please recognize that your chronically ill friends may not want to hang out because of embarrassing symptoms, and for the love of god do not force your friends to disclose the symptoms that are making them unable to hang out.
being in your twenties is literally so fucking inhumane. and during a pandemic. Oh my god
Person with a mullet wearing a muscle shirt in a garage: You might think these are some normal cowboy boots, they aināt. These are boot scooters. [Takes wheels out of dusty boots and stomps them on the ground] If you aināt bootināā¦You aināt scootinā. [wheels away and runs into a fridge]
Itās very important to know that when he runs into the fridge, the ceiling light turns on
My boot scootinā baby is driving me crazy

Some things ppl need to think about when caring for someone who is sick or disabled and canāt do things for themselves outside of āDo they have everything (supplies) they need?ā
- Are they clean? Do they need help bathing or showering?
- is their space clean and free from clutter and trash? Is their bedding clean?
- do they need help with preparing hot food? Or are they living on easy to eat snacks? When was the last time they had a vegetable? Protein?
- do they have pets that need care? When was the last time their dog was walked or their cats litter was cleaned?
- what setups can I leave for them to help then accomplish tasks they need to accomplish when Iām not here? Is the trash close to their bed? Are things they need within reach?
fun fact that many people do not know, princess tiana is real!
āauthors need to realise that when they write smut they are writing porn. romance with smut is porn. erotica is porn and queer authors, authors of color, will always be included in the sexualised, in the fetishised, by legislators. we need to collectively stand up against SESTAā
Visually impaired folks can go read on Twitter, but I must include the screencapped thread here as well.
You need to understand that yes, Romance is going to be hit hard, but this will also censor my science fiction as well.Ā ANY book with sex in it will be censored.

ā STOP SESTA / FOSTA
Ā Expands existing federal criminal law to target online platforms where users discuss sex work and related topics. Platform owners can be prosecuted under the expanded law even in cases where they didnāt know that people were using those platforms to engage in sex work, and even in situations where there is no indication of coerced sex trafficking of adults or minors.
Opens online platforms to new criminal and civil liability for hosting content about sex work at both the federal and state levels.
Changes the law RETROACTIVELY: an online platform can be prosecuted under federal and state law or held civilly liable for hosting content created before FOSTA passed. ā
ANY AUTHOR CAN BE TARGETED.
ANY WEBSITE CAN BE TARGETED.
ANY GENRE CAN BE TARGETED.
ANYONE CAN BE TARGETED.
THIS MUST BE STOPPED.

https://register.state.gov/contactus/contactusformĀ would be the contact form, and do feel free to mention the State Department is in charge of the Economic Prosperity and Trade Policies for international issues.
Press hard on the economic impact this will haveā¦because unfortunately, my government is currently run more by income & profit margins than anything resembling sane humanity, right now.
āHabitual bigots online are going to do their thing, and usually respond to pieces without even reading them.ā
On Tuesday, the Guardian published an interview with the American philosopher and gender theorist Judith Butler, which included a scathing critique of so-called āgender criticalā transphobes and trans exclusionary radical feminists (TERFs), who donāt believe trans women are women, and oppose the right of transgender people to exist in gendered spaces, such as a bathrooms.
āThe anti-gender ideology is one of the dominant strains of fascism in our times,ā Butler said. āSo the Terfs will not be part of the contemporary struggle against fascism, one that requires a coalition guided by struggles against racism, nationalism, xenophobia and carceral violence, one that is mindful of the high rates of femicide throughout the world, which include high rates of attacks on trans and genderqueer people.ā
Hours later, this section of the article, including a question from the interviewer Jules Gleeson and three paragraphs from Butler, were removed. The only explanation is a cryptic note at the end of the article, stating: āThis article was edited on 7 September 2021 to reflect developments which occurred after the interview took place.ā Screenshots of the deleted section of the interview have gone viral on Twitter.
According to Gleeson, who provided Motherboard with a written statement, the Guardianās editorial team, and in particular its team based in the UK, āfoldedā under pressure from readers who took issue with the article and decided to ācensorā Butler. The Guardian did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
āHabitual bigots online are going to do their thing, and usually respond to pieces without even reading them,ā Gleeson wrote in a statement sent to Motherboard. āWhatās been more unexpected was how quickly the publication folded. I was expecting the Guardian US to stand by me as a writer, and while I have received apologies from their side, this has been a draining and consuming episode that I didnāt expect.ā
Gleeson told Motherboard that Judith Butler has also emailed the Guardian about its decision to remove that section of the interview, but has not heard back.
Gleeson said she last heard from the Guardian last night, and that her editor said āthereās not much I can doā because a decision has already been made.Ā
āI have not encountered anything like this,ā Gleeson said of the Guardianās decision. āA few people Iāve spoken to, including at the Guardian US, said this is unprecedented.āĀ
in 2021 one of the most famous gender studies scholars alive got censored for saying transphobes are bad
#butler is also nonbinary so like#theyāre censoring a trans person talking about transphobia
Bad-faith discourse about queer media can best be summed up by Steven Universe airing the first-ever queer wedding in children's programming and everyone still calling it "bad representation" because they put the butch in a dress and the femme in a tux.
(Never mind that it was done so that censors couldn't rework the butch character into a man during localization, as had been happening to the character previously.)

This is getting traction again as cases surge. I want to repeat what Iāve said on Twitter: In the 4 months since Iāve posted this, none of my symptoms have improved. Iām nearing 2 years post-COVID with zero improvement, no answers, and little hope. Take this seriously.

@mortuarybeesā: #i think its deeply important for all of us to come to terms with the fact that its actually fine to be mildly inconvenienced
Some of us are old enough to remember when literally everything took about 4 weeks to ship.
My couch is arriving in 4 weeks and company gave us a $200 gift card in apology after telling us it would take 4 weeks when we bought the thing. I-this instant gratification is really doing something to us. I know I sound like a grumpy old woman but it is ok to wait for things if it means fellow human beings are treated fairly.
Y'all have you seen this????
Appreciate the fashion and please don't look in the notes unless it's to find people who you want to block.
