You meet when Thrór brings his people to Erebor. Your mothers craft was highly valued, so the whole family moved to join Durinsfolk and aid in resettling their old home.

Youre clumsy. Hes cute. He fell first but you fall harder.

And how can you not? Hes got blonde silvery hair. Eyes like quicksilver and a smile so sweet you walk into a closed door. Hes SMITTEN.

He wins your heart through his enduring kindness and skill on the harp.

You find his friendship with birds and even the smallest of mice to be quite adorable actually.

Once you went to hold his hand and he denied you. Why? He opens his palm and there is a baby mouse he'd safe and sound. "It is occupied,my apologies."

How could you NOT forgive him after that?!

His brother is quite cheeky and sends you a Terms and Conditions for My Brother's Heart.

The brothers together are absolutely delightful but agents of chaos. Grór presents a young piglet to you as a gift of thanks for keeping his brother company through his heartache and loss.

Thrór has a deep sadness within his heart. One that you become familiar with and aid him in tending to.

You learn to play the harp for him as a surprise. You do horribly but hes so touched the two of you kindle a far deeper relationship. Iykyk.

You coax him up to dance when hes too stressed or when hes in his grief.

He loves gifting you whatever youre most passionate about

He always notices and remembers your preferences and its always surprising.

The two of you sneak out to attend parties and usually end up collapsed in a heap afterward.

You are each others confidants and best friend. You plan on growing old together... until Smaug comes for vengeance and then- well you decide what happens

the new content filters and the flagging system require every reblogger to appeal independently from the poster.

What is happening?

With the latest tumblr content filter updates, every reblog is flagged independently from the original post without the OP knowing. This means that if your post is reblogged by someone and that reblog is flagged, you won't know. The note count will go up, but the note is hidden: you can't see it on the rebloggers blog or any other reblogs branching from the flagged post.

What should I do?

Every reblogger needs to appeal for their own reblogs. Thankfully the review time on Tumblr's side has been fast, usually in a couple of hours they restore the post. If you can notify the OP, grand. If you have time, leave a support ticket, choose feedback and tell them why you think this is a bad model.

Why and how should I do it?

We all know the latest and contested change about the note counts that was thankfully rolled back, but its ramifications are still in use. Tumblr now considers every reblog a post in its own right, as you can see from the new banners for the same post as above:

The turn this website has taken regarding the ownership of posts is at best discouraging and at worst a massive disrespect done to all the artists, creators, gifmakers, fic writers and meta writers out there, making fandom fun and alive. If artists, writers and gifmakers don't get autonomy over their own art being shared on this website, how is a reblog different from a repost, something tumblr actively discourages from doing? How can the OP appeal for a post if they don't even know it's flagged? Why are we taking away ownership of the art from the artist, the human behind it?

How do I appeal?

Tumblr has this very useful feature, both on the website and on the mobile app:

You can find all the flagged posts on your blog either by going to the relevant blog>right hand menu, below Posts, Followers, Activity>Review flagged posts on the website OR by going to Settings>Review flagged posts on the mobile

Then you click on Appeal, and write a very short reason why, describing the post. You can even write this:

This post has nothing that is against the User Guidelines.

The young King Thrór with a Thrush friend based on "A Beauty Holding a Bird" by Louis-Emile-Pinel de Grandchamp because he's the bird-guy dwarf of the legendarium. Here's some of my favourite snippets from the legendarium relating to this. "Drat the bird!" said Bilbo crossly. "I believe he is listening, and I don't like the look of him." Reblogs in a chain now get their own notes

The reblog chain is one of the things that makes Tumblr unlike anywhere else. All the notes on reblogs are attributed to the original post, no matter which branch people actually liked or reblogged. We want to keep encouraging conversations, and give contributors the recognition they deserve. 

Soon, you'll be able to like, reblog, or reply to any part of a reblog chain, and that note will go to that reblog's author. Each reblog will have its own counts, instead of one aggregated number from every version of the post. And yes, you’ll be able to like multiple posts in one chain.

If a reblog doesn't add anything, the love flows up to the last person in the chain who did. Your post doesn't lose notes just because people spread it quietly.

Past notes will stay on the original post — we're only changing what happens from here on out. Retroactively re-attributing all of them would be... a lot.

This is just the beginning. More changes are coming as we keep building this out – stay tuned!

Sigh... Of course Tumblr had to go and make Tumblr even worse for creators than what it already was. Engagement means something to us creators who post here, this essentially cuts us off from it almost completely. This was already happen to an extent with the community feature and how the reblogs work there (which also locks engagement behind closed doors which means we miss out on it). Doing this completely kills the reason as to why creators even post things on this site.

Estur (Beads, Tattoos, Firebeard)

Estur, despite being the youngest daughter of one of the more influential families in Erebor, is a remarkably well-adjusted individual. Her eldest sister is the heir of the family, her older brother joined Erebor’s army, and Estur had the freedom to do whatever she wished ‘Whatever she wished’ happened to be pursuing a career in music, which was a relief for her parents. Rank doesn’t mean much to her, she’s a firm believer that the content of one’s character is more important than any title, and is determined to earn her place through her own merit rather than through her family’s influence. She wants to impress her parents and earn the admiration of her people, and one can't do that by throwing money at every problem. Estur is very much aware of the privilege of her birthplace and position, and doesn’t take her freedom or riches lightly.

For Estur's hair, tattoos, and ornaments, I took inspiration from the amazing @mrkida-art for Firebeards (specifically these posts). I also yoinked the golden eyes, because I'm unoriginal and they're also very pretty. My art isn't nearly as intricate or shiny, but I hope y'all can see the influence lmao

Estur began as a cutie with no backstory… And now she’s Khel’s romantic interest, because Sapphic Dwarrow make me happy and I need no other reason. Khel is kinda bad at flirting (just like her Amad) and Estur is a baddie with standards. It'll be a trainwreck and I’ll enjoy every moment of it

Sauron, The Witch King and Khamûl. The boyssssss.

We know so little of the Nazgul and their origins aside from a few details. The witch king, whose name is lost, likely came from Numenor, a disciple off Zigur. He may have been a prince, influential lord or great war captain. Regarddless, he held potential that deemed him useful to the dark lord.

Second in command and second most powerful of the Nazgul was Khamûl the Easterling. Shadow of Dol Guldur, a hunter who could scent the living like wolves scent blood. He is the only other named Nazgul.

Booth figures are wrapped in mystery, both a cautionary tale of power, corruption an the loss of all things a mortal soul possesses.

Well, I have bad news and good news. The good news is, I was working on a comic version of Sands and Shadows, my Sauron X OC story. The bad news is, A plot hole was unearthed in the comic story version, and I had to scrap it.

So, not to waste it, I decided to post what I had.

Welcome all to the 2nd Díscember event!

For far too long Dís has remained caged in the shadow of her male relatives. Given her presentation in canon and mysterious uninvolvement in the Hobbit movies this isnt surprising. But we can change that. We can give her the agency she deserves.

This event focuses on expanding and emphasizing Dís as a character ON HER OWN. This means not focusing solely on her connection to a male figure. If she can grieve in the narrative she can BREATHE in OUR narrative.

This is not Dís the widow/mother/sister/ sole holder of braincells for the family.

This is for Dís.

Rules:

Pieces can be any fan production including playlists, image boards, cosplay,character analysis, headcanons, fan fics etc. Providing the focus is on Dís and it doesn't use AI.

No background Dís!!!the focus must be on Dís. Spotlight her!
