alright, y’all. seeing as we’re nearing december and i want to make some room for new threads/development, i’ll be dropping some past event threads! however, if you want to end it them with a reply (or even continue it, especially if you feel like it’s to develop your character) then don’t be afraid to hit me up. i’ll also be making a plot call soon 🤡 for now, here’s an overview!
msudotty:
scales: missing in action!
and, according to @msulevi, so is kermit!
ugh, that scales. he’s sure been away a lot recently, hasn’t he? in the past few weeks, he’s managed to escape her dorm room, several times at that! and with nowhere to be found in the suseong common rooms, either. most of the times, he turned up again on his own, but then there was that one time she’d found him in the dungeons, of all places.
today he’s missing, again. and today, dotty swears she’ll come to the bottom of what exactly he’s up to these days. this university, though? it’s huge, like, hogwarts level huge. so while she doesn’t expect finding her toad to be an easy task, she does have a slight idea on where to begin looking — the dungeons, where she’d found him last.
and perhaps it’s not surprising when she finds him there again. a new favorite spot, perhaps? has he gotten tired of the airiness of the suseong tower? maybe she needs to start going on walks with him. what is surprising, though, is that this time, she finds him with another toad. and… is that…?
“AHHHH!!!” a shrill shriek leaves her, at the sight of what looks suspiciously a lot like toad eggs. “scales! are you starting a family? and you didn’t think to tell me?!” dotty bends down, getting a closer look at the two toads. “awww, scales. i’m so happy for you! who’s your girlfriend?”
kermit’s been missin’ an awful lot. levi’s not one to worry because his toad’s almost like a cat: she goes on wild adventures — he’s seen her terrorize a few of the other pets that walk around campus — but she’s always home in time for dinner. this time around, however, she hadn’t been. and she hadn’t been home for breakfast either. yeah, levi’s not one to worry, but he thinks this is reason enough to be mildly concerned.
where’s this damn toad? could be that she’s somewhere in the dungeons, again. it’s her favorite spot, aside from the pool of universe, and he’d seen her with another toad there a while ago. she hadn’t been bullying it, though, they’d been sitting there vibin’. maybe she’s made a friend, that’d be kind of cute. being forever alone must get boring.
but he should make sure, just so he knows she’s not in any trouble. his toad’s like him: sturdy, able to take care of herself. doesn’t mean she doesn’t need a little help once in a while, even if kermit’s never ready to accept it. wait, is he talking about his toad or himself at this point? who knows. he’s gotta check out the dungeons.
it’s an incredibly shrill shriek that welcomes him. uh. “dotty,” he’s eyeing her almost warily, as if she’s about to lose her marbles. then again, is that even possible when she’s already lost ‘em ages ago? “what’re you doing with my toad? what— are those? eggs?” oh no. he’s too handsome to be a grandfather, what the hell.
msusoohwa:
› apple of the eye
@msulevi
soohwa refuses to admit that he has such a thing as favorite students. he treats any and everyone who he tutors or teaches as fairly as he can manage. he doesn’t give special treatment to anyone because he doesn’t see why he should. but what he can admit is that there are some people he ended up spending time with for being a ta that ended up softening his heart a little more than others, who caught his attention for this reason or that more than any others. it isn’t soohwa’s fault that there are some students that he sees more potential than others and he always wants to explore that potential. it’s not his fault that he might be a little weak to hardworking people, to those who are trying their best and more to get the best result and that ends up making soohwa want for them to succeed as much if not more than themselves.
of course soohwa has heard about levi, has heard things that he barely remembers if he has to be honest because he never pays too much attention to gossip unless they’re about himself and a certain geumseong junior. besides, it isn’t like it’s any of his business with how levi handles the people he involves himself with. but soohwa also knows levi, one of the hardworking, perhaps even a little prodigy — not like the head student would admit it so easily at levi’s face —, students of dada that he has ever had. and for him, that’s all that matters.
soohwa wouldn’t go as far as to say that levi is one of his favorite students — because again, he doesn’t have favorite students to begin with —, but he does admit he might have a little soft spot for the hwaseong student (which is another small miracle in itself, since usually soohwa tries to stay away from hwaseong like a slytherin tries to stay away from gryffindor), especially when they don’t have classes together anymore, but soohwa still likes to meet up with him, still likes to help levi even if at this point it’s much more likely that the head student will be giving him advance material than anything else. and, well, if that also means checking up on levi from time to time then no one is there to call him out on it.
