and, oh. uh. well. ”you want me to come with you,” he says, slowly, as if he’s actually considering the proposition. his gaze flickers to callie before they land on nate again, tongue pressed to the inside of his cheek. “…after telling me you’re fortnite thor?” but he ends that sentence on a (rather gentle, if he’s being honest) jab. because he knows nate’s joking, and he doesn’t want callie to get the wrong impression. moon has to be, anyway, because levi’s never known him to be that forward, and he’s not about to give this more thought than he has to. not again. because, well, if he does, he might actually end up wanting it.
so he laughs it off instead, nodding over at callie to imply that they should go ahead and run along. “kahee, take your man after midnight with you before i take him up on that offer.” and they wouldn’t want that, now would they?
well, that was definitely an interesting proposition.
even in her tipsy stupor, callie was rather surprised by nate’s proposal and based off levi’s look of disbelief, she could tell that he was taken back as well. but there was a pause between the three of them, the junior glancing between the two males to get a feel of what was going on in their heads. nate obviously wasn’t joking and it definitely wasn’t an accidental suggestion either. he would have gotten way too flustered by now if it was. he was dead serious and shamelessly so.
callie’s attention turned back to levi and — oh, so he was thinking about it. she can see the wheels turning inside his head even if it was just for a brief moment, but it was evident enough that he opted to give her an out despite being vaguely tempted by the idea himself. hmm, now this was getting more interesting.
“well, maybe, you should take it. you should come with us.” the words escaped her lips before she had much time to think about it which, granted, she has been doing a lot these days. but she stood by what she offered, far too gone and turned on to actually care how shocking it may have sounded out loud between the three of them. with her own playful glint in her eyes, she lent out her free hand for levi to take, hopefully tempting him further to actually give into the idea to — you know — just try it out for the evening. after all, it’s just for fun. where’s the harm in that?
“regardless, i’m either leaving with one of you or both of you,” she decided firmly though there was some amusement underlying her tone. “so what do you think? want to have some fun?”

she was grateful that they were coming. that was her thought as she distractedly watched her phone screen fade to black after reading the final message from nate. she knew she was hitting her limit with the drinking, her vision blurry from both the alcohol and her exhaustion combined while she can feel her face growing warmer by the second. but, of course, she was stubborn. she didn’t want to go back to the dorms yet, not with the way she was still feeling. and although it was probably only wishful thinking on her part, she hoped that levi and nate would at least hang out with her a bit before dragging her back to campus.
callie sipped on her drink slowly, the taste not appealing to her anymore. it seems like all she really wanted was some company after all, not the booze; and she could have told herself that sooner if she wasn’t hellbent on being stupid. resting her head into her palm as her arm was propped up against the counter by her elbow, the junior closed her eyes for a moment to refocus herself. she didn’t know how many minutes had passed, but by the time her eyes had opened again, two very distinctive but oh-so-familiar voices were getting louder as they approached where she was. lifting her head almost instantly, an easy grin formed on callie’s lips, her attention now fully turned towards the two men who came to meet her.
“nathaniel! levi—athan?” she couldn’t help but laugh at that one though it probably definitely confirmed just how drunk she was at that moment. sure, her jokes were normally sub-par, but that one was just terrible. “i missed you guys sooooo much. come sit with me!”

to say she was disappointed was a vast understatement. nahyun felt beyond incompetent about her performance in her first official match. a reserve player for so long in both beauxbatons and now here, she had seen this as her chance to finally prove she was made to be a main beater but no, the one time she actually got the chance to knock someone out and seek to benefit her team she missed.
the mood was of course sour after their loss but above all she felt the strongest urge to apologize to callie. “cap… I’m sorry for not playing up to par,” she murmurs with her head down. both her and taejun worked so hard during practice to get them to work as a unit and yet here she was as the newbie, ruining everything by getting too clogged up in her head.
callie didn’t expect the suddenly apology that came from the freshmen in front of her. why was she apologizing? if anything, it should be callie apologizing to her and the rest of the team. they all practiced and trained hard for this upcoming match. it really wasn’t anyone’s fault that they lost. and if there was somebody to blame, it would the captain -- not the team.
“hey, you did the best you could! there’s no harm done.” callie smiled softly at the other trying to encourage her to perk up. maybe the team became too confident because of their last win that they lost today. or maybe it was because they practiced too much individually rather than together. there could have been many reasons why suseong didn’t win this match, but it’s something for the captains to fix, not for the new players to stress over. “it’s only your first match and hwaseong is the strongest team to beat anyway. we’ll just get them next time.”

