Your manager laughs as you take the bag of food from him, taking off towards a corner, sitting down as you open the takeaway container. Digging out the utensils as you start eating, hearing some chatter around you, as your manager brings you your phone turning on a motoracing that you had been watching as you put an earbud in. Hearing the announcer say Yibo’s name a few times starting to fully pay attention, finishing half of the food you close the container and set it back in the bag. Picking up your phone leaning back against the wall as you continue watching the race getting completely absorbed in it, jumping when your manager taps on your shoulder, snapping your head up pausing the video. Locking your phone before handing it and your earbud to him, pulling yourself up walking back over to the bikes as Yibo comes out of his dressing room, your hairstylist and make-up artist following you finally coming to a stop as they start fixing your hair and makeup. Smiling slightly as you listen to the two quietly whisper about how handsome Yibo was, whispering to them, “He’s my neighbor and I never realized it.” They both look at you in shock one smacking your shoulder lightly in disbelief, both of them walk away after a few minutes the photographer has you shrug out of your jacket while Yibo hands his to you. Pulling it on continuing the shoot the last pose having the two of you standing in front of the bikes helmets in hand.
Both you and Yibo head back to your separate dressing rooms changing into the clothes you had come in, adjusting your boots and zipping up your jacket, stepping out of the changing room tightening the grip on your helmet. Walking over to your bike as Yibo comes out of his dressing room watching you as he fixes his clothing kicking the kickstand up as you put the key in the ignition and turning it on shifting your bike into neutral, looking over at Yibo, waving at him saying, “See you back at the apartment building.” He laughs nodding his head saying as he walks towards you, “Let me push your bike out for you since you did all the climbing on the bikes.” Laughing a little letting him take the handlebars from you, walking side by side with him explaining to him why you moved to Beijing finally getting outside he stands in front of the bike holding it upright while you get on making sure your situated and comfortable taking over the handlebars from him. Thanking him once again for a comfortable photoshoot and helping you take your bike outside, he nods slightly with a smile on his face, pulling your helmet on as you buckle it Yibo reaches his hand out shutting the visor as you start your bike and he finally steps away. Turning your music on before pulling out of the parking lot feeling Yibo’s eyes on you, thankful your schedule was free for the rest of the day finding the nearest scenic area parking your bike out of the way taking your helmet off as you put the kickstand down. Yibo had called a few of his previous cast members, wanting you to meet a few more people, your manager had told him what you do in your down time so finding you wasn’t too hard.
Thankfully you had chosen a less popular place, you had set your bag by your feet, carefully resting your helmet on top of your bag. Unzipping your jacket as you lean against the bridge, hearing a car door open and close, letting out a breath taking in every inch of the scenery around you not hearing anyone walk up behind you. Someone sets their hand on your shoulder, screaming and jumping a bit hearing a familiar laugh as you swiftly turn around grabbing Yibo’s shirt by the shoulder saying shakily, “Are you nuts? You’re lucky I didn’t have my helmet in my hand!” He pats your shoulder laughing still as the few people he brought wave at you, giving him an exasperated stare as you let go of his shirt quietly greeting them. There was Yu Shi, Liu Haikuan, Zhang Yixing, and Jackson Wang, slightly bowing to all of them as Jackson says, “Yibo here wanted to make sure you had more people to rely on than just him.” Laughing as you thank each of them not feeling Yibo slide your phone out of your hand seeing as it was unlocked quickly texting himself from your phone, he holds it up letting your take it back. Yibo grabs your bag and helmet throwing your bag over his shoulder as they all walk around the area with you, each one had taken turns slightly moving you, ensuring you never ran into anything while you looked around. Listening to the group of men talk amongst each other none realizing you decided to continue to walk away finding a bridge to overlook the river, leaning against it closing your eyes, hearing only one set of footsteps coming up behind you.
Yibo stood next to you nudging your arm with his quietly saying, “If you’re too tired to ride back let me drive just don’t fall asleep on the back.” You stretch a little turning your head to look at him saying, “I would let you drive to the apartment, but I don’t have a second helmet.” He holds his up shaking it a little as the rest of the group finally comes around the corner Yixing saying, “Aww look at the two of them, maybe he finally found someone that can keep up with him.” Turning to look at the group feeling your cheeks heat up a little, Haikun walking over to you pulling you away becoming the protective older brother you always wished you had as he looks at the group shaking his head a little as they started discussing how to get Yibo and you together. He walks you over to a better viewing area holding his hand out saying, “Give me your phone let me take a few pictures of you here.” Obliging to his request taking your phone out and unlocking it before handing it to him, he tells you to pose however you think best, feeling Yibo’s eyes on you turning to look at him waving him over. Once he walks over to you, slightly pushing him in front of you before putting your hands on his shoulders quickly saying, “Don’t drop me.” Jumping up he easily catches your legs the both of you laughing as Haikun continues to quickly take pictures making sure he captures every moment, grateful to see his junior genuinely smiling.