“how are your nonverbal spells going?” soohwa asks, taking a sip of his 8th cup of coffee of the day, to keep him awake since he still has classes to attend later in the day and an assignment to finish. “i could use some practice of that if you’d like to join me?”
levi’s a beast at quidditch, that much is common knowledge. he’s also a great dueler, if his co-presidency is something to brag about (it is, if you ask him). but one thing he’s consistently praised for too (at least by his teacher) is his knowledge of DADA. maybe it’s not something he’s known for — but that’s only because it’s not something he’s open about. to everyone who asks, becoming a famous quidditch player, if not the best there ever is, has been his lifelong goal. and it is. but it’s always good to have a fallback plan, and becoming an auror is exactly that for levi. of course, not a lot of people are privy to this, because levi has to keep that mysterious aura of his. okay, that’s a lie, no one would think that of him except for levi himself, trying to act cool.
honestly, levi’s just not as open as other people of his age. there’s only a select few with who he can actually be serious with, talking about his aspirations, his studies… it’s not something he does a lot. showing that he actually gives a shit about his future? ha! that’s not him... except it is. and soohwa? soohwa is one of those people who know this about him without having to ask, someone he considers a friend, if not somewhat of a mentor. he’s taught levi a lot, and though levi’s not one to show how grateful he is to anyone (at least not in public — yeah, it's a common occurance), he does appreciate him a whole ass lot. that’s why it’s never a chore to hang out with the TA, but rather a fun experience.
“my nonverball spells? easy,” he’s quick to boast, sure, but if there’s one thing about levi that’s irrevocably true, it’s that he usually has reason to. to prove it, and as a demonstration, he doesn’t hesitate to take out his wand. there’s a swish, a flick, two even, and then the cup in soohwa’s hand suddenly floats out of his hand and right into levi’s. sure, accio is one of the easiest spells to do nonverbally, but that’s not the point. It’s also not exactly spell commonly used in defense against the dark arts, but that’s also not the point. the point is, he now has a cup of coffee.
without bothering to ask for permission, he takes a sip of of the drink. oh, ew, that’s way too strong. making a face, he offers it back towards soohwa. “this is disgusting, what the hell’s in here? sewer water?”
msunate:
flushed emoji.
“hey, they’re not my customers,” he’s is quick to insist, “i don’t even work here.” though, levi does make a fair point — he doesn’t usually treat his mother’s customers with such bluntness. then again, the customers aren’t usually kang levi, which he should be thanking whatever higher-ups there are for, judging by the topic immediately brought up upon his arrival.
following a quick look to the back, to make sure his mother is still not here (because god knows he’d be beyond ashamed had she just heard levi’s words), there’s a roll of his eyes at levi’s words. “sorry, no special treatment here, kang. just didn’t expect to see you here, that’s all.” it’s not like levi deals much in potions, does he?
the reason for his visit is soon explained, though, as nate is handed a crumpled list of items. there’s a glance over at levi, bordering on a glare, as he smooths the piece of paper out to the point where it’s readable. okay. so there’s a few ingredients he doesn’t recognize, but thankfully for him, he knows everything is labeled on the shelves.
“i’ll, uh, get them for you.” with a nod, he leaves levi as he goes to grab the right ingredients, making quick work of it despite carefully double checking everything. he doesn’t know dahlia, but if he’s being honest, the grad student does slightly intimidate him. just a little bit — enough for him to want to ensure there’s no room for error. once everything’s collected (again, he’s carefully double checked that he got everything), he brings it all back to the register, again facing levi.
“so…” how do you talk to customers again? wow, maybe his lack of customer service skills is the reason his mother has never wanted to hire him officially. or maybe, it’s just weird that levi is the customer. this isn’t usually the kind of setting they meet in, after all. “is that all you need?”
