Romeo + Juliet Pistols
In this 1996 adaptation of Shakespeare’s famous play, the setting takes place in the modern day, replacing the swords and daggers mentioned in the original text with pistol models, beautifully decorated and personalized for notable characters. Among gun art, the guns in Romeo + Juliet stand out as some of the better Hollywood examples.
Para Ordnance P-13
This is Romeo and Samson’s (a Capulet servant) main sidearm. Its also used by various backup characters. Only Romeo and Samson’s guns are detailed.
Romeo’s Para-Ordnance with brushed steel finish and gold-plated finish.
Samson’s gold Para-Ordnance. The magazine baseplate has the Capulet family crest etched into it and it also appears to be marble or something.
Taurus PT99
Most of the 9mm handguns used in the movie by various characters are Taurus PT99 pistols with a number of modifications to make them look “artsy”. In addition, the guns’ brand names are particular types of knives and swords, so that the filmmakers did not have to change the original dialog by Shakespeare.
Benlvio’s “Sword 9mm Series S”
The “Sword 9mm Series S” features an extended, gold-plated barrel, extended slide and golden detailing. It also has trinkets which hang from the lanyard hoop on the mainspring housing of the gun, which is a feature shared by many other pistols belonging to other characters. The grip looks like faux granite and has the Montague family crest etched into it.
Tybalt’s “Rapier 9mm Series R”
Tybalt’s pistols are the real star of the movie. They feature compensators, extended spring guides and extended, gold-plated barrels, with custom ‘Holy Mary’ grips. It also has the option of adding a C-More red dot.
Good shot of the grips.
Tybalt will often hold the gun as if it is an actual sword and fire the gun with his middle finger.

Mercutio’s “Dagger 9mm”
By far in a way one of the most impressive pistols ever to grace the silver screen, Mercutio carries a Taurus PT99 with transparent magazines, the grips removed, a compensator and a gold-plated barrel. It also features various frame and slide cut-outs revealing the inner workings of the gun.
