That’s soviet communism, though, which is very different from what OP is suggesting. This is instead social democracy, which proposes meshing a capitalistic economy with social policies in a democratic system. It’s what the Nordic countries, such as Sweden and Norway, have adopted. Your experience in a post-soviet country is irrelevant, because these are completely different ideologies.

Nordic model has nothing common with socialism. It’s capitalism with social benefit (from high taxes) and “progressive” ideology. Socialism was in Cuba, USSR, Venezuela.
