Hello hello! Here’s a pinned post, this is an independent, private, low activity and dash only rp blog for Sayu / Gen.shin Impact. Sideblog to @rebelliousties and activity is limited to mutuals. Heavily headcanon based unless Mihoyo releases more information.
Very brief rules and muse bio under the cut! Please do read before following, I promise they’re short (like Sayu-).
(This post may be edited in the future accordingly)
Currently not using icons, might change in the future.
Standard RP etiquette applies- no godmodding, no reblogging headcanons/threads that aren’t your own, etc.
Personals interacting with my posts will be blocked unless they are related to a RP blog to keep my activity tidy and avoid spam.
Sexual content is a hard block, same for incest, adult/minor shipping, etc. Romance will not happen either- Sayu is around 12 years old at most. Non sexual dark themes may happen, everything gets tagged accordingly.
This is a drama free zone. Anything petty and/or personal will be ignored.
Welcoming and sending unprompted asks here! Unprompted starters however depend on how close we are and what has already been discussed, otherwise they could go ignored.
Mun is turning 23 in a month and would prefer to stick to 18+ for mutuals.

Such an extraordinary skillset may have very unexpected uses.

Sayu isn’t human, but rather a mujina yokai in human form. She isn’t aware of this.
Despite the usual laziness the little ninja displayed a tad too proudly and shamelessly, Sayu did genuinely try her best when she was truly needed, wouldn't hesitate to prove the clan hadn't been wrong in taking her in and allowing her a home. Missions meant risk, meant danger, losing loved ones. She didn't like missions.
But... if taking a mission meant keeping them safe- then she could do it. She could try.
And try she did now- stumbling on her way back, the precious information she had been looking for clutched tightly in her hands and held close to her chest, refusing to let it go now, no matter the pain and spilled blood. She had to do this, she had to bring this back.
But her ninjutsu would only help so much. Sayu is still small, still frail and weak, the claymore she wields against the world only useful when her vision is aiding her. There is only so much she can do when it comes to confrontation- and not always luck is on her side to let her escape. Such was this mission, one too many opponents, one too many threats, too much for such a small kid, all alone. Even when she managed to escape, the damage had been done.
Even without knowing how much time had passed, how far she had come- Sayu had to rest, drag herself to the bushes and do her best to hide there, curling up on herself, tail draped limply around her, her doll a tad too battered and Sayu herself too tired to keep it up.
He blinked. A lot. He understood her words, but they sounded so alien to him, as if she was speaking another language entirely. The words made sense on their own, but together, in that order…
“What the f-” He had to bite down on his tongue, hard, to stop himself from swearing in front of the child. He’d never been good at being polite, a fact that had gotten him in a lot of trouble growing up, but even Neku didn’t want to swear in front of a little kid, if he could help it. He took a deep breath, an impatient hand brushing through orange locks in an attempt to compose himself before even trying to get to the bottom of this.
“You what?” There, that was a little better. “The hell were you doing just rolling around on the damn ground?” Okay, look. He’d tried. Just… not enough. He had his limits, after all.
“Ah...”
“I just...” oh, she couldn’t hold back that yawn, already rubbing her eye. “I just go very fast when I’m rolling... cuz my vision lets me do that, so I was doing that to run away. Before the shrine maidens found me. I didn’t wanna work today.”
She just says it all so casually, it’s like it makes perfect sense in her mind.
“So... where am I now...? I don’t usually leave the commission a lot... they say it’s dangerous or something...”
( Cyno ) ".... go to bed." He approaches the bundled child and proceeds to gently, yet steadily, roll her towards the nearest building with one foot. Occasionally, he uses his polearm to steer her. / @xveraciity
“Wah...” Apparently, mastering the escape arts to the point of being so ready to roll away as soon as she woke up wasn’t quite enough to help her... actually do that. Not by herself, at least. And there she is now, grumpily half awake, still very much asleep, being carefully rolled around. Her vision had been trying to keep her safe as she allowed herself another nap- but it seems that all it has achieved was turn her into a perfect little ball.
And off they go... the little ninja ball still making her little, sleepy, grouchy noises as she gets pushed away. If it’s an attempt at protesting or merely the bits of annoyance at being woken up, still trying to return to her slumber, it’s anyone’s guess.
So she’s… used to it? Still… that didn’t mean it was necessarily safe. Lips curve down in mild concern as he observes her carefully. It didn’t seem she needed any help coming down from the tree, at least, but he remains nearby just in case something happens.
At her words, he blinks and gives a small nod. “W-well… you can come to the camp nearby. I’m sure it won’t be a big deal.” If anyone gives him trouble… he’ll deal with it personally.
“Mmmmh... I guess that’s fine.” A ninja wasn’t exactly supposed to have so many people around and aware of their presence... but it was alright- if anything happened, she’d just disappear and roll away. Roll, roll, roll... ah, the thought alone had her growing tired once again, a yawn and a little stretch to follow. She could use returning to her little nap now.
