This is pretty much the neatest thing I have ever seen in my life. It is called a Velella velella and they have apparently been washing ashore from California to Oregon. Its not a single creature but rather a colony of several creatures living together. The top is a sail that allows them to move along the surface of the water.

Environment as a Mirror

There is a clear flow of Ch’i in the environment and in the lives of individuals.

Just by walking into a home of an owner you will get an instant snapshot of how their lifestyle and experiences are by looking at what surrounds you. If all you read is chaos, you may well surmise that the owner is finding life difficult at the moment and is burdened with similar sense of inner chaos.

If on the other hand, you walk into a home that reeks order and balance with stability, it is likely that the owner is enjoying a life of relative order and inner peace.

The environment can therefore be considered as somewhat of a mirror giving a clear view of what and if anything needs to be changed.

Take a look at your home and try to be as objective as possible. Imagine that you have stepped into someone else’s house and you are trying to gain an insight into the state of the owner’s life. Does what you see indicate a life of order, tranquillity and balance or satisfaction? Or is the place more chaotic suggesting that life is not as balanced as it could be? Once you get an idea of how your environment reflects your life, you can immediately highlight areas which need attention.

An HD Panorama of our Milky Way

The plane of our Milky Way Galaxy, which we see edge-on from our perspective on Earth, cuts a luminous swath across this high-resolution  image. With this view the general components of our spiral galaxy come clearly into view, including its disc, marbled with both dark and glowing nebulae, which harbours bright, young stars, as well as the Galaxy’s central bulge and its satellite galaxies. There are 400 billion other stars in are galaxy and scientists now think that most of them have planets of their own. This image reminds me of what the great teacher and scientist Carl Sagan once said:

“We live on a hunk of rock and metal that circles a humdrum star that is one of 400 billion other stars that make up the Milky Way Galaxy which is one of billions of other galaxies which make up a universe which may be one of a very large number, perhaps an infinite number, of other universes. That is a perspective on human life and our culture that is well worth pondering.”~ Carl Sagan