“you’re helping me, a customer,” levi’s quick to point that one out. what does nate mean, he doesn’t work here? alright, so he’s not being paid as far as levi knows,, but nate’s still helping around the store, isn’t he? clearly he couldn’t have known the next person in the store was going to be levi, so that means he’s nate’s customer. yeah, solid logic. levi’s not sure why it even matters at this point, but whatever. they bicker about nonsense all the time, so.
no special treatment? boo. “damn, knew i should’ve brought callie.” yeah, he’s teasing, but it’s not a lie to say nate’s got a soft spot for her, so she probably would have received a lil’ something extra. he answers nate’s look (glare) with a mock-innocent smile, obviously intent to be the most annoying customer nate’s going to have to deal with today. because why not? It’s not like levi’s got any other plans. dahlia can wait.
is that all you need? “probably,” he can’t be bothered to double check. he’s alright with potions, not quite the ‘master’ his sister is, but it all looks like it should be right. “that was quick,” he’s commenting on the amount of time it took nate to pick out the ingredients, but the grin on his face suggests something else entirely. “quicker than expected, i mean. kind of like last night, when you came—”
his gaze suddenly shifts to something else behind nate, and that playful look in his eyes immediately disappears, replaced with something more kind — he even straightens his back, making sure he’s not leaning on the counter anymore. “hi, mrs. moon.” oops.
msuxhaeun·:
be there.
it was unfortunate that haeun was in the same house of her torment her. there was never a moment of reprieve. at events, during meal times or even when she just wants to relax in the common room: elodie is there. the house that she had been so excited to be a part of had become a place of torment for her. she doesn’t know when it’ll end.
even as cheer practise ends, haeun is as far from the others as she could be without it looking weird. she keeps glancing to check where elodie goes. hopefully she’s distracted by eloise enough today that she doesn’t even bother to glance haeun’s way. she doesn’t untense until she’s convinced that elodie was going to walk away.
with her back turned towards everyone else, haeun takes the time to pack her dufflebag. if she waited long enough then maybe elodie would busy herself and she could sneak into her dorm undetected. the risk was that elodie could just as easily turn back to corner her once she realises haeun is alone. she was vulnerable now that she had no one to walk her back from practise.
the hairs on the back of her neck rose. someone was behind her. her stomach dropped immediately. when the hand touched her she jumped and tumbled onto her hands in knees. yet when she turns she doesn’t see elodie. it’s just levi.
“oh my…. levi! i thought you were—” she cuts herself off, shaking her head. she doesn’t want to talk about elodie. about what she does. haeun put her hand over her hammering heart in attempts to will it to slow. “you scared the daylights out of me, geez.”
@msulevi
for once, levi had ended quidditch practice early. it’s a rare occurrence, but the team’s been performing exceptionally — they deserve a bit of a break, especially with exams coming up. perfect timing too, because as he dismounts his broom and looks across the field, he realizes practice for the cheerleaders ended too. he’d been trying to find the right time and place to approach a certain someone, but then realized no amount of waiting for that to happen would fix the situation between them, so he should just bite the bullet and go for it.
unfortunately, he hadn’t exactly expected her to fall over, too surprised by the (extremely) startled reaction that even his quick reflexes hadn’t been able to save that one.
extending a hand to help her up, levi’s head tips sideways, obviously confused. “thought i was… who?” he’s looking around them now, as if trying to find whoever haeun thought he’d been. hm. “i, uh, just wanted to see how you’re doing...” he starts, trying to thread lightly with what he’s about to say. “y’know, since—” ‘since we haven’t talked since i rejected you,’ oops. what was that about choosing his words carefully? ah, right. “since… it’s been a while.” vague, but better.
but whatever their situation is right now, it doesn’t seem quite as pressing anymore. her rather terrified reaction to him simply tapping her shoulder took the cake. “you look like you’ve seen a ghost,” there’s a pause before he clarifies, “y’know, one that’s not running around in the castle.” that muggle expression doesn’t make much sense when they’ve got actual ghosts here, but levi’s sure she knows what he meant. “what’s got you so spooked?” or better yet — who?

