This is not your typical #foodporn. A while ago I came home: tired, wet, stressed out. My shoes and pants are wet. My head and back is aching from today's activities. After the usual "mano po", Mama asked if I would like to sip a bowl of hot soup while I arrange my wet belongings and hanging them in a corner. While changing clothes I was not thinking of anything else but rants. "Sobrang nakakapagod tong araw na to, umulan pa..etc.". But then when I went to the dining table, I saw this. I saw a bowl of hot soup cooked perfectly by Papa and presented to me elegantly by Mama. Suddenly all of my exhaustion, all the rants - gone! And I was overwhelmed with love. Wala na akong nasabi. It felt like I was healed yet I am not sick. You see, it's the small things that have their biggest impact in our lives. Especially if your parents have done it out of their love for you. I know it's a lot of sentiment for just a bowl of soup. But for me, it's the best remedy I've had. It made me happy. It made me forget all the negativities of the world. It made me so grateful because I've realized that I am so blessed to be loved and taken care of by this two people, my lovely parents, and there's none like them. This bowl of hot soup will always remind me that no matter how strong the storm is that is in or will come into my life, I have two wonderful people who will always back me up and tell me that I always have a home to go to. A home where I've first learned the true essence of LOVE. A home where I can ask for hugs and kisses and be flooded by these. A home where GOD is. 👪❤
