?“ He just looked at her as she spoke about herself, and true enough, she did have the aura of someone who could burn a flower rather than nurture it, and he was no different himself. “I could just ask Wheein, but she might make 20 different flower chains instead.” He chuckled, knowing very well just how passionate his tiny friend was about the species. “Plus I’m too lazy to get up.” He admitted as his gaze returned towards the sky above them.
He was happy to be able to spend the day like this–warm and dry, and away from any forms of water, so when the other had suggested the thought of people enjoying rainy days, he internally shuddered. Rain, or any forms of water, was the last thing he had wanted. “People can sure be weird. What’s so good about rain anyway?” He asked with a small chuckle towards the end, feeling calmer as Sorn had poked some blades of grass on his cheek. It was funny to him for some reason, and he didn’t know if it was the grass or the thought of rain, or maybe a horrible realization to his useless power, but he started to laugh more.
“At least you can use your power to dry yourself up during the wet season,” he looked at her from the corner of his eyes. “Mine makes me feel like I’m watching a soap opera filled with classic clichés of regret and greed for a longer life. Bad production with equally bad actors.“ He said with no hint of emotion in his voice, something that was rare for the normally cheerful Mingyu.