as the chat flashes on the screen in who is being suspicious xander can’t help looking up across the room where callie is sitting a table away, typing in her own inquiries. half the group is accusing ethan and he simply sends his reasoning back. xander on the other hand remains silent like he usually does, letting the chaos unfold by itself unless if he’s witnessed something interesting enough to turn everyone on each other.
if anything, xander is curious about if callie is the impostor or not. it seems the suseong female always gets the role but no one ever assumes it’s her. so, xander takes another glance up just in time to catch her looking at him as well and a small grin spreads across his lips.
she really should be studying. every couple of minutes or so, she would remind herself of that notion as her fingers continued to glide along the screen of her phone with the familiar little blue crewmate running around on her whim. but with how fast and easy it was to play this game and after a little coaxing from the shared group chat she’s in with some of her friends, of course majority ruled and callie found herself with a couple of games already under her belt. so she’s weak. what else is new?
speaking of new, another round has started and once again, callie is the imposter. how many times was it now? three, four times in a row? it’s honestly a little ridiculous how often she gets the role, but still hilarious in the way that it really takes so long for people to figure her out it’s her each time. so she plays as she usually does — pretend to do the card swipe task, scope out who’s in electrical or navigation, then go back around and kill the first person who’s alone and vent away to safety while her cooldown resets.
she had only managed to get two kills in before one of the bodies were eventually reported, only to be pleasantly surprised that there were actually three kills in total in the span of the first few minutes of the match. thank merlin for the second imposter. the chat began to go off wildly, accusations already being thrown around as some players chose to make petty comments towards each other rather than share any solid evidence on who the two imposters could actually be. well, callie couldn’t complain that much. as long as there were no suspicions on her or her imposter partner, she really only had to play along. poor ethan though. she had seen him personally do downloads over at admin just a minute ago and now he’s the first one being heavily suspected. ouch.
sharing her own ‘suspicions’ to the chat and reminding everyone to skip because they’re only on ‘seven,’ the junior leaned back in her chair for a minute to stretch her back and neck only to catch eyes with a familiar face sitting not too far away. and seeing the knowing grin that had appeared on the grad student’s lips, callie just knew that she was found out. wow, some luck she had.
giving him a small shrug and hoping to play it off as nothing, callie pursed her lips together and returned her eyes to her screen. the voting period had ended and she was right; ethan was definitely voted off and he was indeed not the imposter. poor ethan.
biting the inside of her cheek, the junior had her little crewmate roam along the familiar skeld halls once again, scoping out for her next victim. figuring she should at least kill levi or nate next to deter from favoritism, she sees xander instead, pausing briefly to determine if she should actually kill him now or not. he knew too much obviously, but she already hesitated too long. it was too late to go in for the kill so she fakes a task by him instead, hoping that they can go their separate ways without incident. she can trust him to keep quiet about her intentions, right? or was that just wishful thinking?

a goldfish adventure.
nate isn’t surprised callie goes along with the pure white lie, even playing a much better part than him. that part about the puppy? absolute stroke of genius. not that he would call callie a liar — god no, definitely not — but he himself is definitely too honest to ever come up with some way to turn this lie more elaborate. and so he resigns himself to playing his part of a loving and supportive boyfriend, letting callie take charge of the situation. which is — heh — usually how things go between the two of them, anyway.
which seems like a good idea until she hits him with the very familiar term of endearment. well, okay, it still is a good idea, he’s just… hahhh! had it not been for the part he’s trying to play, he would definitely have side eyed the younger just about now, as callie knows what that word does to him. and while she’s been known to throw it around accidentally at times, this time it feels like it’s on purpose, especially with the way it’s emphasized.
still, he must play his part, so he does his best to keep himself together, though he’s sure there’s at least a light, pink flush in his cheeks. “two seems like a perfect idea,” he agrees, and honestly, yeah, it kind of is. he hadn’t really considered that the one fish might get lonely. at least this way the fish will have a friend. “then we can name one each!” he can’t help but grin excitedly at the idea. “i already know what i’m naming mine.” nemo, of course, after his favorite movie of all time — he’s thought about this.
the store owner is quick to accommodate callie’s request. “of course you can have a look around! please, be my guest, and let me know if you need any help at all. i’ll leave you be for now.”
with a smile passed at the woman, nate once again takes hold of callie’s hand, and moves towards the fish tanks, away from the owner. despite her promise to leave them alone for the time being, he can practically feel her gaze on them, as she’s clearly still keeping an eye on them. better not drop the act completely, then. but — surely she can’t hear them if they talk in hushed voices.
