Okay so during that qna I got this question and I've been thinking on it for awhile, like it genuinely got me curious, why shuichi specifically, so i did some- somewhat research, not actual research but there was a thought process and I just wanna share what I had for why people, myself included, see shuichi as a good yandere, I think mostly myself actually-
Also this isn't specifically referring to my exe of shuichi.x but just shuichi yandere as a whole, kind of
[also warning, been awhile since I've seen the games, so stuff may be lil iffy, and is kinda coming from my own interpretation on stuff, but I'll try to stick to as original as I believe it may be, sorry if there's a few fuck ups here n there]
So for one, Shuichi's general character, being more quiet and shy, that's usually the type of person to be a yandere, plus to me he feels like the type of person that holds in some emotions to himself, that would build up over time, eventually leading to an outburst of sorts.
And if I remember correctly, part of shuichi's lore is that he isn't a fan of being the ultimate detective because of all the hateful looks he'd get, there's probably more, but for this specific part, I'll be focusing on that part specifically. In V3 at the end of the first trial where kaede is found out, if I recall, she wasn't angry, or driven mad, or hated shuichi for catching her, instead being encouraging, telling him to find the mastermind and end the games once and for all, with that in mind, it'd be easy to assume that before hand in the first chapter before all of this, or just in a more normal situation and not a killing game, the way kaede would look and shuichi would make him feel different, perhaps looking at him with more care, no hate, or like he's just another person, but just looking at him like he means something, and like I said before with his lore, he doesn't like the hateful glares, so having someone actually stare at him with care instead, it'd most likely make him feel some sort of way, a good way, a feeling he may want to feel all the time, one he may one to, cling on to perhaps.
Also for something quick, just something that popped into my head when thinking on this, but there's also the simple fact of Male Yandere's not being that common, so there's that.
Anyways, another thing, going back on shuichi's general character, but- with kaede now, Yes Kaede definitely has the determination and willpower to be a yandere, but I do feel, depending on what it is, she'd be more honest and straight forward-ish about it, like if she were to like shuichi, crushy crush, I doubt she'd say it upfront, but she'd definitely give alot of signals, signs, and other stuff like that, but for shuichi, I doubt he'd have that kind of confidence, and would keep how he feels to himself, but would absolutely try to show how he feels via actions, not as in physical affection, hugs n stuff, that's more for kaede, I mean shuichi would just do alot of stuff for her, help carry stuff for her, holding doors, bring stuff for her, all those sorts of things, and possibly even taking a life.
Also shuichi to me just generally feels like he would be the jealous type, even in a non yandere sense, not like, extremely jealous where he gets mad when kaede's near someone else, but the kind where he'll possibly get subconscious, believing he isn't good enough to be with kaede. Actually with that mindset, kinda leans into how I make my versions of yandere shuichi, he isn't a yandere that thinks the person their obsessed with belongs to them, or- however it works, but his yandere is more of the opposite in a way, he wants to belong to kaede basically, work hard to show he cares for her. but I do still dip the normal kinda yandere into the mix, but with some reason behind it, like he would get jealous of others trying to make a move on kaede, cause he's working for her affection, and they ain't doin shit, and back with the eyes thing, on how kaede looks at shuichi, the way she looks at him could make shuichi believe she actually loves him back, which may lead to some paranoia, in others taking her away.
Which that's another thing, I feel on occasion, shuichi can be kinda clingy, if someone shows they genuinely care about him and what he thinks, such as kaede, he may not be clingy in the physical sense- [except when they get into a relationship, I bring that up cuz i have various headcanons that involve a clingy shuichi, that are both ether funny or adorable, but that isn't the point here, just wanted to bring it up] but he's definitely clingy mentally, with a constant need to stand closer to kaede cuz she makes him feel better.
Also just a random thing, still on topic, but when it comes to this, kaede is genuinely the only person I can see shuichi falling madly in love with to these degrees, literally any other pairing?- i just don't see it, maybe a normal couple yes, but- nothing to special, Shuichi would absolutely break up with kokichi first week into the relationship cuz he was sick of his shit and no one can convince me other wise, ...Ok Mb calm yourself down, don't wanna go on a saiouma Hate rant again. Back to business.
Ok so general round up/conclusion of what I'm saying here [I had some other stuff in mind to say here but brain forgot- I'll try n say en whenever I remember], Shuichi makes a good yandere based cause of his design, parts of his personality, and his lore, it doesn't make him an extreme canonical yandere no, but I can definitely see it fitting him as a character if they went about him differently. And for kaede, she definitely has a drive to he a good yandere but her personality is what holds her back, not saying she would be a bad yandere, she'd be a decent one, but shuichi just has more to build up on I think. Also male yandere's ain't common blah blah blah, and also his design, his design could fit the obsessive yandere type too.
Also Shuichi's hot, ...idk why I'm saying this but it may be a factor yknow o3o
So that's my general somewhat Analysis of this, it's probably not a good one, but it was a general fun thing to think on, thanks again to the anon that sent that question previously, and if you want, lemme know yours thoughts and or opinions on this, and if any of them are of Saiouma being better I will stab you, well- not really, as much as I hate it- ALOT- I ain't gonna [verbally] attack someone over it, unless they start it, then it's war .w.
