GG felt that AD betrayed him. When they were young and vain, the two of them vowed to change the world together. GG even said to Credence, you feel abandoned, I understand you, I was abandoned.

It was also because they were young that they accidentally killed Ariana in a quarrel.

After spliting, they still loved each other even if they stood on opposite sides. I can feel their constant longing and betrayal eroding their hearts.

AD probably didn't want to but had to stop GG, but the blood pact made it impossible for them to hurt each other.

When GG wanted to kill Credence, AD casted a counter-spell. The collision of the death spell and the protection spell broke the blood alliance.

Since then, the war has started, and there would be no more GGAD.