“Is it too far away...? I’m tired... and I dunno when they’ll send me on another mission, so...” Sayu could use getting as much sleep in as she could now. “I don’t think I’ve seen a lot of soldiers around today, but still...”
// i will post a tiny starter call in a hot second but before that i want to put out two little headcanons relevant to Sayu’s portrayal-
Sayu isn’t just sleepy all the time. She has Type 2 narcolepsy, which results in her constant sleepiness, tired state and naps. It isn’t severe like Type 1, but it does affect her. She just doesn’t know and likes to use naps to slip out of ninja duty. She very much likes her naps, though.
And the bigger one:
Sayu isn’t human. She is a mujina in human form, a badger-like yokai with shapeshifting abilities. They are pretty much extinct and unheard of in present time Inazuma outside of old stories and rumors, which is why she keeps getting confused for a tanuki and a smaller part of why she dislikes tanuki (another part outside of the confusion is the little things scattered through Inazuma bothering her more than once, especially while asleep).
Sayu herself isn’t aware of this fact. She only remembers being taken in by her old teacher in the clan, which happened around the time where she was finally able to assume a human form. It is also why her existence is mostly kept a secret under the guise of her role as ninja of the clan, despite mostly everyone in there knowing ninjutsu as well.
Only people within the Shuumatsuban clan know this. For her own safety as one of the few last mujina still left out there, they don’t tell anyone about this or her origins. Anyone else being aware of this has to be plotted beforehand.
Due to being a yokai, Sayu is technically immortal. She ages at a much slower pace than humans, both mentally and physically, but hasn’t quite realized it, thinking she just hasn’t hit a growth spurt yet unlike her human peers. Despite being technically older, she is still by all means just a child in every way, especially by mujina standards. She can still be killed quite easily, however, as well as get sick and so on.
Sayu does still retain her mujina shapeshifting powers, but isn’t aware of them. She is currently unable to use them, either consciously or subconsciously. Only time will tell whether she’ll be able to use them.
❝ indeed , your diligence is most aspiring , sayu-chan . i suspect you deserve a reward . ❞
a humoured giggle escapes the embodiment of winter’s perfection and purity . it had taken the lady of the kamisato clan some time to locate the 𝐌𝐔𝐉𝐈𝐍𝐀 𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐉𝐀 after hearing of the fretfulness of one of the shrine maidens , but one helpful hint from her brother and ayaka found her straight away . truthfully , the girl’s penchant for slumbering away and the meaning behind the perceived indolence was not lost on the shirasagi himegimi . that said , any member of the yashiro commission must act prudently ; the 𝚂𝙷𝚄𝚄𝙼𝙰𝚃𝚂𝚄𝙱𝙰𝙽 is not exempt .
❝ won’t you please come down from there ? ❞ with a gesture of her folded fan , ayaka motions from below , where the shade of the inazuman cedar obscures the young woman from the sun . ❝ i have tea and snacks prepared at the estate . perhaps you might join me ? ❞
Well, truth to be told- Sayu did not quite want to get off just yet, not when the little spot she had picked was so perfect to keep dozing off well into the afternoon... but this was the Himegimi herself- even lazy little Sayu knew better than to disrespect her.
... Besides, the offer of snacks was much more tempting than she’d ever admit.
“... Ok.”
Taking her time, she stood on the branch holding her weight, carefully looking down, as if considering her options... and then she simply jumped. Her own swirl of anemo caught her close enough to the ground, letting her land on her feet more or less gracefully, light enough she could’ve gone unheard and unnoticed somewhere else, nodding to herself in approval of her own skills before finally looking up at the Himegimi, ears and leaf alike bouncing along.
“S-sorry… I just…” He’s staring up at her. “… you seem as though you’d fall out at any moment. Are… are you certain that is a good place to rest…?”
Oh, of course- it wouldn’t be the first time she’s heard such a concern, after all. And lazily rubbing her eyes in a poor attempt at pushing the sleepiness away, she slowly nods.
“Mh... I’m used to sleeping on trees and stuff like that... they’re good to hide when the shrine maidens realize I’m gone. And when I do go on missions and need to hide from the enemy...”
But for his peace of mind like many others before, Sayu will make the sacrifice, grabbing the branch she’s resting on to hang from it instead and make her way down- by simply dropping from it, free fall until she’d let her anemo vision safely put her down and on the ground with a gust of wind. And then she looked right back at Lio, tilting her head.
“... Was asleep...” A yawn, a long, lazy stretch, and Sayu was peeking down from her hiding spot among the branches of the tree, almost precariously balanced on it as it was. “Why did you wake me up...? It was such a good nap, too...”
He waits for her to stand up, squatting next to her. Even when she stands up though, he stays squatted. He gives her a big ole smile before looking down the road they’re standing on. “I say we race into the city! Get some Sushi! If you win, I’ll pay.” Was he going to hold back and let her win? Yeah! It wasn’t cool to let a child pay for his sushi. She was young, and fast, and sometimes he was competitive, but not against kids who he knew couldn’t possibly keep up with him, no matter how fast they were.
