Enough perfect dad Russel. Give me young, inexperienced Russel whose struggle with both literal and metaphorical demons impaired his ability to father Noodle. Give me slightly irresponsible Russel that makes mistakes and doesn’t always act as he should around her. Give me a Russel that doesn’t clutch his pearls and gasp every time 2D says “damn” around Noodle because he was a young guy who probably didn’t care much about her hearing curse words. Give me an overbearing Russel who overcompensates for his imperfection as a father by being a big pushover and letting Noodle do whatever she wanted because he felt guilty.

Give me a complicated and actually interesting relationship between Russel and Noodle.