swordless
backtracked to sept 2020 first day of dueling club
the whole fiasco of the dueling club and being partnered up with someone much more senior than her had riled her up enough that she had done everything within her might to take him down. and it had worked, mostly. in the end, she had managed to disarm him whilst sitting on him and honestly?
the tension between the two of them had been palpable. chaeyeon is still unsure of what had really gone down between the two of them because it had all been a blur, mostly.
there had been a single moment when she had looked into @msulevi‘s eyes and felt a tug, though she would chalk that off to the audience they had had in that moment. she had managed to gain the upper hand on an upperclassman and for that? she would say that today’s dueling club meeting had absolutely been a success.
also it helped that said upperclassman was hot. a good distraction, if you will.
so when the group is let out afterwards, she has half a mind to see if she could find him to talk to him. or something. even if he was taken, she didn’t think it would hurt to make a … friend. of sorts. she could always use someone to bump egos with in dueling, because honestly? she had had a great time today. now she just had to find him.
it’s not that he’d been purposely looking for her after, but levi can’t deny he’d hung around a little bit longer for a chance to talk to her. 'her' being song chaeyeon, as the sign up list had informed him. mostly because he’d forgotten her name the second their club president had announced he’d be dueling, too pumped to retain any information that he deemed unnecessary to remember.
well. he definitely wouldn’t forget it after this.
when levi spots her, he grins. “hey, it’s black widow.” that reference would go right over her head if she hadn’t heard of that marvel character — or maybe she’d think he’s likening her to the spider who eats its own mate. not much of a difference, considering she’d floored him towards the end there. that’d been a surprise, but not one that had him complaining. in fact, it’d made for an interesting first meeting of the dueling club this year.
there’d been… something there when she’d knocked him on his ass and put her wand under his chin, forcing him to concede with that look of defiance in her eyes. the kind of tension that he would’ve already tried to explore under different circumstances. but — he’s a senior and chaeyeon is a freshman. he doesn’t want to go there, and he shouldn’t, considering their difference in seniority. right. that doesn’t mean they can’t be friends… right? sure.
“i confess, i underestimated you,” he has no qualms about admitting that. he had taken it easier on her because he figured a freshman wouldn’t immediately know everyone’s style of dueling here like he did. the second he realized this clearly didn’t even matter to her, she’d already been given an advantage. “i’ll make sure not to do that next time.”
Day Night with KAI ✧ 1stLook Behind
with @msucallie on the quidditch pitch
it’s only a day — correction: about twelve hours, give or take — before the next quidditch match, and levi’s kind of anxious. of course he is, after that horrendous match last game. he can’t afford another screw up like that. and what does levi do when he’s troubled? no, it’s not beating the crap out of a punching bag, because that’s reserved for his anger. when he’s unsettled, he takes refuge on the quidditch pitch. usually it’s to fly around, but this time, though, he’s not on his broom. instead, he’s lying down right in the middle of the pitch, staring up at the night sky. he’s pretty sure they’re not supposed to be out here anymore at this hour, but that’s about the last thing on his mind right now.
they, because it’d only taken callie about fifteen minutes before she’d found him here, after he hadn’t responded to a text she’d sent earlier. ‘missed me too much, did you?’ he’d greeted her the minute she’d come into view, but after promising her that he’s fine and telling her that she shouldn’t worry so much or else she’ll get even more of those premature wrinkles, he’d pulled her down with him. one transfigured scarf later, they’d wrapped themselves up in a blanket. he doesn’t know how long they’ve been here, but that’s okay.
“what d’you think—” he starts, after levi deems it necessary to break the comfortable silence between them. it’s said in a way that makes it obvious he’s about to spew something ridiculous, but there’s a pause as he stretches noisily, trying his best to smother a yawn but failing miserably. his back kind of hurts. snug blanket or not, the ground’s not as cosy anymore after that first hour of lying here. despite that, he doesn’t make any attempt to get up, instead letting his arm drape back around callie’s shoulders before repeating: “what do you think the moon rabbit’s makin’ in his mortar right now?” ah, there it is.
msucallie:

end of the day.
watching the matrix with @msucallie and @msulevi.
...
