This man haunts me
clumsyherbologist·:
“Maybe,” Neville figured, too, that making sure was probably the most likely case. But he still worried, of course he worried. Percival means so incredibly much to him, he’s his most important person and Neville isn’t quite sure he’d bother making it through without him if he ever loses him. So he can’t lose him.
“I wanted to be awake for when you woke up, just so you’d know you’re safe and not alone. I’ll rest later, I promise,” later can mean many things and honestly? Neville would prefer to wait until he’s got Percival at home where he knows he’ll be safe for real. Maybe he’s being a little overprotective, but can he really be blamed with his best friend in a hospital bed?
He really doesn’t like Neville reply to the question if he had rested. His expression makes his displeasure all too clear but instead of saying anything, he simply decides to take action. Carefully he manoeuvres himself on the bed so that there is more space next to him. It leaves him more exhausted than he had thought such a simple action should take but it’s not important right now.
Gently patting the free spot next to him, he says “Come on. Lie down.” His words may be gentle but at the same time it’s obvious that he won’t accept a ‘no’ as an answer.

ASK PROMPT. @storiesuntold· asked: “Think any of the pubs are still going to be open?” (from Marianne)
“ yer kiddin’ , righ’ ? s’nine in the evenin’ in whitechapel - ” they don’t mean to sound so … shocked , but the disbelief that a fellow rook would even question pub times was just too much ! maybe they can pass it off as excitement , energetic form already prancing down main street . “ you comin’ or what ? ”
Ah, she loves it when she can pull their leg like this. As if she hadn’t know the answer to her own question. It was just so funny to watch their reaction, every. damn. time.
Not bothering to hide her laughter, she easily falls in step with them. “I’m coming, I’m coming. Got any place in mind?”
Oh, that’s a… Hold still. That’s a lovely view!
ASSASSIN’S CREED (2007)
@clumsyherbologist asked: What’s something about the way your muse ‘helps’ that might be different from how someone else would help? What in particular about their style of ‘help’ is different/unusual? (for December)
He’ll probably seem very cold and distant when he helps someone. He won’t be good at emotionally helping/comforting someone since he isn’t very aligned with his own emotions yet either. He’ll approach whatever the problem is in a very... detached way, going at it from a logical point of few since that is what he is comfortable with.
LUPIN APPRECIATION WEEK | Day Three: Favorite Character - Assane Diop
"Why does she have to do this ALL THE TIME?!? We promised to look out for each other and yet she constantly heads out on her own and I never know where she went!" Hansel complained, leaning heavily on the table. He might have had a bit too much too drink but his words were surprisingly clear despite that. Yet, the next words, spoken softly, showed that maybe he was more drunk than one would think. "Doesn't she trust me?"
@clumsyherbologist (x):
Neville carefully pats his shoulder in sympathy, trying to nod at all the right moments. It's obvious that Hansel wants someone to listen and complain at and it's not like Neville is going to go out there and pass it on. Better him than some random stranger that would do just that, right?
Also he can kind of relate to having someone they care about going out and doing stupidly dangerous things without them, that's a common Gryffindor trait and he grew up surrounded by them.
"I think she does trust you, she probably just thinks she can manage on her own, y'know?"
“But we promised...how am I supposed to watch her back if she doesn’t even tell me where she’s going?” It felt like he was being left behind while Gretel ran further and further away from him. She was his whole world and he had thought it was the other way around too and yet...
A sigh escaped him as he buried his head in his arms. “I don’t know what to do...” She had always been the more free spirited one, the one that loved exploring and learning and it was something he loved dearly about his sister. He didn’t want her to change but he didn’t want to lose her either and it felt like he was losing her.
clumsyherbologist·:
Neville doesn’t mean to be cruel, nor does he mean to hurt his friend, but the more time passes, the less he wishes to feel, and the less he lets himself. He knows he will feel guilt for this, that he will hurt and suffer and wish he’d found another way. He knows, because it’s clear that Hatter isn’t going to give him what he’d asked for and Neville knows he can’t do it to himself.
He wishes he could hug him, but he knows better than to touch him like this, without clear permission. All he can do is talk to him, even if all he has is the deep emptiness inside to guide him.
It hurts.
“Someone needs to, but I’ll ask someone else,” he doesn’t really expect Hatter to hear him, but he thinks he’s supposed to say this anyway, so his friend knows he accepts his refusal.
Neville doesn’t want to end up hurting his friend.
His hands reach out and grab Neville faster than one can blink. He clings to the other’s arm with a desperation that screams louder than his earlier laughter. His grip must be painful but he is not in the right state of mind to be aware of that.
Blood runs down his face from where his own nails pierced the skin but he notices none of that. Wide, feverish eyes staring unwaveringly at Neville as he snaps out a loud “NO!”
No one would be allowed to kill Neville. He refused to let that happen - even if it was Neville’s wish. He would kill them before he would that happened. He didn’t care about those people. Only Neville mattered.
Blood and tears mixed as he tightened his hold on the other even more, seemingly not even aware as more words fell past his lips. “No! No! No! I won’t...! that can’t...!”
Flypaper(2011)
clumsyherbologist·:
He sits with him, looking at the sky, and thinks that however beautiful it is, it’ll never compare to the beauty of the kindness his friend shows him every time. Every little thing he wants to show him, every little thing he lets Neville show him in return. Neville think he’ll never have another friend just like him.
Still, he looks, of course he looks. How can he do anything but, when it’s something Jefferson wants him to see. And he does love the beauty in the sky, even if he’s usually looking down.
“Thank you for showing me.”
His usual wide grin soften slightly at his friend’s words. “Thanks for letting me show you.” Thanks for trusting me. Thanks for being my friend. Those last two aren’t spoken aloud but they are true non-the-less.
@clumsyherbologist asked: "It sounds like you’ve been an amazing friend” (Adam)
Adam didn’t reply verbally to that and simply gave the other a tiny smile and a shrug. He hoped that it was true, that he was a good friend but he would never just presume it to be so.
@clumsyherbologist asked: Would your muse use the word ‘brave’, about themselves? Should they? (for Adam McNair)
Adam himself would probably not use it. He may not badmouth himself (often), but he also isn’t the type to use overly positiv words about himself either since he doesn’t like to sound or be arrogant. However, if you were to ask people who know him, “brave” would definitely be a word they would use for him - alongside “kind”.