Resting your head against Yibo’s as Haikun walks over handing you back your phone, carefully taking it from him, flipping the camera to the front camera before yanking Haikun over to stand next to the two of you. Hearing footsteps running up you quickly take a picture of the three of you before the rest joined the picture, Yibo carefully lets you down, making sure not to move too far away from you. A couple of hours had passed when you put your cheek against Yibo’s back, Yu Shi steps back slightly having seen Yibo come to a complete stop, he looks at you with a small smile on his face as he says, “You should get her home before she falls asleep here.” He nods letting Jackson hold onto you ensuring you won’t fall over, Yibo hands Jackson your backpack asking him to put it on you. Feeling movement around you, opening your eyes as Yibo is thanking for all of them coming to hangout with you for a little, they all nod saying it was wonderful to meet you and that he’d have to put you in a group chat with them. He agrees as he turns to look at you smiling at you saying, “Hello, are you ready to go home close to being sleeping beauty?” Making a face at him nodding as you do so, giving everyone a hug, Yibo finally pulls you away as they all head to their separate vehicles each of them waving one last time as they leave.
Yibo quickly puts on his own helmet making sure it was buckled before putting yours on and buckling it for you, he gets on the bike holding his hand out, making it easier for you to get on behind him. He turns slightly making sure you’re situated behind him grabbing your hands and he wraps your arms around himself, holding the key out in your hand, he carefully takes it from you. Turning the bike on, he pushes the kickstand up with his heel, driving away every few minutes tapping your arm or knee to make sure you were still awake tapping your hands on the gas tank putting your head against his back feeling him slow down to come to a stop. He puts one of his feet on the ground, setting his hands over yours, laughing a little at the fact your gloves made your hands look bigger than they were. Slightly leaning his head back enough to tap your helmet with his feeling you jump at the sudden bump, he watches the light turn green, swiftly picking his foot up driving away from the stop light knowing the apartment building was only ten more minutes away from where you were. He takes a few side streets cutting the time down, pulling into the parking garage, driving over to where you normally parked he backs the bike in holding his hand out again for you to get off after he put the kickstand down turning the bike off he takes your helmet off for you balancing it on the bikes seat as he takes his off, picking yours up again saying, “Come on nearly sleeping beauty.” Nodding at him as you loop your arm in his letting him pull you into the building leaning against him every time he stopped feeling him chuckle each time.
He unlocks your door, watching you stumble inside, dropping your bag on the bench he sets your helmet down next to it saying, “Go get some sleep, that group can being tiring especially Yixing and Jackson together.” Thanking him for the fun day and driving you home he nods handing you your key shutting the door as he walks away. Kicking your boots off while taking your jacket off and hanging it, walking into your bedroom, quickly changing into pajamas and plugging in your phone before falling onto your bed. Pulling a blanket over yourself immediately falling asleep, a few hours pass before you finally wake up, groaning as you stretch before pulling the blanket around yourself tighter after a few minutes you hear light knocking at your door. Letting out a breath as you get up grabbing a smaller blanket, wrapping it around yourself, putting your slippers on as you walk towards your front door hitting the button to show the camera feed from outside your door seeing Yibo standing on the other side of the door.
The night scenery around Beijing had always taken your breath away even as a child, no matter how often your family had traveled there for business, even now it took your breath away as an adult. Sitting at a stop light with one foot on the ground while the other still sat on the peg, stretching a little setting your hand on your thigh, taking the chance to look around. Finally turning your attention back to the light watching it turn green. Taking off from the stop light heading towards your apartment hoping your neighbor wasn’t home yet not knowing who he was only know that he also owned and rode a motorcycle. Hearing a rev from a bike coming up behind you moving over to allow them to pass by if they wanted, glancing in the mirror catching the familiar black and neon green behind you, internally groaning as you see your parking garage come into sight. Slowing down to turn in trying to ignore the bike behind you, backing into your parking spot, kicking the kickstand down before turning your bike off watching your neighbor start parking his bike before you finally get off yours unzipping your jacket quickly heading towards the door swiping the key fob over the lock swinging the door open. Stepping inside you shrug out of your backpack hearing the door beep and open again as you get to the elevator, hitting the button as your neighbor comes to stand next to you, tightening the grip on your helmet as you watch the numbers tick down on the elevator.
Watching the elevator doors slide open you step in, waiting for him to step in as well, clearing your throat as you quietly say, “You live on the 30th floor as well right?” He looks at you a bit shocked stumbling over his own words, “Uh y-yeah I do, you just moved in a little while ago didn’t you?” Nodding you quickly press the button for the 30th floor before slumping back against the wall of the elevator exhaustion taking over realizing this was going to be an awkward elevator ride watching your neighbor out of the corner of your eyes you see him put in his ear buds, already having put one of yours in the second you had gotten off your bike, feeling your phone buzz in your pocket, digging it out seeing it’s a phone call from your manager quickly muttering sorry as you answer it, listening to your manager start ranting about the job he had found you telling you to report at eight in the morning sharp before he hung up and texted you the address. Letting out a breath you start scrolling through social media feeling the elevator coming to a stop motioning for your neighbor to step out first you follow out behind him staying a few steps behind him as you answer another phone call from your parents as they ask you how the move had gone and if you are adjusting well.
