It’s easy to delineate the concepts of Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader by appearance. It’s easy to separate the charming, young Jedi knight from the menacing, suited Sith Lord.

But what I love about the kenobi show is that it subtly reaffirms what we already know:

That Darth Vader existed before the suit.

And this?

This is a perfect example.

Because to me, this looks like Vader. The ruthless enigma of the original trilogy.

Eyes pained, yet angry and resolved to dish out to others every hurt he was experiencing.

This feels like Vader. Even without the suit.
