What's not to love about her vocals
Joe Hisaishi - Ashitaka no San
---
I can't believe I am using the word "aside". But aside from Joe Hisaishi's beautiful use of chords and his talent for composing heart-touching melodies, what I love the most about this recording is the children's choir.
They are like little angels of music.
And seriously, this piece. The ending half of the 8:31min video is of the audience applauding.
It's beautiful. 'Nuff said.
Charles Ives - Central Park in the Dark
---
Charles Ives was known as a composer before his time. For this piece, he sat in Central Park in the dark and composed this piece based on sounds he heard from all over Central Park (Because it's in a very busy area). Listen to it closely, you can hear some jazz pieces played.
It sounds really creepy though. But that's why I love it.
I sincerely think the best way to listen to this is to sit down on a hard chair, close your eyes and imagine.
Zoltan Kodaly - Dances of Marosszeki
---
I first listened to this piece during a music elective programme test which I did badly in (haha).
But it's so beautiful, you can really feel the wide open fields of Marosszeki from the piece. The birds singing and dancing in the air.
Astor Piazzolla mini-spree
I think I will stop with my Astor Piazzolla post spree. I just realised that I would be spamming my blog.
So from now on, I will post in queue.
I won't always post in a theme though but today was an Astor Piazzolla day for me and so I posted Piazzolla.
Love Piazzolla so much.
Astor Piazzolla - Libertango
---
Since I am already on a semi-Astor Piazzolla spree, might as well post Libertango. Oh maybe I will post Swingle Singer's version too!
Anyway, this is probably Piazzolla's most well-known tango.
Ugh this piece has so much FLAIR don't you think so?
Astor Piazzolla - Four Seasons (Compilation)
---
This is a different kind of dramatic from my previous. I feel that this compilation is my favourite compilation as it is strong but mellow at the same time.
You can really hear the contrast between the different parts overlapping each other like waves of the ocean, the strong rhythm, haunting melody.
I think it's beautiful.
Astor Piazzolla - Four Seasons (Autumn)
---
Autumn is my favourite of Piazzolla's Four Seasons and this has got to be my favourite rendition of Piazzolla's Autumn.
It's just so dramatic, don't you think?
Muse-ically is up!
Hello! Joyce here.
I love music and I really don't have anywhere else to share this with people.
So I created this blog.
Mostly going to post music that I listen to everyday ranging from classical to classical pop, metal, pop, jazz, etc. Everything.
Mostly because I studied music since like, forever. And my music friends are all either in the army or overseas studying. It's hard to keep old habits out so I HAVE TO SHARE WHAT I AM LISTENING TO.
Also, I will have some comments on each piece written. Sometimes I analyse the music, sometimes I just write what I feel or what the piece means to me. Feel free to delete the comments off when/if you are reblogging.
