[text:Neah] Probably the couch. I’ll yoink a blanket and a pillow from the closet. nbd

[text: Neah] Might be a little sore, but I’d rather be that, than have Lavi feel like he has to give up on getting closer to someone for me.

[text: Neah] That would just kill me inside if that happened.

[text: Allen] That’s really nice of you. I didn’t realize that there’s only one bed in his apartment. I figured there were two rooms.

[text: Allen] If the couch is horrible you’re always welcome to stay at my house.

[text: Neah] We’ll see. Lenalee got mad when I told her I should move out asap.

[text: Neah] Though I wouldn’t mind a sleep over every now and then. ;P

Allen blushed at the though of sleeping over at Neah’s house. What they could do together, innocent or not. He looked up at the television to pay attention to the movie but kept his senses aware of any contact from Neah.

“Got it.” Cross nodded and started to look through the documents and sorting them. “Jeez…I understand why he had to keep these but five year old receipts can be thrown after reporting them to Central. What a hoarder.” He sighed out. Thinking about Komui only made him anxious though, worried that his golem wouldn’t make it to him or might get caught and getting the Director in immense trouble.

A few hours later, Lavi made his way into Komui’s office looking like he had returned from something more intense than a supply run. His hood was up and mud was splattered all over his soaked clothes. He had packed away the food and other supplies before setting his sights on Cross.

“I hope this golem gets there quick and does it’s job. The town outside is swarming with Finders. I saw a few exorcists too.” Lavi pushed his hood down and swiped the hair out of his eye. He was standing just far enough away so the water dripping from his clothes wouldn’t ruin the papers. “They didn’t see me and I don’t think they realize that we’re here. It sounded like they’re passing through the town on their way to find something, but I didn’t hear what.”

Cross looked up from his work and listened to Lavi intently. “We’ll be fine as long as they don’t think to check here. Which I doubt they will. With the states we’re in, I doubt they’d think we’d manage in this place. But they forget how smart I am and how resourceful you and Allen are. None of us lived his long by being entirely stupid. Sure some of it is pure dumb luck but I’ll take what I can get.” He thought for a moment. “Should look at what scraps I have left and see if I can make another golem to keep an eye out for snoopers. Whatever it is they’re up to, it’s not our business right now.”

“Great. I can continue with the filing here. Junior went out on a supply run and I really don’t know what Neah is doing nor do I give a shit at this point. Just do be careful if you run into him. That’s all I ask.” Cross instructed him as he started to look through the papers. “I shouldn’t be disappointed that he took all the really important shit with him. Only natural.”

“Okay, this is the discard pile and this is Lavi’s pile,” Allen said as he pointed them out. He brushed the dust off his arms and gestured for Cross to sit in front of the pile of papers that had been haphazardly left behind. “I’ll be in the training room if you need me,” he said before walking out.

Allen shifted a little as he pulled out his phone but watching all the while.

[text: Neah] Hey thank you again for everything today. ♥

[text: Neah] Lavi and Quinn seem to be getting really cozy together too. I’m glad. All three of us are watching a movie together but I’m tempted to leave them be. But if Quinn stays over I want him and Lavi to have the bed.

[Text: Allen] No problem, I had a lot of fun today <3

[Text: Allen] I’m glad you’re all getting along. Where are you going to sleep if you give them the bed?

“Oh, he will. I’m going to head out now, let him know where I’m at,” Lavi called out to Cross as he was leaving. It would be better to get what they need now while it’s quiet, rather than waiting until everything blew up in their faces.

Cross found Allen on the floor of Komui’s office, rifling through pages upon pages of things left behind. Next to him was a neat stack of papers he was collecting for Lavi, while a more haphazard pile consisted of his discards. When Cross walked in, Allen didn’t pay him any attention until he was given the job.

“Really?” He finished filing away the papers in his hands before standing up, suddenly excited to do anything Cross told him to. “Yeah, I’ll get started right away.”

“Great. I can continue with the filing here. Junior went out on a supply run and I really don’t know what Neah is doing nor do I give a shit at this point. Just do be careful if you run into him. That’s all I ask.” Cross instructed him as he started to look through the papers. “I shouldn’t be disappointed that he took all the really important shit with him. Only natural.”

“It’s pretty good actually. Good comedy.” Allen smiled at him before moving to wait until the one on finished. Once it did, he took it upon himself to eject the dvd and insert the new one. He then sat back and let it play, keeping quiet while it did.

