Gods y’all I just had a scare!!!

I was getting myself a drink waiting for my food to heat up just now. And I’m thinking “I’m gonna need a fork...” I start reaching for the drawer and then mentally 🤦🏼‍♀️! I already got one to move the leftovers from the styrofoam box to the bowl. I glance around, nothing there...

Maybe I put it in the sink on auto pilot?

Nope...

I moved faster than I have in years to turn off the microwave and grab my metal fork out with a dish cloth!

Man I haven’t done that since my mom first stopped me when I was like 10 years old...

I’m so lucky my microwave didn’t explode!

Oh and if anyone is wondering about the headline... I abbreviated “gotta be f***ing kidding me”

I have been trying so hard to find a short story to explain expanding your roots to my kids.

The story is about a beloved tree that was watered and well taken care of for years but then a bad storm blew it over. It was discovered that the roots were weak and rotted due to the constant watering.

The original story I read told it so eloquently that I thought of framing it so I can point to it whenever the kids are scared of trying something new.

Anyone know it well? Or anyone better with words than me would you put it better?
