Hi, thanks for checking out my blog! I’m Rex Murphy (it/she) and I’m an artist and comicker. I’m white, TME, I’m disabled and I’m in my thirties.

This is the blog I use as my main, for chatting to people and posting whatever I feel like. If you just want to see my work, check out @externalmemorycomic​ (comics) and @rexmurphyart (art). I post a lot about music and my music tag is “my’s music tag”.

Because I’m disabled and chronically ill, I rely on Patreon to make a living. The comic tier is €3 a month and I try to post around 20-31 pages a month when my health allows me to work. I had such a blast at Cph comics this year! Met some lovely people and sold a lot of zines, partied hardie with some great and inspiring people and cheered for my bestie @stjernfelt when she won “best comic” at the Ping awards. A truly wonderful weekend and I’m already plotting and planning and pants-shittingly excited for the next one.

food talk under the cut

it’s too early to say conclusively (I don’t want to jinx it I guess) but I did go on the aip, or at least the diet part, like the day before I started feeling better and have kept it up this whole time. It’s not crazy to think it could’ve contributed to how much my digestive issues have improved…

I hesitate to talk about food and diets because it’s a sensitive subject and there’s too much health advice going around already. But if you have issues with inflammation and/or autoimmune problems maybe look into the autoimmune protocol. From what I gather it has had a lot of positive impact for a lot of chronically ill people - I know my girlfriend does really good on it when she can keep it up and I’ve really been enjoying the food part.

anyway I didn’t want to find something that seems to be helping me without sharing it. If you look into it, make sure to check the guides of the people who actually develop it because they tend to add food rather than hold on to the older stricter versions, so it won’t be needlessly difficult. I can post links if anyone’s interested!

That said the diet part is restrictive and might be too expensive depending on what foods are available in your area. The other parts of the regimen are solid though

I’ve been able to walk briskly without pressing a hand to my gut to keep things steady in there. I’ve been able to jog for a few seconds and not feel the impact in my inner organs. I’ve been able to eat with only discomfort and not outright pain. God, I wish I could hold on to this! But I’m grateful to have it even if it doesn’t last.

I’ve been working 10-12 hrs a day to get ready for cph comics. I’m still somehow able to work like that and sleep right and not need more than 8 hrs of sleep. I’ve had an appetite and I’ve been able to handle what I eat. I’ve been able to eat and stay awake afterwards. My pain levels have been manageable with few pain pills, rest and massage.

I have no idea how all of this happened but I’m so happy. I know it won’t last but this last week? Two weeks? I’ve been so happy. I kind of wish I could share this feeling, this contrast, with people who aren’t sick for life. Do you guys understand how exciting it is to work reliably and do dishes and have a coffee with a friend and take a walk all in the same day??? To finish a task, any task, and look around and think “what’s next?” It’s crazy to me to think people live like this. For decades together.

I started overhauling my sketch-page :-D as is the nature of my website, it's a forever-WIP, but I think it looks cool so far hehe. I hope it's functional across platforms, but we'll see! my darling viewers! the time has come again for an opportunity to earn a favor point. can anyone find me the post/article/etc that's a link to like, a bunch of hardcore music that was on an mp3 player somewhere in africa? maybe in a landfill or dump? some of these details might be wrong because combinations and variations on them are not pulling anything up in searches for me. i remember it being one of those super popular posts that circulated all the time on here a while ago. go my psionic warriors and search!! thank you.
