[he’s a little intrigued and interested with how his teachers came to become teachers.]

"How did you end up becoming a teacher then? What made you decide you wanted to teach rather than create criminal profiles?"

[msjanssens]

"I was in the program for six months. And in those six months, I saw the worst humanity had to offer. It wore down on me, seeing so much... Darkness everyday. My professor noticed it and suggested I find another form of Post-Grad school. I'd always loved teaching people things, so I decided to get my teaching credentials. I've never regretted it."

"Alright. I have another question, Ms. Janssens, and I do hope it doesn’t make me sound ignorant, but what aspect of psychology do you specialize in and how does it differ from our guest speaker?"

[msjanssens]

"Oh no, you don't sound ignorant at all! That's actually an excellent question. At first, I was specialized in Criminal Psychology, and wanted to do profiling for law enforcement. Though, that's a specialized branch of the the specialization I chose. I'm sort of a catch-all, since I teach it. The speaker, however, is a clinical psychologist. He's a doctor, and researches the drugs effect on the brain."

"Is there a particular chapter you want us to read from the book before we come to class that day?"

[msjanssens]

"We'll be going over the chapter having to do with the brain on Monday, have the guest speaker on Tuesday, and then finish the chapter over the course of the week. So, don't worry about reading ahead! We're doing it together."

[msjanssens]

"On Tuesday, I'm going to be bringing in a guest speaker! He's a psychologist that specializes in the brain, and he'll be bring one with him."

Rumor is you were in a girl band in Belgium.

"Maybe I was, maybe I wasn't. Though I did move from Belgium before I was a teenager, so most likely not. I did, however, spend a free semester traveling. Now that was a wild time."

Cuddle, date, incinerate: Aileen, Yao, Arthur.

"What an odd question to ask! Not to mention it could hurt feelings. I find this question a bit juvenile for me to answer. Honestly, all three of them are attractive in their own ways. Arthur is... Arthur. He's hard to explain, but I adore him. Yao is intelligent, handsome, and good at his job. Aileen is a beautiful woman, she really is. Her hair is amazing. She's also funnier than you can imagine."

"I never said that until would come, now did I?"

"Ah, I would but I can't! You see, I have a very wonderful boyfriend and I'm afraid these lips belong to him, until he isn't. Chocolate kiss instead?"

[He only arches a brow at her laughter, but he’s silent with the utmost concentration as he hunts down that merlot. He’d been saving it for a special occasion, after all.]

"You can’t help yourself, can you? Though I’ve been reliably informed I am great fun to tease.”

[As he speaks, he’s contemplating how wise it is, exactly, to drink around her. To Hell with it; he bites back uncertainty to pour two rather liberal servings, because perhaps liquid courage is precisely what he needs. After unceremoniously discarding the bottle-opener, he offers her a glass.]

"Or perhaps I’m subtly bidding you not to be too cruel, darling. After the week I’ve had, I think I deserve this — wine whilst entertaining gorgeous company. Forgive me if if I’m rusty, but there hasn’t been much of the latter in this town.”

[msjanssens]

[The Englishman goes off on search, for the bottle of Merlot she would assume. Emma sat herself down on a chair, crossing her legs delicately.]

"I really can't. Whomever your source is, is telling the truth. You are far too much fun to tease. And the teasing's just as fun for me, I promise you that."

[The bottle makes an appearance after a moment, and her boyfriend is opening it. Wine has always been one of her vices. When she drank it, she often drank too much. Today, however, she would slow down on drinking. At least a little bit. Cupid's bow lips curled into an enigmatic grin. Emma took the glass from Arthur.]

"Flattery will get you everywhere. Perhaps I won't be so cruel to you, but only because you've had a rough week and you keep calling me gorgeous. Now come sit down, Arthur. You're going to worry yourself gray."

[His hands gravitate instinctively to her hips, because he hadn’t been expecting her to kiss back so contentedly. And he’s suddenly extremely reluctant to pull away from her, quietly indulging in her shape, the warmth of her… or perhaps it’s because she feels eerily right for him, but he knows he’s infatuated enough to think such impossible things.]