“I’m excited to watch it then,” Quinn hummed while he got comfy and started eating. Lavi did the same and eventually found himself resting against Quinn as they watched. They were both pretty quiet through the movie, other than when Quinn piped up to ask a quick question every now and then.

Allen shifted a little as he pulled out his phone but watching all the while.

“Umm…” Allen looked through the selection, trying to debate what to watch. “Ah!” He pulled a dvd out and presented it to them. “How about something silly and stupid? Like Groundhog’s Day? What do you think?” He didn’t want to embarrass Lavi in front of Quinn.

Lavi and Quinn both looked at Allen’s movie selection. Surprisingly, Lavi was the first to comment. “Yeah, that sounds good. It’s been a while since we’ve watched that.”

Quinn nodded and slid an arm around Lavi as he leaned closer to look at the cover. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen it. I’m always game for new movies.”

“We pick up on our training. Neah can be left to his own devices at this point, save for some check ups with me. I’ll see if I can teach you and Allen some basic magic. Barrier spells that the Finders use, some elemental stuff, things like that. Physical training. We’ll start with cardio until I figure out if I can makeshift some weights. Might scavenge the old training rooms. See if anything was left behind from the move.”

He thought for a moment. “We’ll have to make a supply run soon and make sure we’re not spotted leaving or entering the canal entrance down below. We’ll run out of food and meds eventually.”

“I’m sure Allen would be pleased to go through the training room. He’s probably spent the most time there out of all of us, so if there’s anything hidden, I’m sure he’d know where to find them.” Lavi dumped all his tools and pieces onto the desk, declaring the floor clean enough and the mess something for another day. “As for the supply run, I’ll do it. I’m the only one that isn’t super obvious and easy to recognize. I can head out today if you want. Allen will eat us out of house and home sooner than you think.”

“Thank you, Junior. I’ll talk to Allen here about searching the training room to get it back together a bit. I’m sure he’ll be eager to do more work.” Cross sighed at the mess but he was too tired to bother with it. “Alright. We have a plan.” He moved to leave and find his apprentice.

Once he did, he got the boy’s attention. “Allen, I need you to dig through the training rooms and see if there’s anything like weights and the light leftover for us to use. We’re going to start running and doing cardio exercises too.”

“Good.” Cross took the golem and tinkered with a few things before stepping out of the lab and to a window. “It’s programmed with my magic. Once it nears the new HQ it will go invisible and be undetected until it reaches Komui. Only I can break it apart at this point, so even if it gets caught, it won’t be easy to get into. Even for the science department.” He let it go and it took off flying. “I can see through it to check on things. If its compromised, I can detonate it.”

“I guess the only thing we can do is wait now,” Lavi said as he watched the golem fly away. Eventually, Lavi stood up with a sigh and began picking up his mess on the floor. “What’s next on the to-do list?”

“Then…yeah, sure, I would like to watch a movie with you guys.” Allen nodded as he took the can and went to the living room, figuring they were going to eat and watch at the same time. “Dinner and a movie without paying a cent or going out!”

“That’s the only right way to do anything these days,” Quinn laughed out as he followed Allen to the living room. Once there, he sat closest to one of the couch arms, leaving the middle open for Lavi.

Lavi eventually ventured out to the living room and took his spot, starting the movie up once again. “Do you want to pick the next movie Allen? This one will be over in like ten minutes.”

“Hm? Oh I really don’t want to impose on your time together, but if you’re gonna watch something new I wouldn’t mind joining you. Only if you don’t mind that is.” He smiled at the both of them. Allen really wanted Lavi to keep trying seeing other people and he didn’t want to impede on any developments. But he also felt awkward hiding away to the only bedroom in the apartment.

“I don’t mind, I think it’d be fun,” Quinn hummed out as he served himself. He glanced at Lavi, who was digging in the fridge for something other than alcohol to drink, to give his answer. 

Eventully, Lavi shut the fridge with three cans of pop in his hands. “Yeah, it’d be fun.” He gave Allen a small smile and handed over one of the cans he had taken.

“Then...yeah, sure, I would like to watch a movie with you guys.” Allen nodded as he took the can and went to the living room, figuring they were going to eat and watch at the same time. “Dinner and a movie without paying a cent or going out!”

“Of course. Like I said, we have a little more time on our hands now that Neah is out of him. I’m hoping in about a week to get him more physically involved. Light sparring. Get his body moving a little more. He seems to be getting better quicker than I thought, so maybe…we can try and do those exercises in a day or two even. See how his body reacts to it.”