Answering each question your parents threw at you with practiced ease coming to a stop in front of your penthouse, easily unlocking the door before stepping inside, your neighbor turns to wish you a good night only seeing an empty hall. He heads into his own penthouse going about his own business, telling your parents good night and wishing that they were here with you. Setting your stuff down by the door taking your boots off before hanging your jacket up, walking further into your apartment connecting your phone to the speaker turning on some music to wind down for the night having already set an alarm on your phone for six thirty a.m plugging your phone in going through your nightly routine of removing your make up and washing your face. Changing into your pajamas you climb into bed, sleep quickly taking you, jumping hours later at the sound of your alarm sitting up you turn it off, groggily getting out of bed starting to go about your morning routine. Pulling your hair into a braid, grabbing everything you need to get to the address your manager had texted you, seeing the time you throw the front door open quickly locking it behind you cussing under your breath. Running towards the elevator hitting the button wishing for it to come quicker, pulling your backpack on as the doors open you rush in before hitting the button for the parking garage.
A few minutes pass before the elevator doors open to the parking garage, seeing your neighbor standing inside the lobby, rushing past him tugging your helmet on buckling it. Getting on your bike kicking the kick stand up starting your bike nearly peeling out of the parking garage, taking as many shortcuts as possible pulling up to the building that you were given the address for seeing your manager standing outside the door he walks up saying, “I don’t know why you consistently refuse to let one of us come and get you.” Shrugging at him after you finish parking, unbuckling your helmet before taking it off smiling at him, “Cause this takes far less time to get places.” Putting the kickstand down and turning your bike off you see a van pull up as the other persons manager gets out opening the door for them as both you and your manager walk into the building a quiet conversation between the two of you stepping into your dressing room setting your stuff down tossing your jacket onto a nearby chair as the door shuts behind you, sitting down in the makeup chair as the makeup artist and hairstylist swarm you. Modeling was never your first career choice it just gave you the money needed to afford the lifestyle you wanted, tuning out your manager as he went on about the concept before hearing that it was going to be a motoracing couple themed shoot perking up a little at the thought tired of doing the majorly girly photo shoots.
Everyone clears the room except for the stylist who helped you get changed into the first armored outfit that looked more like casual everyday wear, the boots looked like normal boots as well. She hands you the jacket as you carefully pull it on, looking at the full outfit in the mirror, thanking her as you start walking out of the dressing room the hairstylist meeting you outside of the room stopping you as she quickly fixes the high ponytail she had put your hair in ensuring that the curls were holding. Pointing at another model that was facing away from you quietly asking, “Is that the other model?” She nods whispering, “He’s handsome too.” Laughing at her response as she finishes fixing your hair thanking her as you walk away the director greeting you as you step onto the set. Walking over to the bike that sat in the middle of the set seeing it had been painted completely white, jumping as you hear a deep voice from behind you say, “It’s a beautiful bike isn’t it?” Recognizing the voice turning slightly only to come face to face with your neighbor, he raises his eyebrows in shock as you say, “It’s you, I’m sorry I never properly introduced myself I’m Y/N L/N.” He laughs a little as he shakes his head saying, “It’s alright I’ve never properly introduced myself either I’m Wang Yibo.” Now it was your turn to stare at him in shock having heard about him multiple times. The director lets the two of you continue to talk for a while making sure you were both comfortable with each other.
The director finally gets the attention of both of you, sliding easily into a professional mindset the photographer talking about how he wants the two of you to sit. Yibo sits further back in the seat helping you climb onto the bike in front of him, carefully maneuvering yourself onto the gas tank, Yibo slides forwards carefully pulling your legs over his before resting his hands on your hips. Trying to not move too much even though you know he wouldn’t let the bike tip over from the small reassurances he had whispered to you the entire time you were getting into position placing one of your hands on the crook of his elbow before placing the other on his chest the photographer gasps quickly saying, “Stay there! Stay there! That’s the perfect picture!” Giving the man in front of you a small smile watching him return one of his own the photographer has the two of you adjust the pose a few times before he says, “We’re going to move onto another pose, please be careful getting off the bike I don’t want either of you getting hurt.” Nodding slightly Yibo gets off the bike first watching you like a hawk as you slide off the gas tank trying to find a spot to place your hand to get off Yibo steps closer putting your hand on his forearm as you grab his shoulder with your other hand. Laughing once you were finally off the bike and steady the photographer snaps a few more pictures without the two of you realizing seeing the genuine reactions.
