given the current climate this pride especially i feel i must mention that i love my trans friends, i stand with trans people in the fight against transphobic legislation and those who would enforce it, and this blog is not a good place for you to be if you do not vibe with that
"Situation in [country name] is horrible, but what about-" buddy, if you're trying to appeal to someone's humanity by turning people's deaths into Olympic statistics then I have bad news for you.
personal thoughts from tiktok i decided to bring out here. War is still going and I'm still in a dangerous place, please be at least avare of this situation. At least remember about us. That's the least i can ask for.
Dmytro Pavelko who performed as a drag queen Mystique Grimes. Was killed by russian missile on May 14.
it is just soul crushing when children born during the war are killed by russians
Just woke up after a series of explosions in Kyiv at 2 am
russians are attacking multiple cities around the country with ballistic missiles, because Ukraine doesn’t have enough protection against such missiles. Plus russians are using drones as well
After these explosions, power went out in some parts of Kyiv
russia is a terrorist state
happy month, fellow slurs.
Happy pride month y’all 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️

Ви забули а я вам напам’ятаю
Four years ago I woke up at 5 am from distant explosions. I asked my boyfriend if he heard them too, he said he didn’t and I should go back to sleep. I tried to calm myself down, went on the internet, it was silent, no news or explanations. I told myself that those were just some weird street noises. Half an hour later I woke up again from the same noses, but louder. This time, there were news: russia launched a full scale invasion. In these 4 years I’ve felt layers of fear, hatred and sorrow I never thought were possible. The war completely changed my perception of the world and justice, it forced me to reevaluate everything in my life and everything I believed in. I’m not very good with words, so today I’ll be sharing some of my very personal artworks exploring some of the complicated feelings and experiences I had over the past 4 years. The war still goes on, in fact it has been going on since 2014 not 2022. russians still kill, rape, torture Ukrainian people, destroy our cities and do everything in their power to erase our nation from this world. Today I would like to ask you to donate to Ukraine and share info about this war. All the links can be found here. Thank you Слава Україні!
Happy pride month!
National Chornobyl Museum's team continues to clean up after russian missile damaged the museum on May 24. So far it is estimated that about 40% of the exhibited items were irreversibly lost after the attack. But the search through the debris continues, for example today a teddy bear from Chornobyl exclusion zone was found.
Ukrainian player in tears at French Open after Russian missiles narrowly miss parents’ home

Marta Kostyuk cries after first-round victory and shows a photo of the damage in Kyiv on her phone
Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk burst into tears after winning her first-round match at the French Open and said a Russian missile narrowly missed her parents’ house.
Kostyuk showed a photo of the damage on her phone at a press conference, pointing out her parents’ house among the smoke and fires engulfing a nearby apartment complex.
“Most of the morning I felt sick just for the thought that if it was 100 metres closer, I probably wouldn’t have a mum and a sister today,” Kostyuk said.
“It was really difficult to just process it so quick and also go out and play. That’s why I’m also very happy that I played [the] first match, because I don’t know what would be the outcome if I played last, for example."
“It’s tough, but I’m very proud of myself today, of how we all handled it, and, you know, happy to be in the second round and that everyone is alive.”
All throughout her 6-2, 6-3 win over Russian-born Oksana Selekhmeteva, Kostyuk’s mind would return back to the near miss on her family’s home in Kyiv, on a night of bombing where 90 missiles and 600 drones killed four and injured around 100 across the country.
Her mother, sister and great aunt were at the residence in Ukraine’s capital city, on one of the most difficult days for Kostyuk since the war began in 2024.
“It was just the closest that it has ever been to my house, and this is what probably makes it the most emotional,” she said.
“There are obviously, as I said, there are better days, worse days, but yeah, this one was, I would say top-three worst ones, for sure.”
Although she had not been able to talk to her family on the phone at the time of the press conference, she had been in contact via text with her friends and family who are trying to get some sleep after a restless night.
When asked whether the tour had forgotten about the war in the years since it started, Kostyuk, who has continued to use her platform to raise awareness for the ongoing situation in Ukraine, said: “I’m still trying to do things that I can do, and do what I can to influence, and I use my platform, I use my speeches or whenever I have a moment to remind [people] about it, to remind of the horror of, you know, everyday lives of people.”
Another change in the environment around my artwork, which is somehow still holding on after russia’s latest massive terrorist attack on Kyiv. As the world keeps caring less and less, genocidal freaks are now openly threatening to destroy our capital with missiles. ____________

For the 100th time: Ukraine is not Palestine
By Anastasia Lebedenko - A Personal War
I wish I said this phrase to a man who was screaming at me last Sunday, comparing me, Ukrainian, to a Palestinian. It took me a week to cry this situation out, and then another few days to try and put it into words. So, here’s a story of how an apartment viewing turned into a political fight and (sort of) a harassment case.
Ukraine is in a funny spot. It’s abandoned by the people on the left because they see the West as inherently bad, and refuse to see russia for the imperial hellhole that it is, sticking to its romanticised communist-dream past. Ukraine-russia war is not viewed through an imperial lens, because people cannot fathom the idea that imperialist agenda does not have a skin colour. It’s abandoned by the right because why should anyone get involved in a war that’s not theirs? Ukraine is seen as an altogether separate entity from the so-called West — what happens there has no real bearing on life of an average American or European, so it should be none of their business.
Ukrainians are even in a funnier spot — seen as too white to be suffering the consequences of imperialism, too Christian to be suffering from a religious persecution, too similar to the neighbours who attack them to be differentiated from them. We’re all the same, the Slavs, right? A vast and empty steppe full of Russian-speaking people (oh wait, do you have your own language?) Can’t you just divide up a territory, if you’re one of the same?

sometimes there're reports like "russians relocated military aircraft to prepare for the next massive bombing, the amount of prepared missiles and drones will vastly exceed the previous ones" and then local monitoring channels will be like "guys come on, stop fearmongering 🙄 it's going to be a regular bombing, nothing out of ordinary, just our usual bombing"