“I told you to have more faith in him. Allen is capable of impossible things. If he can’t get me to unlock everything then nobody can.” Lavi grinned and pulled the golem out of the air. He went through and tightened all the screws before letting it go agin. The golem immediately started flitting around over their heads. “I think this beauty is done.”

“Good.” Cross took the golem and tinkered with a few things before stepping out of the lab and to a window. “It’s programmed with my magic. “Sure, no problem!” Allen started to pull things out of the fridge and cupboards, while pulling out a pot and pan. Quietly he worked on the meal, making sure there was enough for everyone. Once he was done, he went to the living room. “Hey, food’s ready if you’re hungry. Self serve.”

While Allen cooked, Lavi and Quinn cuddled on the couch to watch their movie. When Allen came out, Lavi paused the movie and stretched. “Thanks Allen,” he  hummed out while padding to the kitchen. 

Quinn wasn’t far behind and took his bowl from Lavi. “Thank you Allen. Did you want to watch a movie with us? This one is almost over.”

“Hm? Oh I really don’t want to impose on your time together, but if you’re gonna watch something new I wouldn’t mind joining you. Only if you don’t mind that is.” He smiled at the both of them. Allen really wanted Lavi to keep trying seeing other people and he didn’t want to impede on any developments. But he also felt awkward hiding away to the only bedroom in the apartment.

“We’ll work on it. It’s just the three of us and with my health dwindling, you can’t depend on me to save your asses anymore. Especially when it comes to the Noah. We’re traitors of the Order, so we’ll have the other Generals on our asses too. I know this isn’t something we can rush, Junior, but you can’t stay where you are in regards to power.” Cross told him, tone even to show he understood.

“It’ll be hard. I understand that. But I’d rather we try than not at all. We have time, now that Neah is out of Allen.”

“Yeah, I understand that. I’ll work on it.” Lavi sighed and dropped the golem, this time on purpose, to see if it’d catch itself. The golem was still capable of keeping itself aloft, so Lavi motioned for Cross to check it over. “If we want this to go faster, I’m probably going to need Allen. I know you don’t want him to do a lot, but I don’t feel jack shit unless he is involved.”

“Of course. Like I said, we have a little more time on our hands now that Neah is out of him. I’m hoping in about a week to get him more physically involved. Light sparring. Allen noticed that Lavi was keeping rather quiet but didn’t say anything. “Yeah it was nice. Wasn’t planning on being out the whole day but time flies, y’know?” He moved to the kitchen and started to put a small dinner together. “You guys hungry? I can cook up something quick if we have the right ingredients. Like some chicken alfredo or something.”

“Yeah, I know how that goes. I wasn’t planning on coming back today, but here I am.” Quinn wrapped his arms around Lavi and pulled the redhead into his chest. Lavi went without a fight, resting his head on Quinn’s shoulder as he leaned against him.

“If you could, that’d be great,” Lavi piped up, with a surprsingly even voice. He figured that if he didn’t speak up eventually Allen would catch on to him. “Anything would be fine.”

“Yeah. Really want to send it to Komui as soon as we can. We’re going to need more help if we’re going to make it here.” He leaned against the wall. “We need to work on getting you out of your Bookman mindset too. We need you at all your strength. You can’t hold back anymore.”

Lavi stopped tinkering for a moment when Cross called him out before slowly continuing. He knew it was a matter of time before they figured out he was struggling with his dual personality. “That’s…not going to be easy,” he mumbled while rummaging for a screw. “I only started changing because of Allen. I know you think that it’s a mindset and I can just will myself to get through it or shut it off, but it’s a lot more difficult than that. It isn’t a persona, like ‘Lavi’, that can be turned off. It’s my actual self. I’m not sure if I can do much for it.”

“We’ll work on it. It’s just the three of us and with my health dwindling, you can’t depend on me to save your asses anymore. Especially when it comes to the Noah. “Hey guys.” Allen tried to calm the blush on his face for Lavi’s sake. “Did you stay here the whole day, Quinn?” He asked as he took off his shoes and stepped inside. “Not that it’s a problem of course. I’m sure Lavi enjoyed your company.”

“Nah, I got called in to cover a day shift instead of my usual night shift. I just got back about an hour ago. He wanted to watch a movie since he’s still feeling a bit hungover,” Quinn hummed out as he glanced at Lavi. The redhead was obviously trying to act as natural as possible, but Quinn could clearly see that something about Allen had caught Lavi’s attention and was making him close up. It was subtle, but the redhead’s smile took a melancholy turn. Quinn just smiled like he didn’t notice and put a gentle hand on Lavi’s shoulder. “Did you have a good day?”
