Peter sighed and looked down at Wendy, reaching up to brush a hair out of her face. “I will never express how truly sorry I am, Wendy. You never deserved to be replaced. And it is my fault you were alone when suffering through the changes of growing up. But things can be better, we just have to make them be. It’s up to us to save the island and find the heart before any of the others do..” He said fervently, running his hands through her hair as he held her close. “You’re back. And right, of course. We can try to make things feel normal again,” Peter nodded, his voice hopeful, and wasn’t that an odd feeling. He’d not been very hopeful in a while. “Is there anything you need, Miss Wendy?”
“Stop saying you’re sorry, you codfish. Just try to keep your word and promise things will be better. Even if it’s in the smallest of ways.” Wendy looked up at him and smiled, noticing he was talking like he once used to do. With hope. “In fact I do, Mr Pan. My nightgowns don’t fit anymore- do not dare say I’ve gained weight.” Wendy pointed her finger at his chest and chuckled. “So yes, I suppose I need new ones. I refuse to use pants just yet.”
“Wendy, I don’t want yo to be sad, I don’t want you to pretend.”
“I’m not pretending Will!- I just-” She groaned “I don’t fit in my own skin anymore and I’m trying my best to continue life as it used to be but it’s impossible” Wendy mumbled as she began tidying things up around the treehouse
“It’s okay, I’m a grown up to now, I can handle it… Tell me about it.”
“I can’t, I’m sorry” Wendy shook her head and regained her usual smile. “I’m usually the one to listen to your problems, not the other way around. I won’t let that change too”
“Why aren’t you happy Wendy?”
“I don’t know. I don’t like being a grown-up-... I shouldn’t be telling you this, I’m sorry”
“Then why don’t you just change it back? Don’t you miss it?”
“Oh I do, Will, you have no idea how much I miss everything the way it used to be. But I can’t, it’s so very out of my control. I’m not even happy anymore.”
Happy early birthday to J.M. Barrie! Thanks to this Scotsman, the world is richer with his beloved Neverland and its immortal characters. The collection is lucky enough to have a twelve volume set of Mr. Barrie’s works, including Peter and Wendy (the novel version of the tale). This set is part of a special edition and includes his signature and a hand-colored title page.

Two Mothers || Wendy & Nichole
“Well, why not? I’d love to hear about what London was like in your time. I haven’t been there in so long.”
“Because. All my tales used to have a happy ending, they where bright and full of colorful adventures, like my life. And it’s not anymore. It doesn’t feel right to tell a lie”
“Why not Wendy?”
“It doesn’t feel right anymore. Everything has changed too much”
“Sorry I-.. No I don’t tell stories anymore”
Hook heaved a heavy sigh, and I know not why it was, perhaps it was because of the soft beauty of the evening, but there came over him a desire to confide to his faithful bo'sun the story of his life. He spoke long and earnestly, but what it was all about Smee, who was rather stupid, did not know in the least.

“I guess I am,” he laughed softly, and scoffed at being called boring. “If you ever call me boring I’d have to throw you to the croc,” he smiled. Peter was already feeling a little lighter with talking with her, but he didn’t think he’d ever be as jovial as he once was. “You met.. Right.. I want you to know I never meant replace you Wendy.. If I had know you were still here I wouldn’t have asked her to be our mother. No one can replace you Wendy,” he said, reaching his arms around her, smiling down at her gently, though it didn’t reach his eyes. “I don’t think they will, Wendy. It seems to be pretty permanent to me.. I’m sorry.” He mumbled.
“But you did. You replaced me-... It doesn’t matter, Pete. I don’t mind, not anymore at least.” She smiled weakly up at him, a frown tainting her features yet she tried her best to brush it off once again. There wasn’t a bitter, malicious body within Wendy, but it was hard not to feel negative things when she had indeed been replaced by someone better. Wendy nodded sadly and leaned her head on his chest, biting the insides of her cheeks. “...Things can be better now, can’t they? I mean... I’m back, right? That should help somehow. We can try to make things feel normal again” She knew it was impossible, though. Not even her nightgowns fit anymore, and that was enough to make the girl feel weird enough.
