A sigh slipped from tiers, blowing steam rising from a hot chocolate mug. A gentle sip came, but no sound. Everything was muted to his -- well her, then again his -- I should stop thinking. -- ears; headphones blasting.

Just a little bit more; people would tell her --- him -- whatever. Thirteen or so years of pretending to be the deceased heiress was hard. He was a boy, not a girl; and yet here he was pretending to be a woman.

His deceased sister had reminded their father of their mother; as well as made him happy -- considering their mother was dead. Sighing, blond locks slumped onto the table with his head; a headache forming from thinking too much. ‘Let me go already...’

“How are you?” A simple question. Her head tilted slightly to the side; awaiting a response -- verbal, or otherwise. But she’d give her time.

Absurd.  Foolish.  He simply did that for his own gain!  He didn’t care about the rest of that little group.  He simply wanted to get closer and get a more advantageous opportunity to obtain the Queen’s code, and he would be gone just like that.

…But then…why did it hurt to acknowledge that?

Glowing eyes closed in thought.  He rarely felt guilty for any of his actions.  He did what he did to get this far out of his own gain.  A bargain with those he ‘helped’ as much as he did–Echo, Allegro, Lento, he only aided them to advance his own goals.  He didn’t care about them.

So why did Chung care so much about him?

Why would anyone care about him?  He was a stranger in this era.  Three years compared to ten in his own and another six in that accursed library?  This wasn’t where he belonged…this wasn’t home.

And yet, the next words that came from his mouth were ones he couldn’t stop.  Words that he never thought would leave his lips did so in a whisper.

“…I’m sorry.”

The apology stopped his tears; fingers gripping his arm tightly. After a small shuffle of his feet; the white gloved hand gripped onto Add’s sleeve, eyes staring up with tearful determination at the young man.

“Come home. It may not be your previous home, but it’s better than nothing.”

Which was very, very true. Chung refused to let go; gripping his sleeve tightly in determination. “You are my comrade and friend. And even if you don’t think so, your heart is different. You’re not just a mad scientist, Add -- you’re fully human in emotion.”

After a moment; a soft whisper came from Chung, eyes still staring upward. “And, even if you say I’m lying, you can’t stand to be alone.”

whole again? there was no point. what he’d done, what every one of them had done.. there was no reason to try and reverse what they were now.  but he decides it would be fine to humor the brat until he gets bored and leaves. when esper speaks, his voice is nearly pleasant - eerily so, and calm.    ( i cannot be saved, don’t waste your breath )

     ❝ whatever you want, guardian.           let’s see… surely you’ve wished for something to change in your past?            well i went after it. and i don’t regret it, and i won’t return this power, so don’t bother. ❞

His words were met with silence. Chung only listened, before whispering the softest of words. “Explain more. I’m not asking you to return your power. Just -- explain it to me more. Why you wanted to change it. I’ll be here to listen.” Despite being a prince, and a mere child; he was probably the best listener. Save for Rena, of course.

“Telling me will help me help you.” Even if Esper believes he cannot be saved; Chung was that kind of guy to work tirelessly to help. That was his nature after all.

AN RPER CAN ROLEPLAY WITH MORE THAN ONE VERSION OF A MUSE IF THEY WANT. 

I have seen it happening a lot lately and I don’t know what the fuck’s gotten into you all, but a few friends have been getting shit or been made to feel like shit, whether intentional or unintentional, for roleplaying with more than one version of a muse.

And that is never okay.

Let me repeat: WHETHER IT IS INTENTIONAL OR NOT, IT IS NOT OKAY TO MAKE PEOPLE FEEL GUILTY OR FEEL LIKE SHIT FOR WANTING TO ROLEPLAY WITH MORE THAN ONE VERSION OF A MUSE.

Doesn’t matter if threads are similar—of course they’re going to be similar, they’re the same character, written by two different people. Which brings me to my next point. 

WRITTEN BY TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE. Threads may be similar but you bet your butt there’s gonna be a lot of differences. Maybe an rper wants to explore different angles of an idea, different aspects, and sometimes that can’t happen with just one version of a muse. 

And you know what? It’s perfectly okay for that to happen. NO TWO THREADS WILL EVER BE THE SAME BECAUSE MUSE B IS BEING WRITTEN BY TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE. 

If you’re one of those people that don’t like it when your rp partner roleplays with more than one version of a muse, then I’m sorry, but you’re just gonna have to deal with it. It’s not up to you, it’s their blog, and if you don’t like it, just don’t roleplay with them. 

Whether you mean to or not, guilt tripping someone for roleplaying with more than one version of a muse really fucking sucks. Just don’t do it. 

And another reminder; This is roleplay, not a job. Relax a bit, mate. Take it easy.

some people might not like that. ‘exclusive’ or ‘private’ blogs might just prefer one specific version of a muse.

you can’t just go and say all this without exploring that thought. if people are being made to feel like shit for roleplaying with more than one of the same muse, then that’s people being assholes and not a roleplayer as a whole problem.

the guilt tripping is a problem but it has nothing to do with who people prefer or what people prefer. even if it’s the reason; that’s still no reason to just. jump up like this.

while i personally roleplay with as many variations as i can, there ARE certain versions i prefer the most and will exclusively only roleplay with them. for example: my girlfriend’s sona.

while this may need to be finished with (guilt tripping and general roleplayer harassment), this really isn’t a point that needs to be said. it’s pretty much general thought.

i do appreciate, however, you bringing this to peoples’ concerns. this is more of a point on roleplayer to roleplayer harassment than a general understanding of roleplayers.

Comrade.

There was that word again, this time spoken by the boy before him instead of his own thoughts. How could Chung even call him that? There was no such thing as trust in his interactions with Elsword and his little troupe… He was an outcast, through and through.

And yet…why did he suddenly feel pain at those words? Why did his chest hurt as much as it did?

Realization stopped his thoughts quickly. He had wanted to help someone before, hadn’t he…? His mother…he’d wanted to save her, figure out how to return to his own time to stop her death. And here, to him, it had been nine years…nearly a decade, and he had yet to save her.

His next words were spoken somewhat quietly, an inquiry. "Why do you see me as your comrade, Chung…? Even after attacking your ally—" I attacked the Queen, how can you trust me after that "—and shoving you away…shoving all of you away…why do you still insist on trying to get closer?"

“Y-You still helped us when we needed it.” Sniffling, wiping tears from his trembling chin; the teen slowly got up, body lightly shaking with his own emotion. “You had apologised... Saved her, even... And even if you shoved us all away, you still had helped us...” More sniffles, another wave of tears threatening to spill over.

“And I care about my comrades. I care about them. I’m offering something I don’t have to because I give a damn.” A curse slipped from the pure paladin’s tiers; revealing just how deep his care went -- he never cursed unless he was completely serious.

“Come home, Add.”

“First things first, before I answer that... Talk to me.” Sliding down next to him, the blond awaited a breath before continuing. “Why did you want powers of time control? There’s a start. Once I understand why, I can help you. You may not think so, but you can be whole again. Everyone can be whole again.” Fingers threaded through silver hair delicately, before letting go. Blue eyes? Concerned.