“callie,” he murmurs quietly, though he somehow still manages to sound whiny. “you’re so mean to me, you know that, right?” now it’s his turn to pout. “i know you did that on purpose. you’re evil.”
callie smiled at the store owner pleasantly after she and nate were given the go ahead to explore the store at their convenience. expressing a quick word of thanks towards the older woman, the junior was quickly led over to the fish displays by the geumseong captain, her hand taken back into his. it was obvious that he wanted to keep up the act a little bit longer, especially with the store owner still carefully watching them like a hawk. however, when they finally received a moment to themselves, callie felt herself biting back an amused grin. she knew she had caused a slip up just moments before and with the way nate was already whining to her, she knew it was already too late for her to take it back.
“it wasn’t on purpose, i swear.” she whispers back to him though it was clear that she found the situation hilarious regardless. obviously, this wasn’t the first time she made a mistake like this so the fact that the older of the two still managed to become flustered by the term of endearment accident or not, it only encouraged callie to be more obvious about it. but then again, she wasn’t mean or evil for that matter. she had to at least prove nate wrong in that aspect. “it honestly just slipped out! it was a completely, innocent mistake.”
eyes flickering over to the store owner once again, callie decided to put on the playful girlfriend act once again. with how small the store was and with how glanced over they are, the two definitely weren’t going to get a breather any time soon. they might as well make the most of it, right? so callie gets on her tip toes and presses a peck against nate’s lips, partially out of apology for being careless before and partially because, well... why not? they were supposed to be acting like a couple anyway so what’s a few takes in initiative to act like it?
“do you see which one you like yet, love?” she asked finally ending the whispering session between them. they have to sound like an actual couple now if they were actually going to pull this entire act off. looking at the tanks filled with goldfish they were looking for, callie pointed to a random one who seemed rather speedy compared to the others. “look at him! he’s cute! look at him go!”

this isn’t it |
she just couldn’t wrap her head around it.
they did everything right up to this point. everyone showed up to practice, committing hours a day to prepare for every match. they ran every drill and play they know; and still, suseong had another humiliating defeat. she just couldn’t figure out what were they doing so wrong.
callie berated herself as soon as the match was called, cheers erupting from the stands as levi had once again caught the snitch. it was his comeback. he deserved it. callie knew that and she wanted that for him. he took the sport more seriously than anyone she’s ever met and has trained much harder for it too. and regardless of how she feels, she was happy for him. but there was something about losing almost three times consecutively that the junior captain herself just couldn’t get over.
was it her? was she the reason why suseong just couldn’t pull ahead? it had to be because their quidditch team has never had a losing streak this bad in the last three years she has been here. was it the way she was leading? was she being too soft, too hard? was she not being committed to her team enough? thousands of questions plagued her mind, but all the answers still pointed to one thing:
she was the variable. she was the problem. she wasn’t pulling her weight. she didn’t deserve to be captain. that’s all there was to it.
msulevi:
with @msucallie on the quidditch pitch
it’s only a day — correction: about twelve hours, give or take — before the next quidditch match, and levi’s kind of anxious. of course he is, after that horrendous match last game. he can’t afford another screw up like that. and what does levi do when he’s troubled? no, it’s not beating the crap out of a punching bag, because that’s reserved for his anger. when he’s unsettled, he takes refuge on the quidditch pitch. usually it’s to fly around, but this time, though, he’s not on his broom. instead, he’s lying down right in the middle of the pitch, staring up at the night sky. he’s pretty sure they’re not supposed to be out here anymore at this hour, but that’s about the last thing on his mind right now.
they, because it’d only taken callie about fifteen minutes before she’d found him here, after he hadn’t responded to a text she’d sent earlier. ‘missed me too much, did you?’ he’d greeted her the minute she’d come into view, but after promising her that he’s fine and telling her that she shouldn’t worry so much or else she’ll get even more of those premature wrinkles, he’d pulled her down with him. one transfigured scarf later, they’d wrapped themselves up in a blanket. he doesn’t know how long they’ve been here, but that’s okay.
