Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real? (x)
get to know me: seven/ten actresses
crystal reed; don’t ever let anybody tell you you can’t. my mum and dad never wanted me to be an actress. they didn’t want me to be in acting at all. in fact, I remember telling them i wanted to go to college for theatre and my mum cried and said, “there’s no way,” and my dad sat me down very calmly one day and he said, “why don’t you just go into broadcasting, and you can be a journalist. that’s acting, you’re reading your lines,” and i was like, “no dad, it’s not. that’s so sweet of you, but it’s not.” i had to overcome many things, many people telling me no. if you want it, and you believe in it, you have to do it. and i know it’s silly, and i know i’m kind of irrationally optimistic, but you have to be and you can’t really have another plan, because you’re going to fall back on it.

“I’m not this cool dream boy type. I’m quite a genuine, caring guy but I’m more the guy-next-door”
There’s no place like home!
The clever thing was to break the rules and stay alive all the same. - George Orwell, 1984
When I was little I used to dance and model and that was fun. But I was always the person that was goofing off and I would memorize every line in every movie that I saw. And at recess that’s what I would do, I would talk to my friends and recite movies.
“I like doing normal things. I like going to fairs, I like going to ball games, I like going to Disney World, or a big field on the Fourth of July and having picnics with friends. The problem is, you’re either worried you’re going to be recognized or you’re thankful you’re not. It’s always there. I miss that not being in my head.”
My world was completely different to other boys my age. When I was six I was earning money, and by 10 I was paying more tax than the parents of other pupils. I feel a lot older than my years. Because I was working with adults, I had to mature a lot quicker.
It’s a bit rich isn’t it? Banging on about this generation’s ideals of success when you’re part of the industry that sells it to them? It’s easy to say that, but my parents brought us up making films about things that were going on in the world – trying to tell stories that were political. I don’t think they were trying to sell anything to us about some ideal.

“It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends.”
“I was never good in pictures. Ever since I was a little kid, I never learned how to smile properly in photographs, that was something I kind of had to learn how to do when I started promoting films. It’s still a very intimidating thing for me, and I kind of walk onto a photoshoot set and say, ‘I’m not good at modeling clothes but if you just tell me what you need me to do, I’ll do it.’”