He stands up, tapping his foot against the ground before resting the tips of his fingers against the ground and keeping his emerald eyes locked forward. “Whenever yer ready~!” He sticks his tongue out at her, sort of like a blep though, more cat like.
Dizziness finally shaken off, Sayu tilted her head at the sudden offer, ears and tail bouncing along as if they were real and not mere fabric.
“... Promise?” A race did sound fun when most people could hardly even try to catch up to her rolling speed, but... she didn’t want to lose on the reward. And just in case, she checked her pockets for a moment- yes, she did have some mora, that could work.
“Ah- but we have to be careful... the shrine maidens are still looking for me.” But as long as they were fast, no one would notice her, right...? “I don’t know if they already handed my job over to someone else today...”
“Oh dear… come here- Let me see…” The doctor knelt down to her height, frowning and observing most of her injuries and scratches, completely ignoring his own before glancing up to her with a smile- it was the most he could do after she appeared out of nowhere to assist him.
“I assume you’re used to fighting these samurai, yes…~?”
A hum as he began to work on patching her up- “I should be thanking you for your assistance, I’m not too familiar with the land…~”
“Um... yeah, I think so. I see them a lot when I’m hiding...” the little ninja doesn’t really try to hold back a yawn, the fight already taking enough precious energy out of her, stretching for a moment- and wincing when new bruises and scrapes made themselves known. “-owow... but I’m still small, so...”
For once, she would behave and quietly sit down, try her best to stay awake as she accepted the help now. Even though she could really use a nap after a fight like that...
“It’s okay... the Shuumatsuban is here to help people. And this is easier than my usual duties...” They couldn’t get mad at her for slacking off if she was busy helping someone, right...? Though- she was told she wasn’t supposed to fight. Well, a bit late for that, anyways.
“Mh, Inazuma is dangerous when you’re alone. You have to be careful outside of the city...” She would know that well by now.
Sora had come across the strange looking thing while out for a walk, and was baffled as to what it could be. She hadn’t seen anything like it since arriving in Inazuma, and now approached it cautiously to give it a good sniff.
Wait a sec… it smells like there’s someone in there.
Were they stuck? Frowning, she reached out and batted at the strange doll with a paw, attempting to open it.
Oh- oh no. Oh no the weird cat was taking her precious daruma for a toy-
Stealth might no longer be an option... Sayu might have imbued it with anemo to hold her own in battle, but that didn’t mean she wanted her doll to be used as a scratch toy! And so a puff of smoke follows, letting the daruma vanish in it, the little ninja standing in its place, usual sleepiness replaced by a very clear pout.
“Hey- don’t go around playing with anything you find!”
// i know it’s literally just because of technical reasons but i still think it’s stupidly cute how in Sayu’s idle she’s crouched and hidden inside the daruma
“Nah! Watch!” He backs up a bit, standing fully before dashing for the hill and diving down, only too collapse himself into a cannon ball and spin downward down the hill. Not unlike her, only fully covered in a blue type of sharp quilly like material, thanks to his longer hair. It tears up the ground, but he makes it down the whole hill before springing from the ball and stopping himself by running up a tree and bouncing back toward the ground.
“Meet me down here! We can race!”
And she watches, peeking over the hill just as he asked. The only sign of awe as she watched him spring and bounce around was the slight way her eyes widened, just for a little moment. Maybe she could bounce instead of stop, too? But it wasn’t like there were other anemo users sharing her same ninjutsu that could show her how. Maybe it wasn’t worth the effort- she was tired just thinking of how to figure it out.
Well- now she’ll just go down there instead of thinking so much, standing at the top of the hill for a moment before jumping and curling up mid air, the anemo brimming from her vision doing the rest and- and there she went, rolling down the hill in the middle of her own miniature whirlwind, just barely managing to stop right before the burst of winds would hit the other.
“Mh... wha’...?” And there was the sudden wave of dizziness as she stood up and nearly fell over. Maybe one day she would get over it. Hopefully.
Here he was, just minding his own business, on a walk in an attempt to calm down, but no. Something always had to go wrong, didn’t it? He hadn’t seen the kid lying on the ground there, how could he? She was nearly curled up into a damn ball.
“…maybe people wouldn’t trip over you if you took naps literally anywhere else.” The annoyance was evidence in his voice as he rolled his eyes, awkwardly stepping around her.
“It’s not my fault... I just fell asleep here when I stopped rolling.” The grass was soft enough for it- how could she refuse to oh so tempting call of sleep?
Still grumbling, she slowly pushes herself up to at least sit on the dirt, still very much pouty. This wasn’t the sort of awakening she would’ve liked, even the maidens would’ve been nicer about it... ah, speaking of- she was busy getting away, wasn’t she?
And then Sayu finally looks around. She... isn’t too sure where ‘here’ is, actually, not after all the rolling she did to get away.