The photographer acts like something was wrong with his camera telling the two of you that you could check out the bike, snapping pictures of the two of you as the two of you both immediately started pointing thing out to each other that the other hadn’t noticed Yibo standing slightly behind your shoulder as you place your hands on the seat, discussing how you would have the bike wrapped if it was yours, you shoot up right nearly shouting, “What if we brought in my bike?! It’s completely black, I’ll pay for the floors to be cleaned I swear.” The photographer nods as your manager tosses your keys at you as you run past getting outside putting the key into the ignition to be able to throw your bike into neutral, looking up seeing Yibo and your manager holding the doors open kicking the kickstand up you start pushing your bike inside once inside you look at the photographer as he points to where he wants the bike. Setting it right where he wanted as you push the kickstand down, taking the key out of the ignition handing them off back to your manager. Yibo leans against the bike as you brush past him grabbing onto his arm as you slide onto the seat of your bike before placing your hands on either side of you crossing your legs at the ankles slightly leaning forward as Yibo places his hand onto your bikes gas tank. Listening to the click of the camera as the photographer continues to direct the two of you on poses, ensuring the logo of the brand showed in every picture the photographer finally calls for a break hopping off your bike like it was on fire seeing your manager walk in with food, Yibo’s manager following behind yours.
The next morning came too quickly for either of the twins liking, hearing knocking at the door, Bilith sits up quickly getting changed seconds before Claude swings the door open Hilda right behind him as she shouts, “It’s time to go! Let’s go find you a dress Teach.” Nodding at her slightly as she drags her out of the room, Jeralt stands a few feet away, watching as the two girls drag Bilith away. Jeralt finally turns his attention back to the room seeing Claude trying to drag Byleth out of the room, laughing to himself, Jeralt walks over after a few minutes saying, “Kid go with Claude, Bilith went with the girls so it’s only fair you go with him.” Byleth lets go of the door frame, chuckling as Claude tumbles backwards, Jeralt pats his shoulder before walking away to go take care of his duties. Standing in the small market in front of the monastery waiting for the two boys to show up that way the carriage could take them into the town, Bilith climbs onto the back, making eye contact with her brother as he comes around the corner with a frazzled Claude she raises her hands motioning for them to move quicker. Byleth quickens his pace saying to Claude, “Hurry up, I’m sure Bilith wants to this done as quickly as I do.” Making it to the carriage finally everyone climbs on as Hilda tells the driver that everyone is on board safely.
The twins lean back slightly listening to the students talk, both of them looking at the surroundings, Claude watches the twin professors as they shift slightly, uncomfortable with the thought of having to dress up. After a couple of hours, the town comes into sight Hilda and Mercedes clearly getting excited, Bilith glances at her brother sitting across from her, seeing him slouched down with his head hanging back. Quickly kicking the bottom of his boot, Byleth nearly shoots into an upright position, looking at Bilith seeing her on the edge of a freak out he gets up before kneeling on a knee in front of her pulling her a little closer as he quietly says, “Lil hey it’ll be okay I’m sure they’ll find you one that you’ll be comfortable with quickly no stress yeah? Then we can figure out how to make it so you can at least have a couple of daggers on you within reach.” Bilith nods at him neither of them realizing the students had stopped talking to turn their attention to them, Byleth sits back down before pulling out his carved cat the man in the village had given him, holding it out to his sister feeling her take it from him. Byleth turns his gaze on the students watching as they scramble to go back to their conversations, getting into the town the driver stops the carriage, the twins easily jump over the sides to get down the ride having made them more uncomfortable both of them walking around making sure their students get down safely.
Hilda walks over to Bilith holding her arm out, Bilith begrudgingly links her arm with Hilda’s, feeling the girl start dragging her off as Mercedes follows Bilith stares at Hilda in shock sputtering out, “I-I didn’t know you were this strong, what the hell?” Hilda just giggles as she shrugs saying, “Blame my brother.” Mercedes spots a dress shop pointing it out to the other girl Bilith looks over her shoulder seeing her brother and Claude walking as a leisurely pace, Claude clearly talking Byleths ear off, the bell rings on the door as Mercedes opens the door hearing the shop owner yell from the back, “Welcome in I’ll be out in a second!” Hilda steps away from Bilith before turning to look at her with a nearly scrutinizing look, Bilith starts looking anywhere to avoid eye contact with the girl in front of her. Mercedes carefully clasps her hands in front of her as she says, “We shouldn’t put her in anything too bright, it’ll wash her out, something with darker tones and gold to slightly represent the house.” Hilda hums in agreement as the shop owner comes out to greet the trio the owner takes one look at Bilith having heard what Mercedes had said as she joins the girls to look at Bilith.
The shop owner snaps her fingers saying, “I’ve got the perfect thing it’s darker and does have gold on it.” Hilda walks behind Bilith pushing her to follow the shop owner as Mercedes giggles, Bilith finally starts walking like Hilda wants, holding onto the carved cat for dear life Mercedes looks at Bilith saying, “There’s a couch there if you want to sit for a few minutes, we’ll go look at the dress.” Watching their teacher nod as she all but collapses onto the couch hearing the girls gasp in shock while saying, “This is gorgeous it’s going to look beautiful on her. Can we look at a few dresses for ourselves while she calms down? She’s never dressed up like this before so it’s a lot for her.” The shop owner agrees as the two girls start to mill around the shop looking at multiple dresses nearly an hour had passed as the two had tried on multiple dresses before the bell above the door dings as it opens, hearing two pairs of footsteps. Bilith sits up turning to look at who had just entered the shop seeing her twin and Claude feeling relief flood her which quickly dissipates as Hilda steps in front of Biliths eyesight crouching to make eye contact with her while she says, “Let’s go try your dress on these two can sit out here.” Bilith groans quietly as she gets up following Hilda to one of the dressing rooms, which is far bigger than the ones they had been using a dress hanging on the wall Bilith starts looking it over carefully running her hand over the fabric.

