Install LaTeX for thesis at Uni Münster
1. Download MacTex from [here](http://ftp.join.uni-muenster.de/pub/software/CTAN/systems/mac/mactex/MacTeX.pkg) (I linked the Uni Münster Mirror directly since this is a Uni Münster specific guide) 2. Run the installer 3. Install non-free fonts that you will need for the Uni Münster template as follows: 1. Download the installer from [here](http://www.tug.org/fonts/getnonfreefonts/install-getnonfreefonts) 2. `cd` into the directory where you downloaded the file to (you will need to open your Terminal for this): `cd ~/Downloads` 3. Run the installer from the terminal: `sudo texlua install-getnonfreefonts` 4. Install all fonts (because why not): `getnonfreefonts --all` 4. Install slashbox as follows: 1. Download it [here](http://mirror.ctan.org/macros/latex/contrib/slashbox.zip) 2. Copy it to `/usr/local/texlive/texmf-local/tex/latex/` 5. Download the actual styles from [here](http://sourceforge.net/projects/wiwwutexstyles/) 6. Copy them to `/usr/local/texlive/texmf-local/tex/latex/` 7. Run `texhash` 8. You are all done

Alfred ToDo in iCal Extension
Today I took some time to hack together an extension that let's me create ToDos in iCal using the awesome Alfred App.
Note that you'll have to buy the Alfred Powerpack to use it.

How to use:
Open Alfred
Type "todo <Your ToDo Text>"
If you want to you can use !, !! or !!! to specify a priority
Example: "todo Remember the milk!!!"
If your language is not set to english you'll likely have to change the name of the calendar. In my case it was "Erinnerungen".

Pimping your Terminal to show current GIT branch and used Ruby version
As I started to increasingly frequent my OSX Terminal I also started to pimp it to make my daily live easier. The follwing snippets should be helpful if:
You are using GIT as your SCM.
You are using RVM to manage multiple versions of Ruby.
To use this snippet, you need to create a file in your home directory called ".git-completion.bash" with the following content: https://github.com/git/git/raw/master/contrib/completion/git-completion.bash.
After you have done that, you can copy the following lines into your ".bash_profile" file, that is located in your home directory.
Short explanation (only if you are interested what is going on):
\[\033[<xx>,<yy>m\] formats the following text. <xx> is used to make it bold (use 01), underline (use 02) or give it a background. <yy> is used to assign a color. Read here for more information.
\h returns the current host.
\w returns the current directory.
__git_ps1(%s) returns the current branch (courtesy of the git-completion.bash file we included above).
~/.rvm/bin/rvm-prompt returns the current Ruby version and Gemset that is being used in RVM.
The $ is just for displaying - well - a dollar symbol. Because it belongs there.
