Mass Thread Drop
For a variety of reasons, the threads below the cut will not be moving to my new blog… If your thread with me is in there - and you’d really like to keep it (especially if you’ve been holding out for my return to reply) - let me know. Or if you wanna start a new thing, also let me know.
If moving house has taught me anything - it’s that moving is awful and no one should ever subject themselves to it willingly. With that in mind, I’ve been especially lax with my drafts recently because - I AM MOVING BLOGS!! And have been setting that up instead.
Y’all can catch me over here on my brand new multi-muse. It’s got all my muses from here and various other fandoms. I am gonna probably take a break until the weekend and then start following people and looking at which threads will get moved over and what will be dropped. HOPEFULLY, I’ll get the bulk of this sorted before I go on holiday on the 9th so I can spend my holiday writing up replies. If we have a thread and I do not get to you by the end of this month, please come to poke me.

While Anais was certainly an adult now - there could be no disputing that - the ability to make choices for herself - to make her own decisions - was still held firmly by her father. As her parent, her agent and her manager - everything needed to be run past him first.
And in some ways - hyperbolic as it might sound - it almost felt like the stars had aligned to allow her to be here. A post-movie-premiere-party was not exactly his scene and whereas the year before, he almost certainly would have refused to let her go alone - following the collapse caused by ‘exhaustion’ he was allowing her some limited freedom - a chance to have some fun, to blow off some steam. A little more carrot, a little less stick.
And the fact that the party was being held at the directors home didn’t hurt.
She can perceptibly feel whatever he’d given her to keep her sparkle going under the cameras starting to wear off (which is almost comforting - sitting still during the movie had been torturous) but the glass of champagne she’s snagged without his watchful eye to disapprove and the simple freedom of not being around him (even if, of course, she isn’t totally free range right now) is keeping her bubbly enough.
Winding her way through the people, careful to avoid one of her co-stars who had clearly had more than one glass of champagne and was currently holding court to a small crowd and would likely only impede her were she spotted - she headed upstairs - seeking the bathroom, emerging not long after.
It’s not exactly eerily quiet - the noise of the party is rising easily to fill the space above it - but the hallway, as she heads back does seem oddly empty - like everyone has grouped downstairs together for safety and she, a lone wanderer, is likely to get picked off by some wild beast, separated from the herd.
Have I done anything today? Anything at all - beyond lurking - anything productive? Well... No. Am I still going to bed? Yes.

An easier topic - one he is certainly an expert on - and one you could almost say he enjoyed.

He turns his head back to look at Leo when the other speaks up again and a playful smile slowly forms on his face, despite the previous shyness, crinkling the corner of his eyes a little. “Hm~ maybe or maybe not.”
Gently bumping his shoulder against Leo’s to signal that he isn’t being completely serious (or is he?). To give them both a change of topic and try to distract himself from his own thoughts he picks up their earlier conversation, “so… what are your plans for the weekend?”
It’s... Easier... To look at Jared again as they wade back into the shallows - back into the normal pace of their friendship. He shrugs at the question - his plans aren’t exactly grand. He’s got a small stash of Ice left from the last lot of money he managed to bleed out of his dad that’s been calling his name. He’s been trying to make it last. Carl’s been getting stingy ever since he got his little bitch bot... Which isn’t a surprise, exactly, he’s got something plastic and perfect to adore instead of his own flesh and blood, because, fuck family right?
But, that’s a paranoid spiral - and that’s not what we’re doing here Leo. Instead, what he’s doing is shrugging, and lying to his friend. He’s not sure why - surely Jared knows about his little habit - and why should he feel ashamed? Why should he hide it?
But he is, and he wants to. So instead of telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help him God - he says; “Oh... You know, just the usual... Probably chill out, maybe hit up a house party or something Saturday night, you know. What about you?”

He drops his arms as soon as Luca pulls away and pushes his hands into his pockets, posture relaxed as he takes in the other with a slightly concerned expression. “That’s good to hear.”
Courtney pauses for a moment before hesitantly asking, “would it be alright for you if I quickly scanned your system, just to make sure that everything is alright for now?” He didn’t want to stress Luca again thought, which was why he added, “it’s okay if you tell me no.”
He would really rather be a little bit more together before Courtney scanned him - while he’s no longer flooded with errors there are still several that have yet to resolve and... It’s almost embarrassing. As if openly sobbing into the man's chest a few short minutes before hadn’t been. But he nods wordlessly, all the same, hands hunting down the last remaining moisture on his cheeks.
It’s probably best to check, after all, just in case. “Sure.”

They were both lonely in their own way and while Alastair often didn’t know where he stood with Anais, he had the feeling that they could count on each other at least. She could definitely count on him and not just because she had pulled him out of that hellhole that had been his life.
As she leans into his touch, he stops patting her head and instead simple rests his hand gently on it, “you are strong. A lot stronger than most humans. Not everyone would be able to continue walking like you do.” And he would make sure that she would be able to continue to walk her path without any more interferences.
“Mmmm.” She hums quietly in response - it stops her outright contradicting him, at least. Because... A lot of the time... She doesn’t feel strong, she feels weak and stupid and terrified. But it’s important to remember - to try to keep at the forefront of her thinking - the knowledge that it isn’t true. A chemical imbalance in her brain is telling her its true (and that... It can be hard to drown that out.)
She’s made mistakes - plenty of them - and while it’s important to own her shit... There is blame to be apportioned elsewhere as well. And Al is right - there are countless others throughout history and even in her own life who have given up, given un and fallen by the wayside in some of the worst ways. She’s still going, she’s still trying - and it’s a fight. It’s always a fight. But it’s easier... It’s easier with him there to help.
“Speaking of which... I should probably get back to work.”

Luther rests his chin gently on top of Luca’s head when the other leans back into him. “Mhm… probably but who knows, maybe there will be someone after all. Or do you want to close for today?” There wasn’t much they could do that they hadn’t already done after all to clean the café/bakery up and such. Still, there was always the chance of a random person coming in after all.
Luca tilts his head in thought - just very slightly, because of course, Luther’s head is on top of his and he doesn’t want to displace it. “We might as well stay open... I’ve nothing else I want to do.” He had nothing else he needed to do. Unlike humans. Rain might drive away the casual wanderer - but they would still have jobs of their own to go to, appointments to attend to, errands to run - so if in passing they wanted a coffee or a cake, then when better than here? “Unless you want to?”
