Harmoni was born with Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita (AMC)- tight joints, lack of muscle & thin bones. This affected her upper and lower & extremities. Her arms are faced in the opposite direction & she had club feet. She had bilateral leg amputation done in Oct 2014 due to her legs never being able to extend any more than a 90degree angle. Toward the beginning of last year after a lot of research, talking & video watching she made the choice to go thru with the surgery to amputate because her dream has always been to walk & run! I know how much she wants to walk! Her ability to make a big girl decision at 8 years old & be so confident with that decision gives me strength! It's not always easy by far, mentally, emotionally, physically & financially but we all do what it takes to ensure she has the best chance she possibly can at independence & normalcy.
