What would you recommend pre-op trans folk like myself do about which bathroom to use? I know it may seem irrelevant but I personally hate having to misgender myself every time I want to use the restroom.
Hey :) that’s totally not irrelevant and I know the struggle.
I would go with what you feel the most safe and comfortable with. You maybe also want to read up on the laws of your country for that situation, it can be good to know the laws on your side when somebody decides to argue with you.
Unisex bathrooms are probably the best option but of course they’re kind of rare.
If you’re struggling to decide which one to use I would ask yourself if you pass too much to still use the men’s room instead of asking yourself if you pass enough for the ladies room. I personally had more problems with using the mens room while not passing completely then with using the ladies room but of course experiences can be diffrent for everyone.