“what d’you think—” he starts, after levi deems it necessary to break the comfortable silence between them. it’s said in a way that makes it obvious he’s about to spew something ridiculous, but there’s a pause as he stretches noisily, trying his best to smother a yawn but failing miserably. his back kind of hurts. snug blanket or not, the ground’s not as cosy anymore after that first hour of lying here. despite that, he doesn’t make any attempt to get up, instead letting his arm drape back around callie’s shoulders before repeating: “what do you think the moon rabbit’s makin’ in his mortar right now?” ah, there it is.
if there is one thing she knows about levi, it’s how he tries to shoulder everything on his own even if the situation is out of his control. he’s stubborn and overly independent. he rarely relies on other people when it comes to his own feelings and it's no secret that he acts impulsively on them as well. in all honestly, it isn’t hard to read how the hwaseong actually feels — not to callie, at least. when he’s angry, he lashes out. when he’s upset, he sulks and pouts. when he’s excited, he grins so widely, so mischievously, he’s like a child who has just received his new favorite toy in the whole wide world. but he isn’t any of these things now. no, this was something totally different that she couldn’t quite place her finger on.
levi rarely leaves callie ‘on read,’ if at all. regardless whether or not he was busy, he would at least text her back asking her if they can talk later or would call her immediately if he was actually free. she knew he wasn’t asleep just yet as they both tend to spend their nights a little late the night before a quidditch match, so after waiting about half an hour for some sort of response or s.o.s from her best friend ( because who knows with levi, truly ), callie finally decides to take a walk — her body immediately b-lining towards the quidditch pitch.
‘i thought i’d find you here.’ her voice broke the silence of the chilly autumn air, playfully rolling her eyes at the other’s quip as she approached him. they had their usual banter, mostly callie light-heartedly telling the senior to ‘shove off’ as he made fun of the worry lines on her face just before finding herself cuddled up next to him only moments later out of his retaliation. she couldn’t even find the energy to retort how unfair it was for him to use his strength against her ( oh, how she hated being small ) because now she is in the comfort of his warmth, the transfigured blanket doing its job to keep them huddled together as they quietly looked up at the deep night sky.
the new silence was long, but it was comfortable. time seemed to have stopped for them for a moment, neither one of them making any sudden movements while the only sounds coming from them are the sounds of their slowed breathing. it was getting later and later, but they aren’t actually aware how much time has passed. at one point, callie was catching herself dozing off, perhaps being a little too much at ease while in levi’s embrace, the warmth from the blanket only adding more to her comfort. but then she hears him finally breaking the night’s stillness, expectantly waiting to hear what he has to say.
he shifts and she moves along with him, readjusting herself so that they’re both a little more comfy ( though they can only do so much with what they had especially with the ground beneath them ). then the question was finally spoken; and with how bizarre it may have sounded to anyone else if they heard it, it wasn’t bizarre to callie. not in the slightest. she took a moment to think about it carefully, her eyes lingering thoughtfully on the moon as it beamed directly above them, a soft hum escaping her lips.
“maybe… he’s grinding up people’s wishes.” she spoke after a moment or two. she knew it didn’t make sense considering the actual legends of the the moon rabbit. but with levi, she also knew he wouldn’t mind her spewing her own sort of nonsense. besides, where would be the fun without a little imagination? “i think he listens to the conversations of the people gazing up at him and keeps their wishes for them. he grinds those wishes up, puts them in little jars, and then grants them for you when you need them the most — probably in ways you’d least expect it to.”
she shrugs a little, looking a little bit amused by her own response. “but that’s just me. what real answer are you looking for, levi?”
update!
hey guys! i’m sorry that i haven’t really been active. i’ve been struggling with writing a lot these days to the point where, if i’m lucky, i respond only once a week. to me, it’s stressful knowing i still owe replies to threads that i started back in september and that the majority of my threads now have only been event-related. so in order to get myself more active, i’m going to be lessening my work load so i can start fresh with new, more up-to-date threads and become more accessible to those who are still interested in plotting/threading with callie.
so if callie has a thread with your muse that takes place in september, october, or have anything to do with the last two events (msu:mayhem or msu:mausoleum), i will officially be dropping those threads today but will be open to plotting/threading something completely different for our muses if you wish to continue interacting with callie <3
with that said, if you wish for me to come to you for plotting or a new thread idea, please like this post and i’ll come to you as soon as i can! thank you all for being so patient with me! <3
msunate·:
end of the day.
watching the matrix with @msucallie and @msulevi.
nate kind of feels like he’s about to fall asleep. it’s been a long day, despite both quidditch matches being surprisingly short, especially compared to most of the other matches this season. he doesn’t really want to think about quidditch, though, not now — he’ll deal with having to put his team through harder training later. for now, he’d like to focus on just about anything else instead.
anything else being this movie, apparently. the matrix, levi’s favorite. nate isn’t sure exactly what is going on in it — something about a simulation? or computers? something like that. the plot line is a touch too intricate for him to properly process (besides, he’s more of an animation guy), but he’s been trying, all the while fighting the urge to close his eyes.
