We’ve Been Measuring Attraction Wrong
"Asexual people are often assumed to “lack” attraction. But in reality, many report rich and varied forms of attraction that don’t map neatly onto sexual desire.
So instead of asking “how does attraction work?,” we asked:
What do people actually mean when they say they feel attracted to someone?" "Drawing on both qualitative and quantitative data, we identified and validates seven different forms of attraction:
intellectual
aesthetic
emotional
platonic
sensual
romantic
sexual
These aren’t just theoretical distinctions. Statistically, they show up as separate but related dimensions—meaning people really do experience attraction in multiple, distinguishable ways." "Our findings demonstrate that both asexual and non-asexual experience multifaceted forms of attraction.
Put differently, the seven forms of attraction our study identifies are not “ace-specific” categories—they’re general features of human attraction. But starting from an asexual lens helped us see those features more clearly."
"If you only measure sexual attraction, you miss a huge part of how people relate to each other. And that’s true whether you’re working with asexual people or not."
It's July 31st, so happy birthday, Ken!! 🎉
Unfortunately, I have no time for new art...So here's old art ^_^;; This was originally a netprint I did last year, and usually you should wait a few years before posting the image itself, buuttttt since nobody printed it (or even saw it) on Twitter, I think it's safe to post it everywhere now lmao.
I hope you enjoy it!
I still regret forgetting to include the Digimon Emperor ∠( ᐛ 」∠)_
Shazam movie dump cause I miss them..transfem tho you know the drill
Also au I guess but Rosa and Victor fostering animals..Billy pissed as helll they already put a tracker on his ass
Anyway, I made my own version of Billy because I disappeared for ages (not that anyone gives a shit), and uh, I’m out of ideas for what to draw—plus, I’m fucking sick of him.......
Batman: It's time that the league reveals their identities to each other. I'll start. I'm Bruce Wayne.
Aquaman: I'm Arthur Curry, King of Atlantis.
Green Arrow: I'm Oliver Queen.
Blue Beetle: I'm Ted Kord.
Atom: I'm Ray Palmer.
Mr. Terrific: I'm Michael Holt.
Billy, who had to eat cold canned beans for breakfast: and I'm suddenly feeling a lot less guilty about stealing supplies from the Watchtower.
Billy Batson and his struggles.
It’s not a fanfic or anything—just a thought, I guess.
We know that Billy’s adult alter ego, Captain Marvel, attracts countless women—and men, too—leaving our poor Captain going from very shy to downright apprehensive when dealing with civilians, terrified of unwanted, intrusive kisses, hugs, and touches.
I can only imagine how important personal space must be to Billy. It’s hard to picture anyone touching him without his consent, or at least without fully understanding just how vital that boundary is to him.
But what really sticks with me is this: given how anxious and full of doubt he already is about dating, how crushing must it be for Billy to wonder whether his future girlfriend might prefer his adult version over the real him?
Maybe that explains, at least in part, why he’s so determined to keep his identity secret—the fear that he might not be enough, or as interesting or attractive, as his counterpart.
I can picture Billy losing a lot of sleep over the Stargirl situation, questioning whether Courtney liked him because of Captain Marvel or simply because they’re close in age.
He might even have gone to Olympus just to ask Zeus if some spell had been cast on him to draw both women and men, or whether the blessing itself carried that side effect. Even if Solomon disagreed on a few points, he wouldn’t argue with the idea that Billy needs a woman—after all, “she builds the home”—so having more than one could only help keep him from feeling lonely again.
Hercules, for his part, would probably warn him to watch out for Hera. She made him kill his own wives, and he doesn’t want Billy ending up doing the same to his girls.
I don’t have any deeper thoughts on this—it just occurred to me.
A very common misconception within the south asian community. So glad she addressed that. (x)
Her name is Gazal Dhaliwal and she’s a screenwriter. She talk about her life here and here.
She’s the writer for Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, an upcoming Indian coming-of-age romantic comedy-drama with a lesbian couple. She was also the dialogue writer for Lipstick Under My Burkha, which depicts the secret world, including the sex lives, of four small-town Indian women. She contributed to the screenplay for Wazir and Qarib Qarib Single.

Anti-Book Banning Bingo
We made this for an event with the Writers' Guild of Alberta to fight the book bans in our province. Feel free to use it, and if you want to fill in the "support a trans author" square, consider becoming a paid patron of Making Queer History!
06 - Stranger and stranger
Finally! I had this bind finished for weeks and weeks, but with snail mail across continents it only arrived at my co-author's door today, so now I get to squee over it and post pictures!
Behold! That Douchebag Steve Harrington! A Stranger Things story, Steve Harrington/Billy Hargrove, written by @humble-althemist and me.
With fanart by the fantabulous @ihni! The art was commissioned way back when, in the year when we had just finished the story, and I am so happy they let me use it for the physical book, as well! <3 <3 <3
The cover is foil quill on home-made bookcloth, the spine and maker's logo are sparkly-red HTV. A little more Frank'n'Furter than Hawkins High, perhaps, but I still love how it turned out. The black on the book edges is fountain pen ink. The endpapers are foil quill again, tried the rainbow foil for the little nailbats. :D
FUCK ITS ODAIBA DAY I NEARLY FORGOT

Cap introducing his siblings to people:
This is Mary Marvel she runs a charity and has donated thousands of dollars of money to helping the poor. She builds homes for the homeless feeds the hungry, reads to sick children, supports free healthcare. She is the most terrifying person I know and everyday I live in fear that I might upset her. This is Captain Marvel Junior he’s committed several war crimes, is on the no fly list and is banned from most counties. They tried to give him the death sentence but nothing they could had could possibly touch him. Isn’t the cutest little guy ever I love him so much he’s my best friend I don’t know where I’d be without him!
A piece I made a couple years ago for a zine, I wanted to wait and post it for Odaiba Memorial <3