"Oh, but now you’re not being fair. I’d rather stay here, but I suppose it’s polite…"

[With some difficulty, he prises away from her. In order to keep his hands off the gorgeous Belgian in his hallway, he clasps them behind his back — glancing over his shoulder as he sets off for the kitchen.]

"Don’t worry about any roaming pets or nieces; I made sure to clear the premises. It’s just you and me, darling, so if you tease me now I’m not above revenge.”

[Emma can feel his hesitation and she would by lying if she said it didn't give her a small amount of pleasure to know that she affected him in such a way. In that moment, she was completely content to simply remain in her arms. There was no place in the world she'd have rather been. But that could have been the butterflies traveling from her stomach to her brain.]

"No one said I had to be fair, darling."

[Emma laughed and smiled at him, nodding in understanding. He'd cleared his home for her. He pulls away from her first, and she finds herself missing his touch and warmth.]

"Just you and I, you say? And revenge? Promises, promises."

[He does wonder why a woman like her is bothering to give him the time of day, but it’s not a melancholy thought: rather, he grins, easing back enough to reach for her hand.]

[Reverent, he laces his fingers with hers and leads her into the hallway, elbowing the door shut behind them. The satisfying click of the latch tells him no prying neighbours can see — so he leans in to kiss her properly, still smiling even against her mouth. Too alive with nervous energy to do so for long, he pulls away, tongue darting over his lip.]

“I don’t think it’s the wind you should be worrying about, my dear, but my first priority is asking if you’d like some tea… followed by an alternative, more interesting offer of merlot.”

[Their fingers brush before he laces them together, and she smiles when their skin touches. It's barely enough to be considered such, but it warms her anyway. She followed him into the apartment, careful to watch for the cat he often mentions. It would be a poor first impression to step on the poor thing's tail.]

[The door is shut and his lips are upon hers. She knew it was coming, of course, and is more than ready to return the favor. Her free hand slid up to to grasp the collar of his shirt, no doubt wrinkling the fabric. It's a sort kiss, but it leaves her glowing with joy.]

"If it's not the wind, I'm not worried. Hmm... I'll pass on the tea, but I'd love a glass of merlot."

[He didn’t wait for something so formal as her ringing the bell — mostly because he’d been brooding over tea in the kitchen for good luck. The sound of a vehicle pulling up outside sent him rushing for the door, but he did his best to regain a suave front by immediately greeting her with a kiss to the cheek.]

"Christ, darling, I feel positively under-dressed — but you make a habit of putting me to shame, don’t you?" [He shamelessly took a moment to admire her, though swiftly moved to beckon her inside.] "But it’s too cold to keep you waiting. Now you’ve seen the place, are you certain you want to come in?”

[Arthur's door is already open when she arrived at his apartment. The curious look on her features was replaced by a positively smitten expression as he kissed her cheek the moment he saw her. She laughed and returned the kiss, small hands finding their way to his forearms.]

"Let's say I just like to dress up for you, hmm? Besides, where else am I going to wear all my nice clothes, if not to impress my boyfriend?"

[His eyes are searing on her. She can feel them looking her over, and she offers an easy smile full of promises.]

"Absolutely certain. Now invite me in before the wind musses up my hair. That should be your job."

She hummed at this information and mentally noted it. “I should eat a bunch of watermelon then! Just to be sure. My doctor said I could probably find ouf next month what gender it is, maybe. It’s sort of in the air, but I hope I can!” She giggled and smiled, nodding. “Mm, we’ll spoil her with cute dresses and lots of toys and love.” She smiled and gently laid a hand on her stomach a little, humming. “True, maybe if I save up for a few months I can get a nice house or a loft apartment near the school? I don’t have a car, yet, so it would have to be rather close to the school…”

"Agreed! We'll have to buy you one while we're out." Emma winked playfully, the humor tinging her voice's tone, "Next month? Oh, that's quite soon! The baby will be here before you know it. Have you thought of any names yet?" The Belgian nodded towards her French cousin, agreeing with that idea. They would spoil that little girl rotten, she was sure of it, "I'm sure you can. My house is a fifteen minute walk and a ten minute drive from the school, and I got a fantastic deal. It's a new neighborhood, so they were looking hard for buyers. I'm still using a rental car!" She laughed, shaking her head.
