WORSE ? for a second , he thinks of a vault , the chilling hiss of DARKNESS , threatening to ERADICATE everything in its path , a CLOUD of DEATH & oblivion , a GRAVE turned mist . at least the kett can be killed . he shrugs it off , shaking his head to disperse the swirl of memories . until the NEXT VAULT they encounter , the deadly cloud of nasty ruin is nothing but a thing of the past . ❛ you’re in another GALAXY , fighting aliens who want to KILL you . ❜ the kett are relentless in that & worse than that , they’re RESOURCEFUL . ❛ there’s no shame in being scared . it’s a perfectly natural reaction to them . ❜ he reaches out , hand on the other’s shoulder , squeezing for a second . he knows EXACTLY what it’s like to put up a front ——— EVERY DAY he pretends to know what he’s doing , even when he’s feeling LOST . ❛ just don’t get cocky . they’re a nasty piece of work . ❜

❛ weeeeell , i’m used to the whole alien out to KILL ME thing , but ... ❜ he pauses and starts to chew his cheek. but what ? these aren’t the same things he used to fight it’s not RITA . he’s quiet as isaac continues , eyes cast to the ground. his mind wanders a second too long , what was rita doing now ? did some of the rangers get back to earth yet ? was zordon making a NEW team ? there’s a twisting feeling in his stomach , like it’s wringing itself out. for a moment , he actually feels sick. the hand on the shoulder jars him back to reality : this reality , one where he’s fighting kett and NOT thinking about what’s going on in a dimension he’s no longer connected to. he focuses on isaac , letting his words sink in. he really should start listening to advice like this again. ❛ yeah , yeah , alright. funnily enough , cora mentioned somethin’ like that that to me , too. after she ... pinned me to the wall in five seconds. ❜ a smile appears , ❛ hey , i’m used to fighting up close , force of habit you know ? ❜ he thinks about leaving it there , but instead he decides to keep running his damn mouth , ❛ nobody’s voted to kick me off the ship yet , right ? ❜

❛ you did GOOD back there . were you nervous ? ❜ he knows HE was ; first time fighting the kett ? it feels like ages ago , but it remains a FRESH MEMORY . they’re dangerous , violent ————— & pretty UGLY up close .

❛ NERVOUS ?? nah , i’ve probably seen worse. ❜ he’s lying through his teeth. the putties , at least , weren’t sentient. the putties weren’t necessarily ALIVE . these are living aliens ( evil , nasty aliens ) that don’t CRUMBLE when they’re finished , their body just lays there . they weren’t exactly ... easy , either. god he misses his super strength. ❛ what , did you THINK i’d be scared , dude ? ❜