Once the twins get to the top of the hill they slow their horses to a stop, looking at each other, Byleth watching the smile slide off his sisters face. Both of them slide off their horses, walking them through the gates, a tight grip on the reins as they turn towards the stables seeing Jeralt and Claude walking towards them. Byleth holds his hand out for Bilith’s reins, feeling her slide them into his hand, nudging his sister with his elbow to move her behind him as they look at the two walking towards them. As soon as the twins are in earshot Jeralt says, “Byleth, let one of the stable boys take the horses, Bilith come here.” A couple of the stable boys run up taking the reins from Byleth, stepping around her brother, Jeralt knowing well Byleth won’t let her get too far away from him. Jeralt steps forward wrapping his arms around his daughter, Bilith throwing her full weight against him, letting out a breath Claude stepping towards Byleth hoping he won’t unsheathe his sword. Byleth finally turns his attention to Claude, stopping in front of his professor, nodding his head at him Bilith finally pulling away from her father saying, “We aren’t going to defend our actions of being distant.” He nods as he watches his children move back towards each other Bilith flicking Claude’s ear as she slightly shoves Byleth.
The small group stands talking for a while, Byleth looking more interested in his boots, Bilith doing the majority of the talking for the both of them. Hearing someone clear their throat Byleth snaps his head towards the direction of the noise one of his arms stretched out over his twin and his free hand on the hilt of his sword, Bilith carefully sets her hand on his that’s on his hilt. Pushing his arm down as she whispers, “Relax we don’t have to act as mercenaries right now, everyone is safe.” Watching her brothers shoulders drop as he fully snaps out of being a mercenary, Bilith had snapped out of her mercenary mind set when Jeralt hugged her, both of them staring Seteth down as he holds out a piece of paper quickly saying, “Your classes next mission.” Claude takes it from him holding it out towards the professors everyone watching as Seteth turns on his heel walking away from the group Bilith slightly mocks him before shaking her head carefully taking the paper from Claude opening as she skims over the words before saying, “Is she fucking pranking us? A ball? Choose a student to compete?” Claude puts his hands up as he starts to step back both twins turn their attention to their class leader Byleth slightly smiling as he says, “Claude’s doing it as a repayment for the sleep we lost.” Watching the boy put his hands down as he sighs as Jeralt laughs before realizing neither of his kids know how to dance and they’re supposed to help the boy learn.
Bilith looks at her father a look on her face as she quietly says, “Dad we don’t know how to dance, and I don’t know if Claude was taught and it says we’re supposed to teach him…” He nods as Manuela rounds the corner Bilith perks up seeing her, Bilith rushes over to her, Manuela greets her a little shocked at Bilith coming up to her first she watches the younger girl lean in as she whispers, “Professor we need someone to teach us how to dance, we don’t know how, and this says we’re supposed to teach Claude we can’t teach something we don’t know.” Manuela chuckles a little as she pats Biliths hand agreeing to help them learn she motions at the two standing near Jeralt, both of them walking over, Bilith waving bye to their father as he goes back to his duties. Manuela leading them to a private area in the monastery where they cannot be bothered, she spends the next few hours teaching the three how to dance, and once she felt like they had it down they all left to go to the dining hall. Bilith scans the room seeing a familiar blonde-haired girl motioning that she’d be right back, she walks over to the girl, stopping in front of her with her arms folded as she says, “Edelgard, where did you go and why didn’t you tell anyone?” The girl looks at her clearing her throat as she says, “I had to go back home, father was ill, there was no time for me to tell anyone.” Bilith nods not fully believing her catching sight of Hanneman walking into the dining hall Bilith points at Edelgard once Hanneman had turned his attention towards her. Walking over to the two that were waiting for her, they all move towards the line for food, Hilda skips up to the trio wedging herself between Claude and Bilith.
The four of them grab their trays of food, moving to a table near an exit, none of them had sat down as Hilda says, “Hey Professor Bilith, the ball is coming up soon, we should go get you a dress.” Byleth watches his sister nearly drop her tray as she stares at the girl mouth open in shock Byleth taps the table with his fingers snapping his twin out of her stupor as she finally sits down Bilith finally says, “Alright if I have to wear a dress he has to wear something nice as well.” Pointing at her twin Claude grins as he says, “I’m sure I can find him something, we’ll all go into town tomorrow seeing as it’s our rest day.” Byleth stares at his sister as she starts eating a smile on her face Mercedes having overheard the conversation sits down next to Hilda saying, “You two wouldn’t mind if I joined you in looking for one as well right?” Hilda shakes her head as the twins tune the conversations out hearing Hilda say something along the lines of the more people the merrier. Three out of the five in the group silently eat while Hilda and Mercedes continue to talk about the ball and how excited they were for it to happen and what plans they were making for Bilith with hair and makeup. Claude glances at Bilith as the plans for her were coming together noticing she was trying not to choke on food he clears his throat saying, “Ladies if you could continue the conversation elsewhere, the thought of a dress is already killing Teach here.” The girls nod as they finish their food and walk away continuing their conversation.