“i think they’re in some sort of simulation?” she offers as she picks at the popcorn sitting on her lap before passing it over to levi who was sitting across from her with nate. “the matrix is the simulation and everyone living inside it are actually trapped. i think — what his name — neo, yeah. he has to stop the matrix from the inside out to free everyone from this fake virtual world, right?”
after that devastating upset — merlin, he doesn’t even want to think about it anymore — it had come to no surprise to levi to find callie at his door after her own match, waiting to cheer him up. he’d already kind of expected her to come over, considering she always had some sort of sixth sense when it came to knowing the exact time to show up and make his day. the real surprise had been nate, who’d tagged along too. but even that hadn’t exactly caught him off guard as they’d been… hanging out. a lot. “we friends now?” he’d teased when closing the door behind them, because yeah, at this point they were, but the grin on his face had been half-hearted, and the both of them had noticed.
he can’t remember how they’d ended up on the couch, with him resting in-between them somehow. he feels nate’s chest against his back, and levi’s leaning most of his weight on him. he’s got callie’s legs sprawled in his lap, his thumb subconsciously drawing circles over her knee. it’s a flurry of limbs, arms and legs everywhere — and levi feels more at ease than he has all day. that might be because they’re also watching the matrix, though. “pay attention,” he purposely digs an elbow into nate’s thigh. “you’re not focused, that’s why you’re confused.” there’s nothing about this movie that’s hard, if you asked him.
“neo woke up in the real world, for the first time. that’s why he’s in that tank,” he nods towards the screen, where neo — now bald like a newborn baby — tries to escape the wires that are stuck inside of him. at least callie’s been paying attention, and levi digs into the popcorn she’s sharing, talking around the pieces in his mouth. “it’s a dystopian future,” maybe he’s more into this than he should be, but this is his favorite movie. “and yeah, humanity’s unknowingly trapped inside a simulated reality. the machines have been using humans as energy sources. but the movie tells you that! watch.”
msuahri:
— punching bag ,
@msulevi
ahri was more than excited and happy with soseong’s first win in the quidditch season. she vibrated as much if not more than her housemates and suffered as much if not more than them until their seeker finally got the snitch. it was an exciting game with an even more exciting result— well, for the soseong house anyway, she isn’t quite sure how geumseong is feeling so positively about it. so the problem that she’s facing isn’t related to that quidditch game in particular, but the one that happened before it.
unfortunately, ahri wasn’t on time to get to see the whole game, missed a little of the beginning of the game. but well, considering how the game went, missing the beginning of it also meant missing most of it. toseong clearly decided that they were going to honor the stereotype of their house of excelling in everything in that game considering how fast hwaseong was defeated, how fast the seeker managed to get the snitch. it was definitely… amazing, ahri couldn’t really deny them that sort of compliment. ahri couldn’t really not congratulate them but at the same time—
she knows a certain hwaseong seeker who is dwelilng over his defeat in a not very healthy way and as his friend and boxing partner, ahri doesn’t feel right in indulging so much in her commemoration for her house when she can’t have levi bragging about his own victory and then probably having a victory spar or something like that.
that’s why she shows up in the boxing room, a box of friend chicken and a pot of ice cream, because that’s what she eats when she’s sad and of course she eats when she’s sad. what else is there to do to cheer one up? it seems like a fool proof plan. “hey, you booger.” ahri greets levi, not surprised to see how he’s mistreating the poor punching bag. “i brought food. come eat with me.” she already makes herself comfortable in one of the few benches in the boxing club, tapping the spot next to her. “come on. or the ice cream will melt.” which is a lie because she did charm the ice cream to keep it nice and cold, but levi didn’t know that.
levi doesn’t know how long he’s already been here, taking out his anger on a punching bag. too long, probably, considering the anger’s left him by now and he’s simply hitting out of pure frustration. despite the gloves he has on, his knuckles hurt. it’s nothing compared to the hurt and disbelief he’d felt losing that quidditch match, however. it’d been bizarre, like waking up from a bad dream. except it hadn’t been a nightmare, it’d been reality: hwaseong had lost their first quidditch match of the season. fuck.
so of course he’s here, in the gym. that’s where he always is when something goes wrong and he needs to punch it out. boxing’s like a form of anger management, the therapy he needs whenever shit doesn’t go his way. ahri’s familiar voice suddenly floats into the room, and that’s when he abruptly stops hitting (destroying?) the bag because huh? he hadn’t heard anyone come in, and he genuinely hadn’t expected her to be here at this time. he definitely hadn’t expected her to come bring him all this comfort food either.
