life update & why i disappeared on tumblr:

life got really busy with school and work (i work 2 jobs now while attending school full time 9-5)

i needed time offline to focus on my mental and emotional well-being

i’ve been doing a lot of reflection, especially about relationships and the things i write about

some of my work began feeling a little too personal to share while i was still processing it (i don’t talk to the person who inspired just friends anymore lol)

i’m still writing but i’ve been doing so privately

i needed distance from social media to reconnect myself & what i want my writing to look like, even if here it’s just fanfiction

i didn’t disappear from this community because i stopped caring about writing or you guys, i just needed to step back for a bit. i know i sound like a broken record when i say i’m coming back to finish the garden series, but i promise i will (although, i don’t know how many people still remember it 🙂‍↕️)

i’m sincerely trying to. the past few months were honestly really hard. when i left, i had been trying to sort through some old pain and figure out how to take better care of myself which proved to be extremely time consuming and an immense, startling change.

as of late, i’ve quite frankly been depressed over dealing with the massive changes happening across our nation and the globe with the current administration in power, but have been doing all i can to support my community through attending protests and spreading awareness.

i had to step away completely because it was the only way i could stay okay. thanks so much for being patient with me. it really means a lot. for now, i’m here, and i’m really glad to reconnect with my love for writing and the tumblr community.

my mama was born of my abuelita who came to the united states as a single mother to raise her, and soon after my uncle. the same for my father’s parents—my abuela who was a teacher in mexico and my grandfather who worked in the ranch left everything.

i am forever grateful for the opportunities they granted me by taking the risk of leaving their home to an unfamiliar place.

in every other life, i would never choose to not be mexican. i am latiña. these are my people and my culture is beautiful.
