Are you one of those who shouts these words whenever you see your bias on TV or in person? I know a lot of us are guilty.
I can still remember how I got into K-Pop, it all started with my sister. It was year 2008, summer, my sister downloaded some music videos of groups and told me to watch it. And so I did. One of those was Balloons by TVXQ. And at the end of the day I found myself listening to this on repeat.
Then I learned Hangul, again, because of my sister. She downloaded some files on the computer and I got curious with their alphabet. So I studied them. If my memory serves me right, it took me about a week to memorize their alphabet. That's the fastest time I learned a language I don't even speak and understand.
Boys over flowers became a big hit in the Philippines when it was televised. One of it's cast was Kim Hyun Jong who played Jihoo. He was a member of a group called SS501. I watched almost all of their TV shows, my favorite was Thank You For Waking Us Up. I listened to their song, or should I say downloaded! But Young Saeng had me with a smile. Who wouldn't?
2009 came and it changed everything. Sorry Sorry by Super Junior became a big hit. I guess they were the first K-Pop group that got introduced to the Philippine music (If I'm not mistaken). Their song was always on MYX's music charts. I mean who wouldn't love these dorks?! I can safely say I have found my bias group!
2012 with 12 members-Exo, awoooo! The wolves! Then Growl was released. I was so thankful to their stylist for having them wear stage outfits that has names on it. If not, I would have only recognized Sehun because of his rainbow hair during Wolf era! It took me a month to remember all of their names without looking at their nametags. Wu Yi Fan was my biased back then, that's why when he left the group I kinda left with him also. I still listen to their song from time to time though. But I can say my best era with them was in 2012. They had the best song during this year, I guess for me.