“i’m not hungry.” it’s not exactly a lie. he could eat, but he’s not famished enough to want to. but it’s obvious he’s just acting like a little kid, sulking miserably when all she’s doing is trying to cheer him up. as if realizing this, he sighs dramatically. “fine. can’t let the ice cream melt, i guess.” and now he’s talking as if he’s the one doing her a favor, as if eating the food she’d brought would be a kindness done for her. but he knows that she’ll indulge him; ahri’s one of the few people who’ll let him be a kid for a minute or two, but then she’ll snap him out of it. mostly by kicking his ass during a sparring match, but still.
he’s quick to reach for the fried chicken, because he’s a fan of all things greasy and oh, look at that, maybe he is hungry. “what’re you doing here, anyway?” he’s asking this in-between bites, as if he doesn’t already know. “i thought you’d be out celebrating suseong’s first win.” honestly, he just wants to hear that she’d come here to help lift his spirits. it’d be the ego boost that he so obviously needs: yes, they’ve become close enough friends that he is more important than a win, thank you very much.

a surprise visit by @msulevi at dalfin’s emporium of solutions.
delphine moon is nothing if not a stubborn woman. but, much to her dismay, her stubbornness is a trait that has been passed on to her children. which is why, despite the woman’s usual protests of ‘you already have a job’, or ‘you should focus on quidditch or your studies instead’, nate still insists on helping his mother out at her store. she runs it alone, after all, with only malia and a couple of other employees helping her out. the least he can do is help her out, even though she might not agree with his decision.
he’s in the storage room assisting his mother, during a particularly slow time of the day, when the bell on the door rings, signaling a new customer’s arrival. delphine, currently somewhat trapped behind numerous boxes, gives nate a look from where her head peeks out. if this was anyone else, they might have given him a pleading look, the look of someone about to ask a favor, but all the look on his mother’s face says is ‘you will do this for me, and you will do it now.’
“darling, would you please handle the newest customer for me?” he nods, though there’s also a grumble in response, something about how she should just admit she actually does need his help sometimes. which she hears, because of course she does, judging by her words as he leaves the room: “shush, now go do as you’re told.”
“i was going to, mo—” he yells back at her as he walks back towards the store, though his words are interrupted once he catches sight of the customer. “oh.” it’s levi. what? he doesn’t usually shop here, does he? at least not to nate’s knowledge. “hey,” he greets the younger, his momentary look of confusion making way for a smile instead.
“why are you here?” oh. right, he was sent her to help the customer, not question why he’s here. “do you need any help? my mom is, uh…” he gestures towards the back of the store, “busy. so you’re stuck with me.”
dahlia’s the worst. the wicked witch of the east. and west. and every other direction, because she’s everywhere. no matter when, no matter where, his sister somehow always knows where he is whenever she needs him to do her a favor. this time, it’s for a potion of hers, some sort of ingredient that they didn’t have back at the castle. so who does she send out to get it? levi, of course. because levi cannot say no to his sister, for whatever reason. he insists it’s because he can’t stand the pouty look on her face she gets whenever he tells her no, but it’s probably that feeling of duty, as her brother. she’d taken care of him when they were kids, he should do the same.
or whatever. he hates this. he’d wanted to stay in his dorms, think up a more effective training regime for his team, but noooo. he’s at dalfin's emporium of solutions now, waiting for anyone to help him. this is nate’s mother’s store, and though he hasn’t come here often, she’s always been incredibly nice to him and pleasant to chat with, so at least there’s that. but it’s not delphine whose head peeks out of what levi assumes to be the storage unit. speak of the devil…
“hey.” he snorts at the rather blunt question of why he’s there. “damn, nathaniel, are you always this friendly to your customers?” it’s obvious he’s not done yet, because of the grin on his face. “or you givin’ me the special treatment because we’re fucking?” it’s a good thing he’s the only one there in the store right now, or else that would’ve raised a few eyebrows into their direction. but levi obviously doesn’t care, because it’s not like he’s told a lie.
but he’s there for a reason, and flustering nate isn’t it. though that’s an added bonus. “my sister needs some ingredients for some potion she’s brewing. goosegrass and, uh, whatever’s on this list.” he digs around in his pocket for it, handing the crushed up note over to nate with an innocent smile that suggests that yes, he did crumple that paper on purpose and no, he’s not going to smoothen it out for him.