Once outside of the gates you take your weapon belt off tossing it on the ground along with the relic you carried, sitting on the ground a few feet away from your weapons, laying back with your arms out. Closing your eyes before throwing your arm over them to block out the sun, you lay there in silence for nearly an hour not noticing someone had walked up next to you. Jeralt clears his throat causing you to jump up frantically looking for your weapons which were in his hands, hearing him laugh before he says, “Relax kid, it’s just me.” Groaning as you take your weapon belt back putting it on as he starts inspecting what he can he walks around you looking for injuries, seeing one across your shoulder he shakes his head coming back to face you his arms folded across his chest giving you the classic mercenary leader look when anyone was injured as he says, “Kid you know better than anyone to get an injury checked once the mission is finished. I will take this back to your room; you are to go to Manuela and get that cleaned and wrapped up.” Nodding at him as he escorts you back into the monastery he heads towards your room while you head towards Manuela’s office to have her check the injury.
Manuela spots you coming up the stairs, Hanneman being nearby, she quickly hands him what she had in her hands grabbing onto your arm as you finish ascending the stairs, quickly assessing you a few whispered cuss words leaving her mouth as she escorts you to the infirmary. Hanneman follows behind standing outside the door as you peel your jacket off finally revealing how many injuries you had received during the fights, none of you had realized that a few of your students had followed you up the stairs having seen you pull your jacket off. Dropping it on the ground as you sink onto a bed watching Manuela set supplies on the table catching the sight of blood on her white jacket internally cringing at it voice hoarse as you finally say, “Manuela please calm down, it’s not like I’m dying I think, the majority of the blood isn’t mine. I’ll pay to get your jacket cleaned.” She turns to look at you bewildered scoffing as she goes back to swiftly setting stuff on the table. Hanneman finally looks down the hallway seeing Claude, Yuri, Sylvain, and Felix standing there stunned he apologizes to both you and Manuela as he steps into the room setting her stuff down on the table before he walks back out shutting the door behind him.
He walks over to the four of your students as they finally turn their attention to him Claude throwing another glance over his shoulder looking back at Hanneman he steps forward grabbing onto the older man’s shoulders while saying, “Is teach going to be okay?” It finally clicks for Hanneman about how much your students care for you he nods, “Professor Byleth will be perfectly fine the wounds are thankfully not too deep. I can go and ask both Professor Byleth and Professor Manuela if it would be okay if you four came and stood out of the way in the room.” All four boys nod their heads. Hanneman turns away walking back down the hall knocking on the door hearing you tell him to come in, cracking the door open he steps inside shutting it behind him again. He watches Manuela work for a second before he clears his throat putting his hands in his pockets looking directly at you, “Byleth, four of your students are standing in the hallway and would like to know if they could come in. If they stayed out of Manuela’s way.” Humming a little your gaze on the ground only flinching when Manuela hits a particularly sore spot she rubs your back softly in a spot free of wounds as an apology while continuing to clean the injury going across your shoulder and shoulder blade.
After a few seconds have passed you finally look at Hanneman voice slightly hoarse from disuse, “If two of the students are Sylvain and Felix, please tell them to wait out in the hallway. The other two can come in.” He nods turning around opening the door and poking his head out while saying, “Claude, Yuri come in. Felix and Sylvain please wait out here it shouldn’t be too much longer.” They all nod Claude swiftly making his way down the hallway barely waiting for Hanneman to get the door open all the way as he walks into the room taking one look at you as Yuri thanks Hanneman for letting them in as he leaves to give you and the two students privacy. He motions for Felix and Sylvain to follow him into his office as he says, “You two can come in here and sit on the couches I’ll get you guys some tea.” They both nod as they sit down on the couch you had gone back to look at the ground seeing two different pairs of boots come into your eyesight letting a breath out as you looking back and forth from their boots to yours the difference in cleanliness obvious. Claude clears his throat quietly saying, “Teach look at us please.” Lifting your head to look at the two boys seeing the concern on their faces you laugh a little before immediately biting back a yelp as Manuel moves her attention to the long cut across your shoulder.
