BOOK OF FLYING WITH YOUR OWN WINGS
Well known success guru, Mumin Sekman’s widely read book, Unlimit Yourself, Passion, Limits and Success has been translated into English thus enabling the rest of the world to benefit from his work.
With more than one million copies of his books in print, Sekman tackles the mystery of success with remarkable results. He does a first-rate job in this comprehensive, yet simply presented, guide.
What are the secrets of success?
Many have researched and analyzed the characteristics, the convictions, and the customs of the successful from all walks of life but have buried their results in academic tomes.
Sekman has looked at the best and most important success results and presents his key findings in ways anyone can understand with the result that his advice applies to everyone.
“Are you content to be enslaved by your limits or do you want to break free?” is his big question.
His steps for success are simple, honest, without artifice. Everyone and anyone will benefit from his words and methods. “You can’t know if you can do something until you try to do it,” gives his reader a big push.
This book is not one of those magic pills everyone has been searching for. Sekman guides his readers on the journey of mastering the skills they need to achieve their personal and professional potential with a wealth of advice, examples, and quotes gleamed from myriad sources.
He moves seamlessly from mythology and folklore to the ideas of successful businessmen, innovators, statesmen and thinkers. His grasp of the philosophical underpinnings of success is formidable.
While maintaining an encouraging tone and a down-to-earth style, he details the impact and practical value of his ideas. The specific skills people need to make their potential for success explode into results are identified.
He states that failure is important because it teaches and establishes a gauge to measure the value of achievements. Then he shows his reader how to handle success when it comes and explains how one triumph doesn’t mean that the battle is won. One victory does not make a successful person. Success has to be sustained!
Sekman’s approach differs from most self help writers. Instead of featuring case studies of losers he presents success stories of heroes from mythology and folklore in a combination of both Eastern and Western wisdom.
He shows how others, sometimes well-intentioned and sometimes not, are a person’s biggest impediment to success. Learning how to handle these obstructers is perhaps the most important thing we can do for ourselves.
His key motto is “With you, without you, or in spite of you!”
He puts it like this:
“If I have a goal and need to collaborate with someone else, but he doesn’t agree, I declare unequivocally: “I have a goal. We can do this together and it will be our joint success, or I can do it without you. What’s more I can do this despite you. I will do this, with you, without you, or even in spite of you. You will soon see that I have reached my goal. Now make your choice; where will you be? On my side, opposed to me, or someplace else?”
Another very important point he makes pertains to how children should be allowed to learn skills, to flex their muscles of independence, and to make their own decisions. In this day and age of the helicopter parent his words are to be heeded.
The conversation between Achilles and his mother is very telling. The theme: Don’t stop your children out of love.
The only thing missing from his book is his own success story. He mentions many success stories but where is his own? How has he tried to achieve his goal of teaching others how to be successful? He tells us what he wanted to do but furnishes no details of how he went about it and makes no mention of the results of his endeavors. He tells us that failures are important. Hasn’t he had any? We might be able to learn from them.
If you read this book and don’t take its message to heart, you will only achieve a small part of your potential. If you read this book and make what Sekman shows you a vital part of your life, the sky will be your limit,
It’s your choice; stay a baby in the nest or fly high with your own wings.
The clear language and comprehensible ideas of this well written and brilliantly argued book make it a must-read.
In this important book, Sekman teaches his readers how to think in a way that will keep them ahead in these turbulent times and create exciting new opportunities and possibilities.