nahyun was furious. levi and her were definitely what one would describe as bickering siblings. she’d die for him and murder anyone who dared to harm him but right about now, she was the one wanting to see him at least suffer somehow.
being part of the dueling club, she knew that there were those in higher semesters that had more skill than her but did it have to be such a brutal defeat for her?
bruised in her pride and crushed in her dignity, she stomps up to him after the club meeting, fume almost visibly coming out of her ears as she continued to cuss away in french beneath her breath.
“yah! did you have to go that hard?! shouldn’t it be forbidden to use spells I can’t know yet as a freshman?!”
honestly, he should’ve expected her to come straight to him after the club meeting, because levi hadn’t exactly played by the rules. okay, so it’s an unspoken rule, but still a rule: take it easy on the freshmen. but that, simply, is not in his nature. besides, nahyun’s tough: he knows she can take it.
“oui oui baguette?” he offers feebly, waiting for her to be done with what he’s guessing to be a string of insults.
ah, these french girls. they’ll most likely be the death of him, considering she could be threatening to murder him right now and he’d have no idea. kind of sounds like it, to be honest, by the way she’s going off. maybe she’s spitting bars at him, challenging him to a rap battle— nope, doubtful. he’s at least grateful nahyun’s talking in a language he knows when she yells at him, though.
“that’s not my fault, i learned that hex when i was seventeen! what were they teaching you in school?” because obviously it’s not dueling spells.

— a pumpkin for a bimpkin
the brain of a….. “ mhmm.. sure you do. ” jamie just politely hummed along as she often did when the boy got a little too into ‘ self-love ’ , nothing wrong with that , though ! knowing full well how sometimes his train of thought tended to derail , but that always meant interesting conversations and ones that always did make her laugh so , she didn’t mind. attention snapped back to her own pumpkin , jamie focused on carving it like her life depended on it , a tongue sticking out as she worked with a precision tool to get the outline a little more detailed. “ huh…? — oh !! yeah , me too. magic is… awesome. ” definitely didn’t know where that came from but she had to agree. there probably wasn’t a world jamie could imagine herself living in that didn’t have magic.
a little too lost in thought , the grad student didn’t notice how the other had pulled out his want , at least not until he started stabbing his poor pumpkin. “ levi.. levi…you’re gonna get hurt —- and you just said how you love magic but yet you’re not…. ” siiiihgghhh. it was honestly hard not to laugh while she placed a hand over his to try and lower it away from the artwork before attention was brought back to hers. “ jieun… she doesn’t make weird faces , they’re actually kinda cute…” she tilted her head and took another look , eyes shifting from the senior’s face to her pumpkins and not finding much similarity , to be honest. “ i don’t think —– LEVI !! ” a shocked expression as she smacked his arm at the statement. “ shut up. ” hopefully it was dark enough to not be able to spot the light red tint across her cheeks.
“they’re cute?” no, that can’t be right. his best friend’s a lot of things, but cute? that’s not one of them. jamie’s so horribly wrong. he’s also looking at the pumpkin, the one he’s now named ‘jieun’ because it honestly does look like her, mouth open and all. but he can definitely see the the dust of red across jamie’s face now, pointing at her with his wand that’s now covered in pumpkin. “you’re blushing! oooooh!” yeah, he’s like a little child when he’s had a bit to drink, apparently. he’s straight up cackling, clearly finding the entire thing way too amusing for his own good. he’d seen them that one time, sucking face at the hwaseong celebration party. clearly that’s not where it’d ended. he can't wait to tease jieun about that one.
“ow! don’t hit me. jamie, jamie, be honest with me—” and he’s holding out his pinky now, expecting her to hook hers through it. “captain’s honor. no, captain’s honesty.” and his voice drops to a whisper, as if they’re conspiring. as if he's about to ask her the world's greatest secret known to man. “do you like jieun?”
