hollanov taking an after game interview together because of plot convenience reasons and ilya was chirping the opposing team about their first line points per game being barely scraping 0.4 when shane tapped his arm lightly and ilya leaned towards him. all the reporters perk up because omg are we gonna see shane hollander disciplining ilya rozanov live???? this is TEA. and ilya just nodded and said

“apologies, my husband wanted to correct that their first line pgp was 0.34. which was more pathetic than i originally assumed.”

married shane does NOT play about ilya when it comes to the press. he's letting out a decade of pent up 'wheres the fucking translator? what do you fucking MEAN you don't have one?', instant 'rephrase that' to the offending journalist when ilya hesitates over a question, gets into full blown forget-the-media-training arguments when it's implied that ilya is somehow stupid for not speaking perfect english, n switches between russian, french, and english to make interviews as easy as possible for ilya. and of course ilya is fully capable of speaking english. he has been since he was a teenager. but it also won't stop him from giving shane the biggest wettest lover boy eyes n raw dogging him crazy style the moment its over.

I feel like everyone talks about how great of a father Ilya is gonna be because he's so good with kids so often, that we ignore Shane has THE most dad energy I've ever seen. He's standing beside his kids while they watch TV, claiming he's not watching because he has stuff to do. He's up at 7am on a saturday mowing the lawn or fixing stuff in the bathroom you didn't even KNOW needed fixing. His kids come home from practice and he's watching the most niche ass hockey stats breakdown video on youtube and he is SAT and focused for all 40 minutes. Oh you mentioned you like something? He's picking several up from the store DONT comment on it. All of his texts have periods, are straight to the point, and include either "OK" or "👍"

And he's the best dad a kid could ask for.

ilya is definitely anya’s favorite, no doubt, if he’s at home she’s glued to his side, following him everywhere like his little shadow, but when it comes to walks? she wants shane, cus shane is always running and she loves to run. sometimes he even takes her on hikes and she goes absolutely crazy for it. she’s an adventurous girl for sure. and ilya walks is really just walk and he thinks anya likes to stop and smell everything around. so one day ilya’s going to take her for a walk. he puts her leash on and anya just takes it right out of his hand with her mouth, walks over to shane’s feet, drops it and lets out a little bark and ilya just stands there with his hands on his chest “i can’t believe this betrayal” and shane is cackling so hard he can barely breathe as he picks up the leash and goes “well i guess i’m the official walker now, let’s go girl” and just walks out the door with anya wagging her tail while ilya stands there questioning all his life choices