Everyone moved carefully around the twins for almost a week, knowing that switching gears from teachers to mercenaries and back, would take a while both of them had gone back to only talking to each other. Byleth and Bilith stood in the front of the classroom backs to the students a quiet conversation between the two of them, both of their postures stiff, Claude watches as the two move their hand to the hilt of their swords in sync. Claude, Hilda, and Yuri had noticed that both had been in sync more recently, they watch as both roll their shoulders, finally turning to face the class ready to begin the lesson for the day. Neither of them moved far from the front of the classroom, the strictness in their voices a silent command, each student carefully listening to them knowing neither teacher would stop to go back for questions. Nearly an hour had passed by the time the two dismissed the students to carry on with the rest of their day, Bilith looks at her brother as he leans against one of the desks she finally says, “Do you want to go off monastery grounds? Get us away from here for a little bit?” He lets out a breath nodding his head before pushing off the desk holding his hand out to his sister feeling her grab it he starts a brisk pace towards the stables to get their horses. Easily dodging students and their father they quickly put the blankets and saddles on the horses before climbing onto them, having them carefully walk through the market.
Passing through the gates the twins have their horses start galloping, Bilith laughs once they’re far enough away from the monastery, Byleth turns his head slightly to look at her a grin on his face, both grateful to feel freedom once again. An hour and a half had passed by the time they reach a village, both carefully slide out of their saddles, tying their horses up to a post watching as a few kids run around not a care in the world Bilith smiles at them. One of the kids stops as she looks at Bilith the girl says, “Guys look! It’s the Ashen Demon and the Gray Demon! Thank you for helping our village a year ago!” Bilith crouches down in front of her brushing the girls bangs out of her face pulling a few gold coins out of her pouch handing them to the little girl as Bilith says, “You and your friends go buy whatever you want yeah?” The girl nods as she and her group of friends take off. Byleth helps his twin stand back up feeling his twin link her arm with his, they both start walking through the village, noticing some of the villagers avoid them or give them brief nods in thanks some watching as the two had fallen into a comfortable silence. Bilith pulls her twin up to a booth Byleth trying not to laugh as she becomes enamored with some of the toys, the owner of the booth looks at the two of them, a smile on his face glad to see that the two kids he had nearly watched grow up as they would come back to the village come to his booth again.
The booth owner picks up a carved flower and a carved cat holding them out to each twin as he says, “For the both of you for free, it brings me great joy to see you back here grown up.” They each carefully take the cat and flower as Bilith looks at him saying softly, “Thank you kind sir, it brings us great joy to be back here.” She walks around the booth hugging the older man the twins both turn and walk away both of them carefully tucking their carved items into a separate pouch. A pub owner steps out on his stoop looking at the two of the twins before shouting, “Oy! Ashen Demon and Gray Demon! Get in here and eat I’m sure the monastery ain’t feeding you well.” Byleth laughs as he pulls his twin up the steps patting the owner on the shoulder a quick thank you leaving him. They both sit at the bar leaning on their forearms on the bar each villager in there thanking them and buying them a pint every time they finished their previous one.
The pub owner soon sets a heaping plate of food down in front of each twin, each twin blocks the side of the plate closest to the other with their arm, each of them starting to dig in between sips of their drinks. The two fall into a comfortable conversation between him dealing with other patrons, Bilith laughs carefree for the first time in a while, Byleth smiles at her as they both finish off their food. Both lean against the bar again Bilith look at her brother while saying, “I wish we could go back to this, I never realized how much I would miss this.” Byleth hums finishing off his pint as he looks at his sister saying, “That is true, I sometimes regret choosing to stay at the monastery and talking you into staying.” Shaking her head they each set a few coins on the bar making a quiet exit from the pub heading back to their horses carefully untying the reins from the post. Byleth helps his sister onto her horse before he gets onto his as they have both horses walk out of the town setting off into another gallop back towards the monastery, the two of them each have a grin on their faces, enjoying the fresh air both of them watching as the monastery grows bigger the closer they get to it. Bilith groans knowing that the time was ticking down to them being back at the monastery, they each slow their horse once they start to ascend the hill.
So I've decided to make a point. I know hundreds of writers on here have been trying to bring this to the attention of audiences, but it doesn't seem to be getting through. So I'm gonna try. These are the likes, comments, and reblog ratios on some of my fics.
I don't get as many notes as some authors do on here for most of my work, but you can see how out of 447 people that it's underwhelming to receive no comments.
Even on my more popular fanfictions, the comments and reblogs don't even compare to the amount of likes on a post.
And here is a fact that might startle some of you;
Likes mean nothing. They mean nothing on any social media app, and at the end of the day, they mean even less here. Writers want kudos, comments, ideas, and constructive criticism. Writers want your thoughts on the work you just read. Even if it's just a simple red heart emoji or a keyboard smash, that tells us so much and gives us inspiration to write similar content for you and others to enjoy. Reblogs are even more important than comments and most definitely likes. Reblogs allow our work to reach different sides and circles of tumblr. If it's on your mutuals dash because you reblogged it, then more people will see it, read it, and hopefully enjoy it. Reblogs matter, because writers are pouring their heart, soul, pussys, and dicks into these fics and are brave enough to post them. For free. You get to read these fics for free. And the least you can do is drop a comment.
Reblog a fic to your blog if you loved it. Even better, Reblog with tags or write your comments with the reblog. We see all of it, and it makes our day. Please, you're wondering why writers for your favorite fandoms are dwindling here. It's because there is no support. If you support your favorite writers, artists, gifmakers, etcetera, then we might just stick around and continue making free content for you all.
