It worked okay. Not really happy about the wide angle on the camera, looking into putting a cheap wide angle adapter on it. Or a longer pole. Season is almost over so I'll have plenty of time to experiment.

Finally got around to make myself a pole mount for my ContourHD.

Parts for my poor mans pole mount:

Contour adapter for tripods Cheap plastic mini tripod M8 nuts and bolts Broken ski pole found under a chairlift Drill a hole in tripod, fasten bolt in pole (I had to use some strong epoxy) and cut off head, and mount tripod to pole. Works like a charm!
