My first attempt at making cover art for one of my podfics! It’s for the pod I posted this week of A Real Boy by Sineala. Still unsure how to deal with art in AO3 posts, so maybe covers will just be a tumblr bonus :)

I used photopea.com, and I think it turned out surprisingly okay! I’ll have to experiment more in the future.

To be perfectly honest, this is one of my favorite fics of all time; it resonated so deeply in a way I’ll never quite be able to explain. and I know it won’t get a lot of listens because of that “Bittersweet Ending” tag but it’s bittersweet in the best way, and the main characters in the fic do wind up happy together, and I really hope whoever listens to this loves it as much as I loved the original fic.

Intro post, I guess?

I finally made a fandom tumblr, YAY! Been meaning to for ages but kept forgetting because, uh... *points at anything but myself* ...that. I don’t know how active I’ll be here because i don’t know how to tumblr, but hiiiiii

what i do

I got into Marvel fandom AFTER Endgame, because my timing is always impeccable like that, and I’ve been podficcing (as M_Samro on AO3) for a little over a year now, wooo! 

My first project, because I do not know the meaning of starting small, was the 100k Star Trek AU by @sineala, Straight on till Morning, which I did in chapters, but then added Trek-y music and Trek sound effects for a full podbook version, and it’s all kinds of nerdtastic. 

...and things snowballed from there and somehow right now there’s a bidding war for me on Marvel Trumps Hate? Bananas.

podficcing preferences

I really gravitate toward the push & pull of Steve/Tony dynamics, although I do dip into other ships sometimes, like Sam/Steve or Steve/Tony/Bucky. 

I love figuring out the exact right song or music I want to use for a podfic, and I have a blast adding special effects. Sound effects don’t always fit every story, but when they do, I have lots of fun with them.

I don’t exactly take requests, but if you have a fic in mind that you’d really like me to consider podficcing, feel free to let me know! Even better if you know that the author has blanket permission for podficcers; that’s always helpful.

other fandom stuff?

I generally stick to podficcing but very occasionally inspiration strikes, and I’ll write something to make it go away. Theoretically, I’m working on a novel and am saving my writing juices for that, because i’m a boring non-fandom fiction writer irl, or I used to be.
