"G'dday I'm John Ashleigh, Dunedin Pastoral Co. We have an operation of roughly around 4,000 hectares across three different properties.
We mainly focus on irrigated cropping and broadacre dryland winter cropping. Our irrigated summer cropping program consists of cotton and seed corn. Our winter cropping is your basics: canola, wheat, faba beans and chickpeas.
There are a couple of different things that went into us looking at the HORSCH sprayer.
First and foremost was the 6,000-litre tank. Upgrading from a 4,000-litre to a 6,000-litre tank enabled us to increase our efficiencies, running big square paddocks with only minimal fill-up points, spending less time travelling to those fill-up points.
The other thing was probably the active boom height control. That's a big win for us. Like I said before, with our irrigated cotton ground in our gilgai country, being able to hit weeds accurately and reduce and minimise boom impact on the ground.
We struggled with that before, and having this pretty well able to walk through gilgais and follow the ground at your set height the whole way through just gives us confidence that we know we're doing a good job." John Ashleigh, Dunedin Pastoral Co
