When Harry told his truth...
I have been reading up on everything that is being leaked about the spare and I'm just as shocked and outraged as the next person.
But one thing that irritates me to the core is the use of this bloody expression "my truth". After following Harry for over 12 years I had never seen him using these words in the same sentence until the infamous Oprah interview.
That is something he got from Meghan. She's full of "my truths" and it's irritating. Not because she repeats it a lot but because it's misleading.
These isn't such a thing as my truth, my boyfriend's truth, my in law's truth, my family's truth. THERE IS ONLY ONE SINGLE TRUTH. Everything else is someone's version of the events.
But why is this expression so irritating might you ask. Why get hung up on a technicality?
Because the way this expression is being used is giving room for people to take what they are saying as the WHOLE truth and disregard that there might be more to the story than what they're saying.
It's a way to manipulate public opinion and brainwash people who may not be aware of the royal family's traditions, rules, protocoles. I have seen no end of Americans commenting on things that are simply cultural differences. But they are taking what she's saying as the truth and demonising people who did the best of their ability to keep her happy.
I have also seen a lot of Brazilians commenting, taking their side without even knowing that for example: britons don't have a lot of physical contact with people. A lot don't even have a lot of physical contact with people they're extremely closed to. AND THAT'S OK!
People are different. Cultures are different. There's no right or wrong.
But what I'm seeing is someone who wants to make her culture, her habits, her way of living the correct one. And people are falling for it because they think it's the truth.
That's why I reckon both of them should be held accountable for the misuse of the word truth. They need to be called out.