“i don’t get this,” he says, trying to stifle a yawn. admittedly, he does feel somewhat bad for not being able to pay attention, for not getting it — they’re watching this for levi, after all, and he wanted to do this for him, to do anything to keep the seeker distracted. still, he needs some kind of explanation if he’s going to have any hopes of keeping up with the second half of the movie.
“why are they in some kind of alternate universe now? i’m so confused.” from his seat behind levi on the couch, he glances over at callie, eyes searching her expression to figure out if she’s as lost as him.
it had been a few hours since the matches had ended for the day and after being checked out of the infirmary, callie was free to go on about her evening — though she’d be lying if she said that upper body didn’t hurt like hell. sure, she had worse beatings by bludgers in previous games, but merlin, nate sure had one hell of a swing.
although she felt a little bad for not going out to celebrate with her team when it was their first win, she was glad to take it easy tonight not only for the sake of her own scrapes and bruises, but to also help keep levi company. it was shocking to see hwaseong have their first loss of the season and knowing how hard levi can be on himself, callie would much rather be readily available to him more than anything else. it seemed like nate had the same idea.
so the three of them were situation in the seeker’s dorm, entangled on his couch as they watched levi’s favorite film. she had seen the matrix with levi before, perhaps some time earlier last year, the other shocked and perhaps even appalled at the idea that she had never watched the film before. of course, he was more than willing to show her despite the confusion she had through most if it. fast forward to present day, some concepts of the film were still pretty confusing, but at least callie felt a bit more accomplished at the realization that some of the missing pieces were starting to come together through her second watch through.
a knowing smile crossed her lips as nate expressed his confusion at what was happening so far in the movie. she’d been there and was glad to know she wasn’t the only one confused during their first sit through. meeting gazes with nate, she merely shrugged unsure whether her guess was as good as his.
“i think they’re in some sort of simulation?” she offers as she picks at the popcorn sitting on her lap before passing it over to levi who was sitting across from her with nate. “the matrix is the simulation and everyone living inside it are actually trapped. i think — what his name — neo, yeah. he has to stop the matrix from the inside out to free everyone from this fake virtual world, right?”
the lady of the ring pop
@msudotty
“dotty, why are you saving this?” the question itself was more confused rather than accusatory. it’s been some time since halloween has passed and since then, her roommate has been keeping a ring pop sealed in some container despite it still being kept in its original packaging. somewhat. anyway, it has been sitting in the middle of the dorm since then, but with both callie and dotty being in and out of their dorm constantly, the younger of the two never found the time to actually ask her roommate about it. so holding the container in her hands and lifting it up to show the other, callie raised a curious eyebrow. “were you planning on eating it or should i throw it away—? it’s trash day.”
procrastination
@nisamsu
“nisa! are you busy? please tell me you’re free—” her words came out quick, desperate even. no matter how hard she tried to hide her stress, it was apparent that the junior was in over her head. and with final exams being just around the corner, everyone was prepping for non-stop study sessions to go over the semester’s curriculum and start any end-of-the year projects that were left behind until the last minute. “i swear if i write one more word about the inferi for this term paper, i’m going to explode.” maybe that was a tad dramatic, even for callie. “do you want to go catch a movie with me to save me from insanity? i think they already started playing holiday specials at orbit theatre. so yay? christmas!”
a pick me up
@msukirby
“so miss, are you all alone? can i buy you a drink?” there was laughter behind callie’s words as she leaned against the counter kirby was waiting next to. the two juniors decided to meet up at honeydew after class for some down time, kirby arriving a bit earlier than she did which was perfect for the suseong’s set up for a pick up line. she was obviously teasing, of course. even callie cringed at her dumb joke, but it didn’t make it any less amusing. “i know. that was so bad, but i had to! the opportunity was there! but seriously, did you order anything yet?” callie excused herself with another chuckle, hoping to use her next offer as some form of an apology towards her longtime friend. hey, it’s the least she can do after such a cheap attempt at a comedic bit. “my treat today!”