I don't have that many likes or traffic on my page everything that was said in this is valid, we want to see what you guys think even if it's as simple as "I love this keep up the great work!" Because sometimes finding the will to write is extremely hard even if it is something I love with all my heart.
I will try to have a few chapters out either today or tomorrow for either Trapped, Double, Man in White, or Two Kids I haven't decided what one or it might end up being all of them ☺️☺️
I will have wifi by the end of this week and it depends on how I am feeling or how the weekend goes how soon I'll get another chapter out for any of my stories. If anyone has an idea for a drabble/scenario/bullet-point list feel free to drop it in my asks. Have a wonderful week you guys 💕
Hey guys I will be temporarily going on hiatus my family and I are moving so until I can get my wifi hooked up and things settled (aka my cats) I will be back hopefully soon! I appreciate all of you that read my stories! I love you guys!!
Slightly tossing Sylvain as you come skidding to a stop putting your free arm out while sinking into a fighting stance not bothering to look over your shoulder as you say, “He can’t get past those four pillars he’s in without breaking them, I need archers in the back find a spot you can each hit him from stay away from the tail. Healers stay near the archers.” Tossing your sword to the side as you glance at Hilda holding your sword hand out watching as she grabs the Sword of the Creator from where she had hid it earlier throwing it to you. Easily catching it as you look at the blade, letting out a breath as your entire group moves back forward, Sylvain comes up next to you keeping pace with you a slight shake in his hand. Running at Miklan’s beast form the battle starts all over again, avoiding the claws the best you can as Claude shouts every time they come near. The blade in your hand had started glowing throughout the fight terse orders leaving your mouth yelling at a student where to strike every few minutes, you couldn’t tell how long had passed finally seeing Miklan’s beast form drop. Looking at Sylvain as he watches you staying back where he was as you move forward listening to you, “You either watch or go back to the group.” Kicking the relic behind you towards Sylvain listening to it rasp across the floor as you stop in front of Miklan.
Swinging the Sword of the Creator over your head, the fluid motion a sense of normalcy to you, bringing it down slashing major veins to keep him down before delivering the final blow. Sylvain turns away not being able to watch the final blow, turning back to the group starting to walk towards them, feeling blood running down your face knowing you looked like something out of a nightmare at this point relief running through your body at the thought of the fight being over. Patting Sylvain’s shoulder as you pass by walking past your students a tired tone in your voice, “Let’s go home. If anyone needs healing do it now I will be out at the horses.” Leaving them behind as you head towards the exit having picked up your discarded sword putting it back in the sheath. Hearing your students talking amongst themselves as the healers did what they needed to you see the door putting your hand against it shoving it open more leaving a bloody handprint behind. Shoulders slumped as you continue towards the horses, seeing yours come into view stabbing the point of the Sword of the Creator into the ground next to the creek as you kneel down in front of it washing the blood off of your hands watching the water carry it away from you.
Standing up as you start undoing all the ropes on the horses, grabbing the sword you had stabbed into the ground tying it to one of your horses saddle bags, stepping in front of the horses putting your forehead against its snout. Trying to calm the thoughts racing through your head before having the feeling of being stared at, turning slightly to see your students standing there Sylvain being the closest making sure to keep your tone even and emotionless, “Lets go back to the monastery if you guys are ready.” Watching them all nod as you toss a small sachet to Sylvain while grabbing the Sword of the Creator, tying it on the saddlebag, taking note that it would have to be cleaned of the blood that had now crusted and dried on it. As everyone pulls themselves up on their horses, making a clicking noise with your mouth the horse starts on its way out of the clearing the students following behind once on the path you let out another click letting your horse take off away from your students. Thankfully your horse was one of the quicker ones finally slowing your horse down when the monastery comes into view to allow your students to catch up with you.
Leading them up the hill feeling your gut twist looking at the school, getting to the top of the hill after a few minutes you slide off the horse taking the Sword of the Creator from where you had tied it. One of the knights walks up taking the reins from you turning to look at your students saying, “Go wash yourselves up, eat, and rest. I will go talk to Rhea.” Sylvain hops off his horse walking over handing you his families relic, taking it from him you walk inside the gates only to see Rhea and Seteth at the top of the main stairs watching you. Staring directly back at them, covered in blood feeling anger bubble in your veins, continuing to walk towards them you stop in front of them at the top of the stairs venom in your voice, “It’s done, there’s nothing left of that group. Do you want this relic or can I give it back to the person it rightfully belongs to?” Seteth goes to say something but stops when you turn your gaze onto him seeing only spite and disgust in your face Rhea puts her hand on Seteth’s arm while saying, “Leave it Seteth. Thank you professor for taking on the mission, the relic can go back to the rightful person as it will never fall into another unworthy persons hands.” Turning to see the students walking in all having handed their horses off to a knight you walk over to Sylvain handing the relic back to him before walking out of the gates again.
